She described him as a loving, kind hearted man who came from a large family. He lives two blocks away from where the crash happened. He did this walk every morning to stay healthy. This morning he was driving southbound when he lost control of his car. Struck a power poll, rolled over, crashing into williams. Police found him dead on the roadway. Cleared by the coast guard but questions remain after a ferry hits a crowded peer during the rush of fleet week. Tonight we are hearing from a witness as well as from the coast guard. Ktvus Claudine Wong with new information live from San Francisco. Reporter Ferry Service is running as scheduled. All the usual boats are on the water, including the one involved in the incident. The coast guard cleared it for service yesterday but tonight there are still a lot of questions. [ music ] reporter on a typical day peer 41 is busy and on fleet week sunday it was packed. She was on board with her grandson after a long day at fleet week. She spoke to us today by phone. [ indiscernible ] that is the one we got on. Reporter officials confirmed there were 231 on board the vessel. But the trip lasted just moments. While reversing the ferry hit a piling. She remembers too big jolts. [ indiscernible ] people were screaming. We got knocked forward. And i saw other people that were standing up, they got knocked back and force. It was safely able to get back to the docks. The call we got was from concerned people in the area as well as from the company itself. Reporter 12 people were hurt. 10 were taken to the hospital. Two were treated and released. The remaining were taken across the bay on another boat. They apologized to passengers and promising to fully cooperate with any question into the reason it happened. The coast guard is heading up the investigation. Part of our investigation is the alcohol and chemical testing. That is something we are conducting while we go through the investigation. I got a call, Officials Say the alcohol tests on all crew members came back negative and the captain who was in charge of the vessel at the time of the incident is the training and Safety Officer for the fleet. Hours later she was shot and killed. Her boyfriend was the only survivor. We are praying for him too. She will never grow up to raise her and then she will be crying where is my mommy. Reporter she leaves behind a baby. But will grow up knowing everything about her mother. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Never. Ever, ever, ever. One person was killed today and four other hurt in arkansas with a tornado pounded the region. The worse damage was 150 miles southwest of little rock. The Severe Weather also downed power lines and over turned big rigs. Four other states also saw damage. The potential for mudslide is a major concern follow the king fire in el dorado county. They deployed a burned area Emergency Response team. They are preparing for rain in the forecast by restoring fire lines used to stop the fire.
