Traffic looks okay on the bridge itself but the traffic is slow because of the metering light thats were on. People have to cycle through and it will take time for it get better. Marijuana smokers across the country are celebrating 4 20. A number of states have legalized marijuana. Last year it was legalized here in california as well as alaska, maine, massachusetts and nevada. It was legalized in washington, d. C. 2015. Several other states have decriminalized the small amounts of marijuana. People have gathered for an Unofficial Party at Golden Gate Park. Many hope this years event will be less chaotic. Reporter thats because for the first time there is a group that is unofficially sponsoring this event. And a group of merchants have the neighborhood have invested 100,000 to pay for things like fences, Security Guards, medical personnel and the big thing that people have pointed out this morning, porta potties. They are lining hippy hill where most of the festivities and guests gather. The merchants paying for these features hope that they will diminish some of the concerns about trash and sanitation that residents in the area have long complained about and they will hopefully prevent the event from getting shut down altogether by the city. With the new additions come new rules. For the first time, people will have to go through security gates and asked not to bring grass containers or bongs. No barbecues or tents allowed. No loud speakers allowed. This year is strictly 18 years and up. No kids allowed. San Francisco Police will be working with Child Protective Services to make sure that no one under age is at the gathering. A tshirt vendor says he likes the fact that there is more organization to the party this year. Thats a very good idea. Why . Because it will help clean the area. A woman says her nephew never heard the intruder break in because he was wearing headphones. Her nephew was shot in the chest and he is listed in stable condition. He was able to call the police. Others say their homes were burglarized yesterday. Homeowners were told by police to stay inside. So far the shooter is still on the loose. Conservative commentator an colture says she will talk on campus despite concerns from protesters. She is receiving 20,000 for the speech. They expected 300 people to tend. They plan to announce a new venue next week. She addressed the situation last night on fox news with host tucker carlson. I called their bluff and they didnt have another reason to cancel me. Police were criticized after a demonstration against an appearance of Milo Yiannopoulos turned violent. Two trump administrators are heading to the border to see the security there firsthand. But his border wall could be in jeopardy. Attorney general Jeff Sessions and Homeland Security secretary general john kelly head to texas and california for a closer look at the border today. Sessions focus, stopping what he calls catch and release programs of Illegal Immigrants and building the wall. I think the border wall needs to move rapidly. He also announced an inner Agency Review of the deal. It fails to achieve the objective of a nonnuclear iran and delays it becoming a nuclear state. It really does not achieve the objective. It is another example of buying off a power who has nuclear ambitions. We buy them off for a short period of time and then somebody has to deal with it later. Thats because we had a stalled vehicle that has been gone for more than an hour. Very slow on im sorry it is slow on westbound 80 from the carquinez bridge to the maze. It is taking almost an hour. If you drive from vallejo, hercules and this is your commute, give yourself extra time. It will take you longer today. Bay bridge finally beginning to clear through the traffic but it cant keep up. We have a big backup there. We can use 880 southbound perhaps to go to the san mateo bridge. The bridge is a little slow. Northbound traffic is slowing on 880 by the way up to downtown oakland. South bay, 280 and 101 that is a normal commute where you see normal slowdowns on the way to the west valley. For todays weather, lets bring steve in. Overnight rain. In venezuela, protesters will hit the streets again today after yesterdays demonstrations where two people were killed, hundreds were arrested in the biggest antigovernment demonstrations there in years. Police threw tear gas at those throwing rocks. The demonstrations started three weeks after the Supreme Court stripped the opposition controlled legislature of its powers. That decision was later reversed but the antigovernment protests continue. The president has armed militias. The protesters say they want elections. Well, yesterday the president said he welcomed elections and vowed that his government would defeat the opposition. But he did not set a date for a vote. In the meantime, General Motors has now halted operations in venezuela after authorities there seized a gm factory. It was confiscated yesterday in what gm calls an illegal seizure of its assets. General may tores has been the Market Leader in venezuela for more than 35 years. A meeting between President Trump and pope francis is said to be in the works. That announcement comes as he gets ready for the Prime Minister of italy today at the white house. This would come this would come a year after the pope criticized President Trump. But it slowed everything down at the metering lights and caused a Chain Reaction of slow traffic. Investigators are investigating home burglaries in the oakland hills. One resident was shot