Morning. Thats the first time that happened on the same day since 1967 here. Summer solstice and the june full moon. Clear skies except for the patchy fog. Decrease, decrease, decrease. Travis, hang my hat on that. When its under ten, thats a sign inland temps are going to warm up. Cool readings. We had plenty of 40s and 50s. Pacifica 51. San mateo 52. Wont take long now. Beginning to heat up here a little bit. Highs mainly centered in the four corners. To be honest, it looks like its going to hang around with day to day changes for a while. Patchy fog builds in. 90s inland. Above average temps. Coast though 60s and 70s. A pretty big difference with some of that patchy fog. All right. Sal, 7 01 what do you have for us, sir, on a monday . Slow traffic, steve. One of the things that i will mention is that the east shore fiancee is getting a little bit slower if you are driving in from the carquinez bridge all the way out to the macarthur maze. When you get to toll plaza, you will be waiting there for another 30 minutes. It appears to be improving especially on the ramp from 880. Lets look at where the slow traffic is. Highway 4 is slow. Concord, pleasant hill, walnut creek, your commute is slowed down to walnut creek and westbound 24 is moderate. Southbound 880 continues to be slow. 880 is an alternate route for a lot of people who are avoiding 680. It has been slow from some earlier issues out of pleasanton. For your Silicon Valley commute, 280 is a little slow. 85 and 101, it looks okay so far trying to get into sunnyvale, Mountain View and palo alto. 7 02. Back to the desk. Thank you. You got to give it to the warriors. They had a dream season. But the dream season ended with heartbreaking 9389 loss to cleveland in the final seconds of game 7. Curry one on one. Irving puts it up and scores kyrie irving i dont want to watch that again. Oh, boy. All right. The Cleveland Cavaliers took the lead for good with 53 seconds left. Warriors several missed opportunities in the final minutes of the game. It was a close game the entire game. Draymond green phenomenal. He ended with 32 points, hitting six threepointers. But lebron james and kyrie irving led the cavs to victory. They became the first team to come back from a 31 deficit to win the nba championships. For cleveland, its the citys first sports title since the browns won the nfl championship back in 1964. Our fans, they ride or die, no matter whats been going on. No matter, you know, the browns, the indians, the cavs and so on, and all the other sports teams that support us. At the end of the day you congratulate them for accomplishing what they set out to do. It will be a good image for us over the summer and all next season to remember so that, you know, we come back stronger. Thats all you can do. Dont really want to remember it. Yeah. Lebron james and his team, yes, there they are spraying champagne in the visitors locker room at oracle one year after the warriors did that to cleveland. James was named finals mvp. So many fans trying to figure out, all right, whats next . We are like whats next for the warriors after this sad sad end to the history making lets look to the future. What a talented team. Look at what they accomplished this season. Obviously, made it all the way to game 7 of the nba finals. We know the core group of warriors players will remain intact, of course. The team will be making some moves this offseason and a few familiar faces may not be here. Eight players on the roster become free agents next month. The future uncertain for festus ezeally and maurice speights. We are also still waiting to hear about the health of starting center andrew bogut, who injured his knee during the finals and was forced to sit out the last couple of games. Of course, there are Big Questions surrounding the future of harrison barnes. He was heavily criticized for a lackluster showing in these nba finals. He went ice cold at the worst possible time, shooting 5for 32 during those last three losses to the cavs in the finals. Now, after last nights game barnes was asked about his performance in that crucial game last night and his future with the warriors. First shot fell. That was night. I got some rhythm in the second half. Reporter is it emotional for you in looking ahead . I havent put any thought to it. And there you see a dejected harrison barnes, obviously, after last nights loss. But looking ated to next season in ahead to the next season in terms of the Coaching Staff, at least one different face. Luke walton is leaving the team. He will be taking over as the head coach of the l. A. Lakers. He was the interim head coach to start off the historic season. He helped get the warriors off to a hot start this year. His departure leaves a big hole on steve kerrs Coaching Staff. As the warriors look to make adjustments this offseason, there is still talk of pursuing free agent kevin durrant. Obviously, he is a hot commodity around the league. According to one report, the team plans to be very aggressive this offseason, especially with durrant out there and available. The warriors, they remain the oddson favorites in vegas to win the championship in 2017, if thats any consolation to you guys. They are still a great team. They are. I said this morning, when people have been Walking Around the newsroom like this. Yeah. That the one thing i will say is that it didnt feel like the same team. They werent smiling. They werent having fun. A lot of pressure on the season like they have had. Its almost a relief that they get break. Like take a break. Heal physically, emotionally. It takes such a toll. Yeah. The playoffs are so