And then after i realized, hey, you know, one championship, three points way from a second championship, not too bad considering the warriors were the laughing stock of the nba not that long ago. A heartbreaking loss in the last minute of game 7. Irving and curry one on one. Irving puts it up. The Cleveland Cavaliers took the lead for good with 53 seconds left. Won 9389. It was close the entire game. Draymond green kept the warriors in it. Lebron james and kyrie irving led the cavs to victory. They were the first team to come back from a three run deficit to win the nba championship. It is the city of clevelands first sports title since the browns won the nfl championship in 1964. Joining us now is ktvus sports anchor jason applebaum. Its hard to figure out how people are so disappointed when they had such a wonderful season. After 73 wins, they wanted it all. Its not hard to figure, especially so close to what just happened. I mean, out of all the teams in nba history that would blow a 3 1 lead, it wouldnt be the team that set the record for most wins in the regular season. I mean, its unfathomable really to think how close the warriors were and then to see them lose three games in a row. Two at home. The first three game losing streak of the steve kerr area. They were so close. Do you feel like it was the same we have watched . It was that his tore Historic Team . I think they seemed tired. Lebron james, boy, i mean, he put the cavs on his back and he looked still fresh and strong and he is a beast. You look at his just look at him. And the warriors look like, i dont know, i mean, steph, it was like he had a personal vendetta against steph curry where he was blocking his shots. I agree with you. It wasnt the same steph. I dont know what happened with the steam down the stretch. It certainly didnt look like the same steph to me. But lebron, i mean, he was one of those it was one of those transcendent finals performances really. Game changer right there. I would put this in the top five. He was the unanimous mvp obviously for the finals. I would put this top five all time in terms of finals. Three players have ever had a tripledouble in game 7. He is one of them. Almost religioused a triple double for the series. Were the cavs hungrier . They cruised through the eastern conference playoffs. They did. They took two games to ramp up to the warriors level. A big moment. Some players show up for big moments. You see this in sports all the time. Draymond green had a big game. He did. Some of the other guys, i mean, i hate it say it, harrison and barns and festus ezeli, the moment was too big for them. Yeah, barnes was 5for3 it the last three games. He totally faded into the background. He hit that one threepointer to start the game yesterday, and then it was like he went oh for his next five. Klay and steph. Lets talk about the superstars. The only superstar that showed up two really kyrie and lebron. Draymond superstar status possibly. He matched lebron last night. Draymond was phenomenal. He tried to save the warriors season here. I was surprised. I was at the game. I was surprised that the warriors were so close the entire game. 20 ties. 11 lead changes. We finally got an incredible finals game in terms of, you know in terms of closest. Let me just say this. Lebron i mean, steph and klay, they didnt have good games and they just needed one of them. Yeah. But i go back to the season. You talked about mike said cleveland got to cruise through. Because the warriors the season, i felt like this, there were so many big moments. It wasnt like now you have to show up for this moment. Now you got to show up for this moment. Now you got to its a long season like that. How many games you are like, this is it. There were so many things whether it was steph currys threepoint total. The number of wins. They werent there for the big moment. They didnt look like they were having fun. It looked like they were stressed, you know . The thing about the warriors that is so fun to watch is they are always laughing and smiling. The joy was gone. I think its been heavy, you know. Yeah. So if they hadnt gone for 73, lets say they lost games early in the season, would they have been fresher at the scene . Thats a whole lot of basketball to play for two years straight. I think the question to ask is would steph have gotten hurt . That was a fluke injury. He wouldnt say it because you know, he is great human being by all accounts. He just stepped up to the podium last night and wouldnt make any excuses. He was given the chance to say now that the series is over, how is your knee . He said i didnt play well. Its going to haunt him, he said. I dont think, to answer your question, not in stephs case. He was the big problem in the series. We were waiting for him to have that superstar take over the game moment. There was one superstar, and that was lebron. Steph i think, we saw him slip in houston. Fluke injury. I dont know if we will ever know how much that knee was bothering him. I have a feeling, though, it was bothering him. We saw more people with the San Francisco department of building inspectors arrive here, the scene of this devastating