Shots were fired from a passing car. The three victims were innocent bystanders. The woman is identified and was shot and killed steps away from her house. The two men were shot in the legs, both expected to survive. One man was walking home and the other was working on a cleaning job. Police are checking surveillance cameras looking for clues. Its a bright light and the city has done so many things to cut down on violence. Homicides were in the mid 20s. Back in 2007 it was around 42. This is one aspect of an uplifting of a community. Yesterday a woman was shot and killed and two men wounded in a driveby shooting. Alex savage says the victims were innocent bystanders. Reporter well, many people in this community are afraid after three innocent people were shot yesterday as they walked down the street. One woman was killed. You can see this morning theres a memorial sitting on the sidewalk to honor her. She slifs a few doors down from the spot where she was shot and killed yesterday. This was the third homicide in the neighborhood in just the past six months. It happened after 10 30 yesterday morning at the corner of plymouth and broad street. San Francisco Police say someone fired at least ten shots from a passing car. A woman who has been identified as woo was struck by the gun fire and died from injuries. Two other men shot in the legs but both are expected to survive. One of the men was walking home at the time and the other was doing work for a cleaning company as part of a job for muni. The neighbors say the violence has gotten out of hand you would think youre in a safe neighborhood and Something Like this happens and you dont feel safe anymore. His body was found at Toyon Elementary School last saturday and he had been shot once. No suspects or motive were found. His grandfather last saw him friday night as he went out to see friends. I know i cant bring him back. But if i can get some justice here please, please help me. The family believes someone knows something that could lead to whoever killed him. If you have information call san jose police. This is the 7th homicide in san jose so far this year. Seat belts on buses may soon be required here in california. A new bill was introduced in response to the deadly 2016 Greyhound Bus crash in san jose. The law would require new buses to have seat belts but passengers wouldnt be required to wear them. They voted in favor of the build sending to the Senate Appropriations committee. A head on collision involving a church van and pick up truck in texas. That proposal would bring in 52 billion over the next ten years and part of the money goes to fix local roads and the other half would go to fix state highways and it would come at a cost to drivers in a couple different ways. The gas tax would go up 12 cents per gallon and if passed it would be the first time in 23 years the gas tax has gone up in california. The plan also includes higher vehicle registration fees and for the first time 0 emissions starting in the year 2020. Generally speaking, higher taxes and fees are not a popular idea politically but drivers we talked to so far this morning say they know the roads in our state are in disrepair and they would be paying more to fix them.