grueling. You did get that sense that they kind of ran out of gas, you know. The injuries started to build up. And have fun. I like watching them because they are a fun team to watch and they are always laughing and having a good team. That is not the team i saw towards the ends. The pressure. Yeah. Are you going to hold this up . I dont want to. Dethroned by the king. There you go. Yeah, yeah [ laughter ] we dont want to show it. Our director refuses to zoom in on that. We are not gonna talk about it. Lets look ahead to next year. Were gonna get rid of it and move on. We will talk to you later, alex. Time is 7 08. Well, warriors fans were hoping to celebrate another nba championship, but of course they are disappointed this morning. Fans are saying that loss was a heartbreaker. Especially after the warriors had such a magical season. Devastated, but i am encouraged by the effort, know. Sometimes it just doesnt fall. Just got to stack up and get better again. The team played so hard. They gave me a Great Fathers day present an season. They were awesome. We love our warriors. And a lot of people do. The team and the fans remain optimistic. They are looking towards next season. Now, outside oracle arena and around the city of Oakland Police were on standby in case there were problems after the game. There was one report of a sideshow in east oakland and some bottles were thrown at police at 105th and eads, but no injuries are reported. The close game and then the loss seemed to take almost all the energy out of warriors fans. Some of the people who gathered at bars and restaurants and were ready to celebrate, they just seemed dazed when that final buzzer sounded. They walked quietly out the doors, headed into almost empty streets, trying to process what had just happened. I dont know, man. It just seemed like they broke down, man, as a team, you know . They didnt have that same tenacity that they had through the season. I am like heartbroken inside. I have been cheering them on all season and this is a heartbreaking loss. Yeah. One fan we talked with said it felt like the game was payback for what the warriors did in cleveland last year. She took the high road, saying the cavaliers played really hard. She is already looking ahead to next season. A fan inside oracle fell from the second level right after the game. Police say the man in his 20s was involved in some kind of altercation and then fell over a railing. He was taken to the hospital. Was reported in critical but stable condition. No arrests have been made. Police are still investigating. During the game Oakland Police made one arrest, issued five citation, and ejected two fans. In cleveland, tens of thousands celebrated in the streets after the game. Yeah, looks like thats a police car underneath their feet. Some fans heavily damaged that car. No injuries were inside. People have been gathering near the arena to watch the game and to later celebrate. Cleveland police say not many arrests were made. Our time is now 7 10. We usually do it for 24 hours after a big fire. Reporter now, the paper is also reported that residents living at a hotel called the graywood had filed more than 50 complaints over the past 20 years resulting in numerous citations. Now, the fbi is still investigating how much help, if any, the shooter may have had to carry out and plan the attack. Tomorrow u. S. Attorney general Loretta Lynch will fly to orlando for an update on the investigation, and later today a partial transcript of the gunmans conversations with police while he was still in the club are due to be released. The u. S. Senate is expected to vote today on four gun control measures. They are all expected to fail. Democrats are pushing for tougher gun controls. Californias senior senator Dianne Feinstein wants to give the attorney general to ban gun sales to suspected terrorists on watch list. We have a strong Law Enforcement interest in protecting the types of investigations that in fact put people on the watch list or that may be around the individuals. Those guns were banned in paris and it didnt stop that terrorist attack. They were banned in brussels. They were banned in california and it didnt stop san bernardino. The point is criminals and terrorists are not deterred by one more gun control law when they are willing to walk into a gunfree club and commit murder with a firearm. Susan coombes maine is working on a compromise that might get enough support for approval later this week. Another hearing about guns is set in connecticut. This one has the families of nine children and adults killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting, they will be taking on the fun maker remington. It looks like it wasnt as serious as we thought with this crash, but the traffic is going to be a little bit slow on 680 still. It is improving. I will tell you whats not improving is highway 4. This commute doesnt look good at all. A couple of minor things, but the traffic here is going to be slow all the way over from pittsburg all the way over to the 242 interchange. Live pictures now. Bay bridge still backed up for a 15 to 20minute delay getting into San Francisco. A live look at San Francisco will show that northbound 101 as you approach the 80 split, that looks good. No issue getting down to the airport. Thank you. You know, we were all watching, but it still doesnt seem real. The dream season for the warriors ended yesterday for the heartbreaking 9389 loss to cleveland in the final seconds of game 7. Irving and curry one on one. Irving puts it up and scores that moment, thats when my heart broke. I am like, oh no. How did that go