fire that happened over the weekend here on mission and 29th street. They are here checking out the Structural Integrity of the buildings that are left behind. But the question remains, guys, on the exact cause of this fire. But residents are waiting word when or if they will be able to return together any belongings. But this fire happened saturday afternoon after two, was intense as you have seen from video from earlier. Six buildings in total involved, including many apartment units, a bar, a Hardware Store as well. Speaking of the owner of cole Hardware Store, he spoke to us earlier. His store took the brunt of the fire damage. He says the for first opened in 1984 and that his daughter was working in the store when the fire started. Luckily, all of his employees made it out okay. All of the residents living nearby. He says in terms of the damage, he says he was in tears when he saw it. Keep the hose lines out right here and ready just in case another fire breaks out, and we will be near handle it. We usually do it for 24 hours after a big fire. Reporter now, the San Francisco chronicle is reporting this morning that residents living at the at a hotel called the graywood had filed more than 50 complaints over the past 20 years resulting in numerous citations. Some of those citations include things from a heating system being installed without a permit, Circuit Breakers tripping up and complaints of wastewater coming into the units. Again, it remains unclear the exact cause of the fire. As you take it back out here live, many of the inspectors are out here this morning again checking on the strucktual integrity. Eight days ago agents say the gunman responsible for the shooting placed a call from inside the pulse nightclub to the Orlando Police and confessed to the crime. The fbi says omar mateen speak in arabic to a 911 dispatcher and demanded that the u. S. Stop bombing syria and iraq while declaring himself a soldier. The killer 49 and the shooter 53 others identified himself as an islamic soldier who pledged allegiance to a terrorist organization which was bent on killing americans. He does not represent the religion of islam, but a preverted view which based on what we know today was inspired by extremist killers. The fbi also says there is no evidence mateen was directed by any foreign terrorist group. U. S. Attorney general Loretta Lynch will travel to orlando tomorrow to get an update on the investigation. That shooting happened days in lbgt pride month, and now celebrations are seeing increased security. Joining us now to talk about sf pride is sam singer representing lbgt pride or sf pride, i should say. Is there going to be more security . I have been down there. Usually, there is already a lot of security. A Million People come every year to sf pride, the parade and celebration. This year, in light of the terrorist attack in orlando, there will be Additional Police officers. They will be very visible. The most important thing people can do, as in any other situation, is if you see something, say something. We have our own Security Officers as well as sfpd. 48th annual. Its been going on for a long time. Its always been this, you know, solidarity event and there has been a lot of talk about the theme and social justice and racial justice. When this happened, everyone felt heavy and they took a couple of days to try to figure out how San Francisco would react. Are there changes this weekend in reaction to what happened in orlando . The attack on the Lbgt Community as well as american democracy in orlando was so shocking and overwhelming that it really has cast a cloud over everyone in america and over all democracies. In particular, the Lbgt Community. I think one of the things thats gonna happen this weekend is an unusual thing. I think there will be a memorialization of people that lost their lives. This is a celebratory event for the Lbgt Community. There will be an interesting mixture of those two memorializing and honoring people who gave their lives for nothing more than gathering together in a nightclub and being gay as well as the celebration of the Community Many many civil rights victories the last several years. Soon after the shooting, a man was found with ammunition, guns, so forth, threatened pride festivities in l. A. That was here in california. Was there any talk of canceling the festivities, especially the parade . Good question. This has always been a public event. Its open to the public. Its very important. Its one of the largest in the world. Its an iconic event. There was never any discussion. We would be giving in terrorism. We would be giving you talk about the cloud and how it kind of hangs over all of us. I mean, it does feel heavy. How do you keep that cloud . You know, there is this saying that everyone keeps saying love wins. How do you not turn this into something that is, you know, just so heartbreaking and turn it into a celebration . Well, we have to memorialize those who gave their lives. Thats going to be a big part of the ceremony. You know, and there is an incredible amount of celebration that goes on in this. Much like an irish wake, you can memoriallize