Some ups workers in San Francisco are having a difficult time dealing with wednesdays shooting the left for employees that including the gunman. Many coworkers are calling in sick because they are so frightened and grief stricken. There is a memorial outside the warehouse where the attack happened. Sources say the gunman jimmy lam shot and killed benson louie then wayne chan followed by two drivers who were shot and then survived. He then killed the third victim mike lefiti. Its like being in that situation and then seeing people that you work with on a daily basis and then they are gone the three victims are being remembered as friendly and dedicated workers who gave to the community. Benson louie was a popular volleyball coach. A group of his players went to honor him. We dont know the motive for the shooting but were learning more about the gunman jimmy lam. According to one ups driver he suffered from depression. He had been sad in the weeks leading up to the shooting. That same coworker told us that jimmy lam was involved in a dispute with an exgirlfriend about visitation rights for their child. Public records show he was arrested at least twice in 2010 and 2013 on dui charges. Coworkers say he was not a ups driver at that time. He was loading and unloading packages. Two men charged in connection with the ghost ship warehouse fire are due in court. Derek and maximally enter pleas. Both men face 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. One count for each person who died in the fire. Harris is accused of helping him sublet the space. It gives more money to schools, expands a tax credit for low income workers and settled the dispute over how to spend more than 1 billion in tobacco tax revenue. Most of that money will go to doctors, dentists and others who provide quickly funded health care. 45 billion in the state budget will go toward undocumented immigrants of facing deportation. According to the la times that will be used to expand Legal Defense services in response to the Trump Administration policies. It will preserve money for a separate program that gives legal help to undocumented children who arrive in the us alone. And Immigration Program intended to protect the program of us citizens and children from being deported was formally canceled.