in . That was supposed to not go in. Well, the Cleveland Cavaliers took the lead for good with 53 seconds left. The warriors had several missed opportunities in those final minutes. It was close the entire game. Draymond green, you got to give him credit. He kept the warriors in it. He had a fantastic game. 32 points. He hit six threepointers. In the end, lebron and kyrie led the cavs to directly and they were the first team to come back from a 31 deficit to win the nba championships. It is the city of clevelands first sports title since the browns won the nfl championship in 1964. Its not even relief. Its just excitement for us as a team, as a franchise, as a city, as a community. You know, to be able to continue to build up our city, continue to be an inspiration to our city, it means everything. Happy to be a part of it. It hurts real bad right now, but i promise we will get better and its not the last time we will be at this stage. You know, its not the last time well be here. It will not. All right. These are images we didnt want to show you, but we have to show you. There is lebron and his teammates spraying champagne. Thats our visitors locker room at oracle. It comes full circle because we were doing it that cleveland a year ago. James was named the finals mvp. As i was watching the postgame and i am like, all right, if klay and steph and steve kerr can say, you know, were going to learn from this, move forward and be positive, then i guess i should, too. Alex savidge is here talking about whats next and what the team may have in the future. Are you cheering up . I am doing okay. It was a crushing loss for the warriors. The oddson favorites to win the championship next season. We may, however, see some changes to the roster. This team could lose a key member of the Coaching Staff as well. Remember warriors assistant luke walton is leaving the team. He is taking over as the head coach of the l. A. Lakers. Now, walton was the interim head coach to start off this historic season. Helped get the warriors off to the great start. His departure leaves a big hole or steve kerr on the Coaching Staff. Meantime, eight players on the warriors roster who will become free agents next month. Two could potentially get big money offers from other teams. We are waiting to hear about the health of andrew bogut, who injured his knee during the finals and was forced to sit out the last couple of games. Serious questions about the future of harrison barnes, who took a lot of heat for his subpar performance in these nba finals. He went cold right at the worst time, shooting just 5for32 during the last three losses to the cavs. After last nights game, barnes was asked about his performance in this crucial game with the warriors and his future with the team, and he said he hasnt thought about it just yet. While this team may look different next year, the players say they will never forget how special this season was. We won together. We lost together. We bonded. We built some great relationships. Those are the things that i cherish the most when its all said and done. We have a great group of guys. You know, its a blessing just to play in the nba. You know, we wont have the same exact team, but we will have these memories for a long time. Now, as the warriors look to make adjustments during this offseason, there is still talk of pursuing Oklahoma City thunder star kevin durant. A lot of teams are going to be going after durant. The warriors owner says the team plans to be very aggressive this offseason. So durrant out there still. The team was not able to win backtoback titles. Something only a handful of other teams have done in the history of the league. Despite last nights crushing loss, the players say this historic season was not a failure. You know, and i hear all these people saying, oh, we will have to wait to see how they justify whether the season was great. How could you not say it was a fantastic season. Sure. Its hard to see it in that moment. Yeah. I think its going to take time to step back. They will realize what they did accomplish this season. After a loss like that. Yeah. Its difficult to see. But they maintain that this was not a failure, but they are just it motivates. And you are a fan, right, the new fans that they have, this is a long game. All right. We are supposed to show this but we are not going to. Okay. It was klay walking out of the game. We dont need to see that. All right. We are going to give that to you. I will put that in the trash. All right. Lets talk about outside oracle arena and across the city of oakland. Police were on standby in case there were problems after the game. There was one report of a side show in east oakland and a few bottles thrown at police on 105th and eads avenue. No injuries reported. Thats good news. The close game and the loss seemed to take the energy out of the warriors fans. The people who gathered at bars and restaurants were ready to celebrate. They looked dazed when the final buzzer sounded. They walked quietly out of the doors, headed in the nearly streets and processed what they just watched. It seemed like they broke down, man, as a team, you know . They didnt have that same tenacity that they had through the season. I am like heartbroken inside. Luke i have been cheering them on all season, and this is a heartbreaking loss. Well, one fan we talked to said it felt like the game was payback for what the warriors did last year. They said the cavaliers played hard. Time is 8 09. In cleveland, meantime, thousands of people celebrated in the streets after yesterdays game. As you can see, some of the excited fans got