and remember the dead, but the dead also want you to move on and enjoy and express the freedoms that they had and not let them die because one man or one philosophical group took them from you. There is go to be visible security. Are we going to see uniformed officers, plainclothed officers, and is the fbi involved in the security here in San Francisco . A lot of questions there, mike. A lot of questions. I got one minute. All right. So, you know, i cant talk about every place sfpd will be. They will be more visible at the parade. You cant say if i cant say if they will be in clubs and bars. Its probably a good idea and chances are they will be. The fbi has reached out, as well as other federal Law Enforcement agencies, to be of assistance. There is going to be a lot of security at the 46th annual this weekend. It will be as fun as ever. There will be a memorial for those who lost their lives, and its important to note that there will be additional security measures that the mayor is going to announce at 10 30 this morning along with sfpd. Here in the bay area that means wildfires are a concern today because of the hot weather. Ktvus janine de la vega is live in san jose where temperatures are expected to reach close to 90 degrees today. Janine. Reporter yeah, right now, you know, its 9 30 and its almost 70 degrees. It feels pretty good. We are here up in the east hills right above san jose. But you can see here right next to me, there is a lot of yellow vegetation. Its very dry. Down here on the ground you can see they cleared back some of it to prevent fire from happening. Now, the inland areas here are expected to reach the 80s and 90s. Livermore, morgan hill and gilroy are going to be the hottest. Calfire is on alert. There are some hazardous weather warnings in effect. While the bay area did receive rain this winter, the hills are still dry. Humidity is low. So that adds to the fire risk. Calfire says 95 of wildfires are started by people. So on their website they are offering advice on how to prevent them. Allen rock park is one of the spots firefighters watch. They were there earlier this morning. We spoke to people who live nearby about the hot weather and its impact, i just try to stay out of the heat. I have stuff to do outside. I do it in the morning. Rubbing two rocks together with ignite. A glass shining on a rock near the leaves in the side, its that simple. People dont realize how quick it can happen and how devastating it can be. Reporter in Southern California firefighters work to control several fires, including the sherpa fire in Santa Barbara county that has scorched 8,000 fires. The silver Lake District in los angeles, a fire there came dangerously close to home. And fire in san diego near the Mexican Border prompted evacuations. Here in Northern California, there are no red flag warnings in effect. Firefighters are monitoring conditions to see if any of that is going to change. Janine de la vega. Building permits in East Palo Alto for several Major Projects are on hold because there is not enough water. It includes a 120 unit housing complex on weeks street. A new private School Funded by Mark Zuckerberg on university avenue. A new Office Building on bay road. East palo alto is allotted two million gallons of water a day from the San FranciscoPublic Utilities commission, but it needs about a million and a half more a day to keep up with increased demand. The city is now asking for more water. They want a way for other cities not using full allotments to transfer their extra water to East Palo Alto and other cities that may need it. The race for the white house. There is word that downtown has just fired his campaign manager. Corey lewandowski had been by trumps side since the beginning. His president ial campaign. A source says lewandowski was forced out largely because of his poor relationship with republican leaders. He also clashed with the experts brought it to make Trumps Campaign more professional. Meanwhile, Vice President joe biden is expected to criticize trumps views on Foreign Policy this afternoon in washington. Biden says, quote, bullying is not a Foreign Policy. Biden says plans to deliver a point by point rebuttal of trumps ideas on immigration, terrorism and relations with russia. And democratic president ial candidate Bernie Sanders still hasnt endorsed Hillary Clinton or quit the campaign. But he is promising to help defeat donald trump. Democrats preparing for an all out advertising attack on donald trump in the coming months. They are getting ready to drop more than 40 million worth of commercials in swing states. The Supreme Court rejected challenges to assault weapons bans in connecticut and new york this morning. The court is beginning this week to announce decisions on the remaining cases for this session. Three of the most closely watched cases include ones on abortion, immigration and affirmative action. The Supreme Courts work is complicated by the fact that they have been operating with eight justices skins justice scholarship scholarship died in february. President obama used his trip to yosemite to tout his conservation issue. He said every american should