Today marks day two of the investigation into a vallejo house fire that killed a five yearold boy. Police and fire officials are at the house and they have a specially trained dog that could alert investigators if there is evidence the fire was deliberately set. Christian kafton is live at the scene. Is there any word how long this investigation is likely to take . Reporter yeah. We dont know exactly how long the investigation is going to take. We have heard that they are about halfway through with their initial walk through. Their preliminary investigation. You see some activity outside of the home right now. There are investigators inside the home as well. Its going to last at least a few more hours. Specially trained k9s were brought in to sniff for signs of accelerant. The fire claimed the life of a fiveyearold. Investigators are looking to see if the fire was set on purpose. There were some Amazing Stories of air him as people tried to fight their way into that home trying to save that boy inside. Neighbors called 911 after the mother that lived in that home rushed out at 10 00 yesterday morning saying they are child was trapped inside. The mother of the fiveyearold and they are teenage son made it out of the home, but that fiveyearold boy never made it out of a back bedroom. Neighbors got in the home. One man crawled inside on his stomach and sprayed the house down with a hose trying to get that to young man. The fiveyearold died by the time fire crews found him. The mother suffered second and thirddegree burns. Now, as we have been telling you, investigators on the scene here looking for evidence of arson. The mother did tell neighbors that she and the father of her children had been in an argument before the fire. Investigators are looking to see if there is any connection between that dispute and the fire that broke out here yesterday morning. Fire and Police Investigators here on scene. The mother told bystanders that her husband was in the house before that fire started but he was nowhere to be seen during the firefight. We have learned his body was not located inside that burned out building. So still a lot of questions. Very intense Investigation Underway here in vallejo. In the past hour so Baltimore Police officer edward nero was found not guilty of assault and other charges in the arrest of freddie gray. Gray died after being hurt while in police custody. Nero here one of Six Police Officers charged. Prosecutors said nero unlawfully arrested gray and that he was negligent by putting him in the back of a police van without a seat belt. According to an autopsy gray died from a spinal your following his arrest. Neros turn said he didnt arrest gray and it was the drivers responsibility to buckle in detainees. Near ehas been found not guilty of assault and other charges. The chp is searching for the person who fired shots in richmond last night. It happened just after 5 30 on the westbound side of the freeway near regatta boulevard. Authorities are not sure if anyone was hit. They are searching for victims. There have been several shootings on bay area freeways, and police think some are gang related. Anyone with information is asked to call the chp. Sausalito Police Arrested a paroleee who was seen looking into homes and knocking on doors. Tuesday morning officers were called about a suspicious person Walking Around crescent avenue between main street and sausalito boulevard. 28yearold derek auver was arrested. He was about to be sentenced for two other burglaries last year in napa county. Jerry hill and supporters are going to rally at the State Capitol today for a bill that would require ignition interlock device. Its set for a state Senate Appropriations committee here on friday. Senator hill says the bill must be passed by that day in order to be brought to the full senate for consideration. Identities the breath of a driver and prevent a car from starting if the driver has been drinking. Right now there is a Pilot Program requiring the devices in four counties, including in alameda. The search continues for the black boxes aboard the plane in last weeks egyptair crash. It went down into the Mediterranean Sea on thursday with 66 people on board. Investigators say they still dont know why that plane went down. Some members of congress say there is evidence of a terrorist attack, but egypts president says its too early to speculate. The crash raised new concerns about Airport Security overseas as well as right here at home. We have enhanced security at last point of departure airports. As lee martinez tells us, Toney Chaplin talked about the need for communication, the need to rebuild trust, and he says he is not afraid to cut ties with officers who arent on board. And this past thursday two officers shot and killed Jessica Williams after she alleged by fled in a stolen car. Chief chaplin says changes will be coming to the Police Department quickly under his watch, including if he has to, getting rid of officers. Some get it right away. Those are the officers that go to the schools and they do what they are supposed to do. Some get it sooner or later. Those are the ones that they may slip up a little