Concerns that firefighters are still dealing with out here, along with, obviously, trying to make sure this fire is completely out. This is an Apartment Building that was under construction. It had just had the siding put on it. Flames were flying up into the air, and there were embers raining down on this neighborhood, as we drove up to this scene. That was of great concern for firefighters. They evacuated about 150 people from neighboring homes and Apartment Buildings we spoke to won woman who lives right across the street. My mom said the block is on fire and im, like, what do you mean . Its just, like, in flames. In flames. And i was just so surprised. A lot of neighbors woke up and essentially felt like their entire street was on fire. Just this building was fully engulfed if flames. Just a massive fire ball here in the middle of what is a very densely packed neighborhood. So you have a lot he of homes on all sides of this building that were threatened by the fires, but it doesnt appear as any neighboring homes were damaged by this fire. They were able to contain it just to this one building. Now oakland firefighters are going to investigate how this fire may have started. Up a its surface, obviously, it would seem suspicious did the project manager give you any indication if there had been any vandalism at the site, anyone entering there and staying overnight as we have seen in construction sites in the past . Reporter yeah, he didnt offer up any information like that. But, you know, it was clear from the brief conversation that we had that he had a sense that this fire may have been set on purpose. Obviously given the fact theres nobody living inside there, burst he just said he had that feeling that somehow someone sit this fire intentionally here. He doesnt know who it may have been or why, but he feels like someone set the fire up a purpose. Thats obviously something that the Fire Department is going to be looking into. Oakland fire has their fire investigator out here now, talking to witnesses, to anyone who may have been in this area. So that will be something they work out through their investigation, but, yeah, the manager of this piece of property is certainly suspicious. All right, thank you. Well bring you back to mornings on 2. People saw what was happening, captured massive flames on camera and shared them with us. Lets take a look at some of the posts. This is taken from miles away. You see the lights circling the lake in the forefront, and then you see just huge flames roaring from that complex. Some said they could actually feel the heat from the fire on their faces. This picture, take been from what appears to be at least a few miles away. I was coming in on 580, and i could see the orange glow from several miles away. So a very serious situation when it comes to the firefight. As we bring in steve, it does appear that the worst of the fire is over, but conditions at least helped a little bit, im guessing. Well, its not windy and dry and hot. Yeah, its been raining, that is so certainly helps them, i think a lot. We had an observer who said he could see it from mount davidson. Moving along to the bay bridge, you can see it is a 20 to 25 minute delay. Traffic continues to move along relatively well, if you are driving out to the commute here, and there have been no major problems. Firefighters checking for hot spots after an Early Morning fire that started about 4 30 this morning on a bar between broadway and brewster. No word of injuries, but the fire caused major dam to that building. It also damage to that building. The fbi says it will work as quickly as it can to go through a cache of new emails that may be linked to the investigation into Hillary Clintons use of a private e mail server during her time as secretary of state. We are looking at this latest issue and how its dominates the president ial campaign. The fbi said it is working with a sense of urgency, but that agency is facing a lot of criticism for releasing this so close to election day. Now, we dont know what the new emails are about, and we probably wont know before election day. Friday is when fbi director james comey sent a letter to congress letting them know about the existence of these e mails. The Clinton Campaign in response publicly condemned his actions. Clintons campaign released a letter signed by 100 former Senior Justice Department officials sharply criticizing the directors decision. Hes come under intense credit inch from former justice apartment officials who said this is entirely a breach of protocol. Reporter Trump Supporters and Congressional Republicans praising comey for alerting them about new information in this investigation. Back in july, he had closed the investigation into clintons private email server, effectively clearing her of any legal wrong doing. They came there for a face to face meet with officers to discuss tensions between police and community members. In 20 minutes, how police say he became along with that boy, even though the boys mother was nearby. Plus a woman found alive after being trapped in her car for five days. Why it took so long to find her, even after she called for help. A Southern California woman who was trapped for five days in ore car has been found alive. Barbara mcfear son was found in her jove turned humvee sunday. A food samaritan called 911 after seeing the wreckage down a steep hill. I got about 20 feet away from that car, and the hair on my neck started to stand up. She was about a hundred feet down from the slope on top of the ridge. Was about a 30degree slope on the ridge, and the car was actually leaning downhill, and was very unstable. She was reported missing five days earlier. Authorities say she used the on star feature in her car to call for help, but when police searched that area, they could havent find her. A man accused of sexually assaulted a teenager with Downs Syndrome in a bart station bathroom is in jail now. It happened at the pittsburgh bay point station. That is where the suspect it was arrested . Reporter that is right, the purported victims family was with that boy here. He was here with his family. He werent in to go use the rest room. The boys mother said she was right outside the door and said that the suspect followed her son right into that bathroom. I knocked on the door, and i called my sons name. All of this unfoiled on saturday evening. She finally had to go get station officials. She said that her sons clothes were in disarray when the suspect opened the door. 38yearold peter warloo, who is in custody right now. As for the 15yearold at the center of all of this, his family said he broke down and told them what had happened after being examined at a vallejo hospital and returned home. As we were driving up to the fire early this morning, obviously we could see it for miles. We also could see embers from this fire raining down on this entire neighborhood, just falling a on to homes and cars nearby. Really amazing that no other homes were damaged by this fire. Firefighters were able to contain it just to this one building. Really incredible work here. This is the Apartment Building, about 40 units or so. Was under construction when it caught fire at about 5 00 this morning. You can see the fire has been knocked town now, but this morning, this was a huge fireball here in the middle of what is a very densely packed neighborhood. Firefighters had to evacuate more than 150 people from neighbors homes, and buildings as they fought these flames. They knocked it down fairly quickly this morning, and early on, there were a couple of concerns for fire crews. First, you have a building under construction surrounded by scaffolding, and so there were concerns about sections of this building collapsing, which did end up happening. Thankfully, no firefighters were hurt. Nobody living near by it was hurt either. Has was the good news, but it was a scary moment for people who live in this area. It just totally went up, and started packing a bag, and we all started getting pets out, and our cars out, and so, yeah, then the firefighters came into our building to fight the fire from that side. We initially had a crew go around and make sure that the embers were not catching any houses on fire, and right now we have a walking crew making sure the embers are not going anywhere, as well. Reporter yeah, and there were embers falling down on to homes and cars nearby, but, again, firefighters say they drove around through this neighborhood near this huge fire, just trying to make sure that none of those other homes would catch fire, and in the end, they were able to con tin taken it just to this one apartment contain it just to this one Apartment Building. Portions of it have come down. We also can show you that right here, you have the scaffolding. This piece of scaffolding here at a certain point just sort of collapsed and fell right over on to the home right next door. So thats what firefighters are dealing with at this point is the concern as they continue to put water on the fire, theyre concerned about more sections of it collapses. Im speaking with the manager of this piece of property. He said that this Apartment Building was about 40 units or so. It was set to be completed just about four months from now, and obviously in terms of a cause, this seems somewhat suspicious on its surface. Cal tran is starting to remove some tries long highway 101 in Sonoma County that were damaged in a fire last month. Investigators say a cigarette discarded from a car was the likely cause of the fire it. Started right on the side of the highway and ignited the trees, and then spread to a nearby neighborhood.