take advantage ever the National Parks. We have a watch theft caught on tape. Yeah, so what you have here is you have the suspect who walked inside a store and wanted to look at high end watches. In this particular case, this was a rolex. He was able to get the clerk to let him put the watch on and try to out. As you can carefully see in the video, as he is looking at it and he is watching himself in the mirror, he is watching that door. And once he sees that the door is clear, he quickly just runs out of the door and hes out of the store before you even know it. Reporter how much is this watch worth . This valued at over 13,000. Thats a hefty price to try on a watch. Reporter carlos, we see on the video the guy who apparently was in the store with him, he just stays there. What do we know about him . Again, we cant assume this person knew what was going on and he was there to try to help him. He may have been his friend and they were hanging out and he didnt tell him. Unless we have proof, we cant pin anything on him or speculate on that case. Reporter youre talking about when someone test drives a car, typically you hand over your drivers license. In this case, nothing like that happened . So one of the things you cant do, right, you ask yourself, how can we prevent this from happening. Go to a car dealership and test drive a car, they ask you for your drivers license. Let me hold on to this. Go ahead and test drive this vehicle. If the person runs out the door, we know who to look for. We know who they are, their name, and we have some type of trail to investigate. Or what you can do is maybe have one of your clerks stand by the front. Door. Give them the illusion you are there to stop them or block them, whether its your policy or within your policy to stop them or not stop them. At least that person may think twice before committing this crime and consider going to another location or coming back at a later time. New this morning we are learning that four people, including three highranking members of the new york police department, were arrested in connection with two ongoing corruption investigations. A News Conference was held just about an hour ago about these charges in new york city. Take a listen. Today we allege two separate and serious criminal schemes involving the bribery of officers who were sworn to uphold the rule of law. In one private citizens we allege spent over 100,000 for allmaner of official police actions, and in the other officers subverted Public Safety by putting hard to get gun licenses eventually up for sale. The fbi says it arrested the three officers at their homes early this morning. They are all facing charges of accepting gifts from influential businessmen in exchange for favors, including arranging arrests, speeding up gun applications, and making tickets disappear. The faa is leading the investigation into a deadly plane crash on some bart tracks in hayward. The pilot was killed after his small plane crashed onto the transfer tracks near the bart maintenance yard just after noon yesterday. The pilot was the only person on board. We spoke to one man who ran to the crash site and helped pull the pilot from the wreckage. He did not want to give us his full name. When that plane crashed there was nothing else we could do other than hope we could have got him out sooner. Unfortunately, in this case, there was nothing else we can do for him. Lets talk about ticketmaster because millions of ticketmaster customers getting offers for cheaper tickets. Its part of a classaction lawsuit that from 2003. Ticketmaster was accused of charging excessive fees. It led to this 45 million settlement. Taylor swift and u2 are now among the dozens of musicians and songwriters who have added their names to an open letter to congress. They are calling on congress to rewrite the terms and conditions that youtube and other webbased music platforms use to share music. Swift has been a leader in taking action to ensure that singers and songwriters are fairly compensated for their work. Latest complaint argues to congress that youtube, which is owned by google, doesnt give them a real choice about how their music is used and shared. Youtube argues it generates billions of dollars for the Music Industry, helps give exposure to aspiring performers, and has sophisticated tools in place that make it easy for music owners to control their work. Sony, universal and warner have taken out ads that discuss this letter to congress. This is all taking place, interestingly enough, at the same time that the music labels are discussing renewing Licensing Agreements with youtube. Certainly having these big names like taylor swift is going to give the performers more leverage. It does seem a difficult thing. Even if we agree it should be controlled, how you control it. What i dont get is nowadays why would you buy a record whether you just go to youtube and play it . Right. And youtube will play it any any device. Thats the problem. I mean, i havent bought a cd in how long. I have pandora at home. Spotify. Thats what the problem is. That is the problem. They are not making the exposure and then you go on tour. True.