in his chest inside of his home near the sequoia country club. Ktvus Christien Kafton is live in the neighborhood where residents were told not to leave their homes for a time. Reporter yeah. Good morning, gasia. This neighborhood looking much, much calmer now than last night. It was buzzing with activity. This morning, were starting to see neighbors waking up and making their way to work. As you said, last night, this neighborhood was under a shelter in place order as police searched for a suspect or suspects who were breaking home in the area and at that time the shooting took place. This all happened around [audio difficulties] it looks like we lost his signal. The headline here is that a man broke into one home and shot someone inside of the home in the chest. Neighbors in the area report their homes had been broken into as well. There was a large police presence. Now it is quiet. We will bring Christien Kafton in to get an update on the search who broke into at least one home in the oakland hills. A man accused of killing three people in fresno will have his First Court Appearance tomorrow. He is accused of shooting and killing three men in a racially motivated attack. The three men were killed. Mohammed is also accused of killing a Security Guard at a motel last week. Police say he targeted victims because they were white. Police tell us that mohammed has a criminal history as well as a history of mental illness. He stayed in a ravine friday through sunday where he practiced what was described to him as voodoo rituals. He says he is muslim but prays to seven different gods and described one of his gods as aguna. He will be arraigned on four charges of murder. They may seek the death penalty. The coast guard still searching for a missing boater. The man of oakland was reportedly on a boat that capsized yesterday morning about 11 30, about a mile off of the beach. Crews from the chp, Sonoma County and several Fire Departments took part in the search. They found his car keys and wallet inside of the boat. Police in Mountain View need help in searching for a 13 yearold girl. Myra was left seen leaving her middle school yesterday afternoon. The school is on rock street in Mountain View. Police think that myra may have taken Public Transportation to leave the area. She is about 51, 105 pounds, brown hair, browns eyes. This is her photo. If you have any information, call Mountain View police. The Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office is looking for a possible victim in a child molestation case. Authorities released these two photos of the suspect. One from 2014 on the left and a current picture on the right. While the reported abuse happened in north richmond, he also lived in vallejo and fairfield and potential victims may be there. He is being held on 1 million bail. The woman told Campus Police that the man followed her into the Residence Hall late tuesday night and exposed himself and ran away. The man is described as being in his 30s about 510h. , heavy set with black hair. Everyone on campus is being told to be alert. A cable car operator was arrested for allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars in fares from riders. 61yearold Albert Williams faces charges of felony embezzlement. He used schemes to conceal how much he collected every month. The wife of the pulse nightclub shooter in florida will be back in federal court in orlando this morning. Last week, noor salman plead not guilty to charges of knowing about the plan to attack the pulse nightclub and did not do anything to stop him. 34 people were killed and 68 others were hurt during the shooting ram package. She also faces charges of obstruction for misleading fbi agents on the day of the shooting when she was questioned. The trial will begin in june. Happening today in berkeley, if you see a lot of police cars in North Berkeley this afternoon, its probably just a drill. Berkeley police are taking part in training exercises north of the uc Berkeley Campus. People in the area may hear simulated gunfire and see a lot of police cars and ambulances. The police also plan to close down scenic avenue between virginia street and ridge road during this training. It all begins about 1 00 this afternoon. It should end about 3 00 p. M. The city of oakland is reaching out to those forced out of their apartments because of a deadly fire last month. The city has approved to use 600,000 in Community Development money to help those left homeless by the major fire in oakland. They have managed transitional housing for 100 people whose apartments burned in the building. Tenants should start getting Financial Assistance as soon as tomorrow. A woman another the scene told ktvu that the shooting victim is her nephew and he had been inside the home wearing headphones when he was shot in the chest by an intruder. That man, that victim was able to call police for help. Police say he was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition. Other witnesses say that they had their homes broken into around the same time. One woman telling us that burglars were so brazen they broke into one home, stole a beverage and threw the container out in the yard of another home they broke into it. Another neighbor this morning backed up that account. They tried to get into mine. They didnt. They tried to get in the one next to me. They tried to get into the two on the end. A total of three they got into it. It is scary. It is. My dogs are no longer locked up. I have two dogs and they are not friendly. Reporter