bit. We can train them. Some never get it. Those are the ones we want to send to the commission with the recommendation they be separated from the Police Department. The warriors need curry to be the mvp. Right now he is getting outplayed by russell westbrook. So every time the warriors have had their backs against the wall the last couple of years, they have responded. I think warriors fans can take solace in the fact that they are probably going to respond tomorrow because its their track record. Lets talk about that kick. Sure. Because everybody else is talking about it. The warriors came out last night and seem seemed to be on a minute even pr campaign to, you know, trying to say, hey, this wasnt intentional. Draymond was very contrite. What do you think happened here . Heres the problem. It has very little to do with intent. And it has to do with whether the nba considers that a natural basketball act. If they consider it a non basketball act, then he is looking at how many times do you see that . You i cant. You see it once in a while. I do think its impossible to judge intent on this. And i agree with sal. When you slow it up, it looks bad. A lot of times what players do is try to sell the foul and they do whats known as flailing and they flail their arms and legs out. Thats what ended up happening. Now the warriors have to play the waiting game. You talked about steph curry coming up. I looked at box score. No player on the team had more than three assists. I think everyone on that bench and the starters need toes the ball around more. One particular example that they really do need to get better at. No doubt. No doubt. And that was the problem in game one, too. One of the problems with the warriors is they are so good at making tough shots and long shots and contested shots that sometimes when they get down in a game, thats what they rely on because its worked for them in the past. But it hasnt worked so far for them in this series. But they have just got youre right, mike. They have to move the ball and get open shots. They are taking quick ones now and contested ones. And they werent running. Right. The thunder were making shots. Exactly. Another thing is their defense seems to be letting Oklahoma City go to the basket at will. Whats up with that . I think thats from bad shot selection. On a play like this, a block at the rim, Draymond Green coming back late on defense and it causes a fastbreak type situation. Its important the warriors score more efficiently. When any dont, the warriors, one of the best fastbreaking teams in the league. After that drumming last night i sat there and begged, contemplating, who has the better shot of making into the final . The sharks or warriors . I started saying, you know, its a threegame series. If the sharks can steal one in st. Louis and come home for a clencher, it would be nice. In hockey and basketball, there is no such thing as momentum. They win the next two. So it feels like they are in control and they come back home and get hammered. You throw the last game out always because everythings new once a new game starts. And the sharks are closer right now. They got two wins and the warriors only have one. So right now the sharks are probably in a better position. I know in hockey, sometimes coaches tend to play the hotter player, no matter at what point in the series youre in and thats whats going on with the goalie, brian elliott, who is sitting in favor of jake allen. Yeah. What is interesting is that jo pawveski said after the game he thought the sharks got a little too cute. Thats the same things the warriors are accused of at times. When they get a lead, they try to get fancy, make the spectacular play. Maybe the sharks were feeling good, being up 21, got complacent and this is what happens. I really do think the warriors are going to be okay because i think they respond well after a loss. The sharks, a short series. Both coaches can bring their team back. So you think that thats going to play a role . Yeah. I just think that the warriors, they have been down 21 before. Last year twice in the playoffs to memphis and to cleveland. They came back and won three straight both times. Hard to imagine the warriors winning three straight right now, but they have done it before and there is no reason they cant do it again. An investigation has begun. Today is the deadline for californians to register to vote for the june 7th president ial primary, but supporters of Bernie Sanders, they are suing. They want to extend that deadline until election day. The lawsuit is claiming there is a lot of confusion about the states president ial primary rules, especially for voters who are registered as no party preference. They claim many voters dont know they can request a democrat ballot. If they dont they will get a primary ballot with no president ial candidates. Now to a story we have been following for hours through mornings on 2. There is major delays to report on caltrain after a man was hit and killed by a train this morning in burlingame. At one point buses were being used to get people where they needed to go. Ktvus alex savidge is at the scene to talk about the