Reporter it has been lifted, and i think the reason why is we have been on here for several hours and we do not smell anything. It is fresh air out here right now. So we have not found anything of the unusual, in fact we havent smelled anything at all. They put that advisory out there last night to shut your windows, turn off your error, and if you did have that turn off your error air. They complained of having a metallic taste in their mouth, and headaches. And, before 8 pm last night, they described a gas chemical smell. And, they said it reached 500 calls about the strange strong odor. And, in glen cove and beverly hills, which are in south alejo, and again, we said that several people had checked into the hospital, it said that the smell was a strong case of rotten eggs. They activated as Emergency Operation center and they were told to shut the windows. And, we had to move about 20 patients. What about seven ambulances we had about seven ambulances on screen. Thats reporter still, officials do not know what has caused the smell. They have ruled out that it was a chemical type smell coming from the refineries they also ruled out that it was a gas leak , pg e in the Fire Department when around with mobil gas detectors yesterday all over vallejo and they did not find any unusual levels of natural gas. So at this point they still do not what caused the strange smell. The coast guard is going to be going out this morning to take a look at those oily sheen scene. And, we will try to find out if it is in fact that, that was causing the smell. But at this point, they said that they believe that whatever caused the smell did not come from the alejo, it came from outside of the city. As always, our officers tried to facilitate, demonstrations and protests. They protect the rights of our citizens. But, when that behavior becomes violent, aggressive, and destructive, we have to act. He was waiting on his son to get off the bus. This man is disabled. He was shot and killed. Investigators recovered a gun at the scene but his family says that he was not armed. The mayor is now asking for calm and promising a thorough investigation into the shooting. Now, the Washington Post reports that they have killed at least 702 people 163 of them were africanamericans. Reporting live in the newsroom. And, they had a decent shower go through the Sierra Nevada. The system coming in from the north is going to sweep us out of here. And, the breeze and cooler temperatures are on their way. And i came by yesterday morning, i didnt smell anything and i didnt even know about the whole gas problem until that evening. So, im not sure if that was the reason for yesterdays phillies. And as you heard, it can take another extra 45 minutes to get into San Francisco. We had called the ferry dispatch this morning and they said because at some of the investigations going on about this potential oil leak shane that is seen oily sheen that is seen on the water, they are investigating. And, they havent they may or may not load up in the ferry. All right, now we are seeing more traffic because of what you mentioned. On the east shore freeway. I know that we have had several accidents along the stretch of 80. And, you will see that traffic is going to be busy. It is taking 15 minutes to drive that stretch. Some people may be tempted to take the car but its not a great time to drive that stretch of 80. And, if you go that far, he will see slow traffic at the toll plaza. And you can see that traffic is going to be busy as you drive to the bridge. And when you get onto the bridge it has been slow. Other bridges, it is now busy. And on the way over to the peninsula, and on the peninsula we have had traditional slow traffic running into mountain view. Most of it is northbound 101 coming from san jose but some of it is southbound 101 for palo alto. So that commute is beginning to get very slow. 7 34 am, lets go back to the desk the Walnut Creek City Council has opposed opposition for legalized marijuana. Joining us now in my city leaders are taking such a strong stance. Good morning. The police chief is the one who urged the city council to go on the record here opposing prop 64. The chief says, in california were lawmakers have legalized pot, Public Safety has been compromised. There have been increases in accidents, traffic collisions. And, i would hate to see that occur here. , they share concerns they share concerns if they give the green light to Recreational Marijuana. They would permit smoking pot in public cultivating more than six plant and selling to anyone under 21 years of age however, they said they are concerned that there are no regulations for prosecuting people who drive while high. In the end, they did vote for to one. It on the community, 41. But in the community they expressed support. Remise will have it on the same level as cigarettes or alcohol. And you know, being able to tax it. I just think that it is going to be legalized sooner or later and i dont see what the big deal is. The dragon lady jett was based near marysville and it was on a training flight with two pilots and it crashed about 15 miles north of the base. It started a brush fire in the sutter butte mountains. One pilot was injured, but the second pilot died. Their names and hometowns have not been released. It was designed for high out the two flights that High Altitude flights. I would put that up against any other aircraft. Were going to continue flying these around the world and aroundtheclock. These incidents, while extremely tragic and hard to overcome, they are incidents that we do overcome. The air force uses those jets 24hour day Surveillance Missions. A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against the city, the complaint says that they violated the rights of false arrest, battery, Excessive Force, denial of medical care, and violation of due process. The officers who shot him said that they thought he was reaching for a handgun in his waistband. It was determined he was not armed. That lawsuit speaks unspecified damages. A judge has rejected a legal request by the man accused of killing sierra lamarr. They wanted the judge to hold a separate trial an attempted kidnapping charges. And those cases are from 2009, and involve three other women. Garcia is all ready charged with murder in the case of sierra lamarr she vanished on her way to school in 2012. Some firefighters have been transferred out of their station after claims that they repeatedly harassed a female coworker. And, they will be ready for january and july this year. It included claims of talking and urinating in a female coworkers that. They say the department of resources investigated the claims but would not say how many firefighters are involved. They cited deficiencies in leadership that allowed this harassment to continue and ordered all officers to be transferred to a different station. And, it is very slow from the alejo, is taking almost an hour to drive from the alejo, and you have to from vallejo. And, we had a lot of slow traffic. You see all of the freeways getting to the west valley are jampacked. Fortunately, we have not had any major accidents. And, this is near camden avenue. There was an accident there. Millennium Developers Argue that the building is 100 safe and has been approved by the city regardless of any thinking. No one knows what caused that smell that sent dozens of people to the hospital. The firefighters tell us that a mass situation was pinned was declared. The smell is so bad that people said it was like rotten eggs it gave them headaches. And, we apologize we are having a bit of a problem, she is reporting about what so many of you called last night. A strange smell. She was telling us about the vallejo ferry. Lets head over from wind that transit situation. And that means that they have to be on interstate 80 and that slow commute heading out to the macarthur maze which is very slow at this time. So once you get out to the bridge, another 10 minutes into the city. Some people may be crossing that, there is a line there and, we are seeing a lot of so traffic. They swarmed a police car. And, we are here with a look at all of the unrest in shooting that preceded it. Yes, a tough night. And police are hoping that is not a tough afternoon. And, it is one of these protests stemming from one of these shootings. 16 Police Officers were injured in clashes with protesters. One officer was hit in the face of the rock. They fired tear gas to tie to try to break up that area. And looters broke into a walmart. Now, they had a pileup wooden pallet in the front door to prevent further looting. And, he can see here, this should this broke out after they shot and killed an unarmed black man. They spotted him, who by the way, was not the person that they were serving. Authorities say that he came up out of a car confronted them armed with a gun causing an officer to open fire. The mayor spoke about the widespread demonstrations. I want to emphasize that i have spoken with Many Community and state leaders and we are calling for peace, we are calling for calm, we are calling for dialogue. Investigators recovered a gun, but scotts family says that he was not armed that he had a book in his hand. There promising a thorough investigation. In the Washington Post reports, Law Enforcement has shot and killed at least 702 people this year. 163 of them were African American. Weve also been looking at a commute that has not improved on the tracy triangle. It has been slow all morning long. And if youre trying to come in, its not over yet. Once you get to the middle part of the day bay, it slows all the way down to fremont and, those bridges are click crowded. And happening now, as we showed you live, please handing out tickets.