yeah. That resident telling us that he was definitely unsettled. And as you heard, he is leaving his dogs free to roam his house. A lot missing from our diet are the micro nutrients and fiber. These things can provide easily. Just a handful or two a day can make a difference. Reporter this is Berkeley Open source food week. Stark says food that pops up on its own is more nutritious than what is in the store because todays supermarket greens have been bred for mild taste and texture at the cost of nutrition. Reporter bristly ox tongue as you can tell from the name was a little more challenging. It has pickles and warts and pock marks. And you think why would i put Something Like this in my mouth. It is pokey as i roll it. Yes. But it wont be pokey in your mouth in a second. This is a harder sell for me. It is a harder sell on texture. Right. Thats one of the things that a lot of these things have unfamiliar texture. It doesnt poke your mouth. It is just strange. Reporter everything that we ate was safe to eat. Stark was sure it was clean. Of course there is always that concern. The first concern is what about dog pee. Right. I dont know what to say. Dog pee is water soluble. It washes off. It just rained here this morning heavily. Im not worried about that. Okay. Second it is nontoxic. The dog would have to be really, really sick for it to be a problem. The chance that this particular thing got peed on recently is pretty low. Reporter stark points out that organic produce is fertilized with manure and people pay a premium for it. I wouldnt have eaten without starks guidance and reassurance. At the very least, stark wants people to remember where food comes from before we see it in a plastic bag or in the store. And to keep our minds open to the idea that eating local might start at what is growing in right in front of us. I have to note that foraging is technically not legal. And the traffic is going to be slow as you get to the bay bridge. They had just started speeding the metering lights up too. And now were done with the bay bridge. I mean, i wouldnt go there now. On the peninsula when you get off the bridge, 101 is slow in san mateo. It slows at 30 into San Francisco. What i would do . I would take bart into San Francisco. A man accused of killing three people on tuesday at a shooting ram package in fresno may have his First Court Appearance tomorrow. Mohammed is accused of shooting and killing three men in a racially motivated attack. The three men were killed. Mohammed is also accused of killing a Security Guard at a motel last week. Police say he targeted the victims because they were white. Police say mohammed has a criminal history and a history of mental illness. Oakland police are investigating a series of home burglaries and a shooting that sent one person to the hospital. The resident was shot at his home near the sequoia country club in east oakland. Christien kafton has more information on the search for the gunman. Reporter we have learned that Oakland Police are in a meeting right now discussing this and other high profile cases in oakland. Were hoping to learn more about the investigation as the morning progresses. In the meantime the scene here much quieter than it was last night where this was a beehive of activity as police shut down the neighborhood and searched for the shooter and the shooting left one man injured. It happened around 5 30 yesterday afternoon on chimney rock. Were near keller avenue and skyline boulevard in the oakland hills. A woman at the scene told ktvu that the shooting victim is her nephew and that he had been inside their home wearing headphones when he was shot in the chest by an intruder. Now, the victim was able to call police for help. Police say he was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. Other witnesses tell us that they had their homes broken into around the time of the shooting. One woman telling us this morning that the burglars were so brazen they broke into one home, stole a beverage and then threw that beverage container out into the yard of another home they were trying to burglarize. Another neighbor backed up that account. They tried to get into mine. They didnt. They tried to get in the one next to me. They tried to get in the two on the end. They did get into one on the end and one on the far end. So a total of three they got into it. It is scary. It is. My dogs are not are no longer locked up. I have two dogs. And they are not friendly. Reporter as you can tell, neighbors definitely unsettled by this incident yesterday. Oakland police confirming for us this morning that at this point no arrests have been made. Doctors say a woman charged with killing an explorer with the alameda Sheriffs Office has been found not competent to stand trial. The defense Attorney Says she is not able to understand the criminal case against her. Rogers and her boyfriend are accused of luring the man to a park in east oakland where she was stabbed, beaten and set on fire. Rogers will most likely be ordered to start Mental Health treatment at a state hospital. With earth day approaching, Governor Brown is expected to take on President Trumps attacks on environmental laws. The governor appeared yesterday in sacramento to thank a Nonprofit Group for its support of the measure. It raises gas taxes 12 cents aa gallon to pay for road repairs. The legislature will generate 52 billion over the next ten years. Republicans accused the governor of adding big money projects to districts where he needed the lawmakers vote.