work thats happening now. Alex. Looks like we lost him. We have already heard oh, go ahead, alex. Reporter we going . Good morning to you guys. Yeah, let me give you the update from the scene in burlingame. We have both sides of the tracks now back open this morning. Let me show you what is going on here. There is still some cleanup work happening and trains are coming through here, but they are coming through this area quite slowly. You probably just heard one come through a short time ago. So the word for commuters is that there will be still some delays this morning as a result of an apparent suicide that happened here where a man was struck and killed near the oak grove avenue crossing in the city of burlingame. This is just north of the burlingame station. And it happened at 6 30 this morning. This man was hit by the northbound 305 train in what the San Mateo CountySheriffs Office describes as an intentional act. He intentionally stepped in the path of that train. This is the sixth time a person has been hit and killed by a caltrain so far this year. As authorities investigated the circumstances of what happened here, all trains were initially stopped in this area and a bus bridge was set up. Certainly it was a hassle for commuters. But some took it in stride. People started leaving. I didnt know. So i checked my iphone and what are you going to do . Reporter what are you going to do now . Get the bus bridge or try to get to bart. Reporter so commuters had to figure a way around this closure here. Some people got on the bus. Some people just drove. Some people took their bikes. The bus bridge has since been canceled and there are now trains running slowly through this area. Both sides of the tracks back open in burlingame. Back out here live, you see the safety gates that shut and block someone who is walking from getting across the tracks when a train is coming through this area. Caltrain representative told me a short time ago those gates were working. They were operational this morning. And again this does appear to have been an intentional act. It appears as though this man intentionally stepped into the path of this train in an apparent suicide this morning. Again they are now running trains through this area, trying to get everything sort of back up to speed here after really some major delays this morning on the caltrain system here on the peninsula, you guys. All right. Thank you. This morning we are learning more about the death of keith green. The millbrae father of who whose body was found a week ago in Sonoma County. Police arrested tiffany lee, greens exgirlfriend. Greens roommate reported him missing april 28. A hiker found his cell phone the next day. His body ucephan may 11 on the Sonoma County freeway. Jail officials tell ktvu tiffany lees current boyfriend has also been arrested in connection with greens death. Buying and selling items on craigslist can be handy way to pick up extra cash, but there are risks to making deals with strangers. According to advanced Interactive Media group, more than 100 people have been killed as a result of interactions from the site. Ktvus henry lee tells us about the creation of safe zones to keep those deals from turning violent. Reporter want to sell something but dont want to do it at your house or a strangers. Try the Exchange Zone outside of the pittsburg Police Department. Its a simple concept. You know, if you want to purchase something on the internet and dont feel comfortable going to somebodys house, come to the Police Department. We have two parking stalls that are marked. Identifiable. If its in the nighttime, its a well lit area right in front of the Police Department. And its under 24 hour surveillance. So it adds an extra safety to your transactions when you conduct business on the internet. Reporter officers wont be there during the transaction, but there is plenty of them Walking Around, and the surveillance cameras are directly linked to a monitoring station inside the Police Department. There havent been any so called craigslist robberies of note in pittsburg. In the bay area victims have been lured and held up. Police call these robberies by appointment. Here in pittsburgh the idea is to take that out of the equation. These two stalls are designed for you to take the fear out of conducting business. So utilize them. Its a great idea. Last week when acting police chief Toney Chaplin introduced himself, he said some details will would be coming out as early as today. We do know that the chief held a Community Meeting over the weekend that seemed to receive a good response. The big question right now that a lot of people have is will there be a town hall meeting. Former chief greg suhr made it mandatory in an effort to provide transparency. No one knows if chief chaplin will continue that tradition. The City Attorney is suing a landlord who apparently let his properties in the Richmond District and nob hill crumble. Pretty disgusting conditions. Rodents, mold, broken doors and wednesday. According to the examiner, wong reportedly ignored several Building Code violations issued by the department of building inspection over the past few years.