carried away. They jumped up and down and heavily damaged a police car. Now, no Police Officers were in the car at the type. All of these people have been gathered near the cavaliers arena watching the game and then later celebrated. They are like ants out there. Cleveland police say not many arrests were made. Time is now 8 10. In you this morning in the world of politics, word that donald trump has just fired his campaign manager. The manager named Corey Lewandowski had been by trumps side since the beginning of the president ial campaign. This comes as trump is facing challenges as he gets ready for the general election against Hillary Clinton. Some recent polls show trumps numbers dropping compared to Hillary Clinton. Also, democrats are getting ready to spend more than 40 million on commercials in crucial swung states. Time is 8 10. Back here at home, San Francisco fire investigators have now gone back to the scene that have devastating fire in San Francisco over the weekend. Thats right. That fire left dozens of people displaced. Questions though still remain on how it all started. Ktvus brian flores is live for us in San Francisco with what the situation is out there this morning. Hi, brian. Reporter hi, guys. Yeah, you know, looking at the aftermath from this fire that happened over the weekend, you can see lots of heavy damage like you see here. Later today they will determine whether or not it will be deemed safe for residents to come back and retrieve any belongings. But first i want to show you guys how intense this fire got on saturday afternoon just after 2 00. This was a fivealarm fire that took firefighters close to four hours to put out on mission and 29th here in San Francisco. About six buildings were reportedly effected. Luckily, nobody was killed. There were some injuries reported to three people. Mostly smoke inhalation concerns. We understand at least 58 people are now displaced, including kids. They are staying at a nearby shelter blocks from here. Firefighters did remain here over the weekend just in days of any flareups. Speaking with a person who lived across the street of the fire, he says it was intense. It was hot. Believe me. I was on top of the stairs and the smoke was coming this way and it was pretty ugly. Reporter now, the San Francisco chronicle is reporting this morning that residents living at a hotel called the graywood had filed more than 50 complaints over the past 20 years resulting in numerous citations. Paper reports sop of the citations include things from a heating system being installed without a permit, Circuit Breakers tripping up and wastewater coming into the units. Thats the paper reporting those details. Again it remains unclear the exact cause of the fire, which is why, as we take it back out here live, investigators are out here this morning. Still plenty of Unanswered Questions. Not only was the hotel damaged, but also a bar. Kohls Hardware Store. The owner of the Hardware Store speaking with that fire investigator. You will hear what he has to say in the next hour of mornings on 2. He says he was greatly affected by this fire because this store opened in 1984. You will hear more coming up in the next hour of mornings on 2. Guys, back to you. All right. Brian flores in San Francisco. Thank you. Time is 8 13. We want to give you a chance to listen in. A situation reported to Law Enforcement partners. They have also provided daily counterterrorism reports and working with the fbi in this investigation. Their efforts will continue on a daytoday basis. I will share with you that in this community the citizens who live here should be confident by knowing that you have competent Law Enforcement authorities who are able to respond rapidly to any situation that we will be confronted with in the future. However, there are daily efforts to prevent a similar attack from occurring. That will be based solely on the collaboration between, again, our federal, state, and local Law Enforcement authorities. Let me move on now and talk just briefly about the first responders. You have been listening in to a press conference on the latest in the orlando shooting. They were drowned out by hundreds of people wearing wings and chanting we love you, and orlando strong. The u. S. Senate is expected to vote today on four gun control measures. They are all expected to fail. Californias senior senator Dianne Feinstein wants to give the attorney general to ban gun sales to suspected terrorists on watch lists. Opponents say that infringes on Second Amendment rights of law abiding citizens and people who plan to use a gun to kill someone wouldnt care about a law restricting gun sales. We are, first of all, talking about that toll plaza, dave and claudine, it is going to be slow get nothing San Francisco. There are no major problems here coming into the city. It is backed up out to the macarthur maze. A 20minute delay before you get onto the span. 880 north and southbound is not a bad commute here. Northbound 101 traffic is slow in San Francisco. Lets go to the weather now. Lets go to steve. Thank you, sir. Very good morning, everyone. Mostly clear skies. A little bit of fog. A teeny bit. Looks like its retreating for many. In fact, temperatures are warming up pretty quick inland. Nothing compared to whats going on in southern california. A little bit of fog marin county. Lets go to pam with money business. Quiet because it is summertime. We are waiting for the federal reserve. So that could play some role later in the week on the numbers. We are looking at the opening bell this morning. Right now numbers doing very well. The dow and s p 500 up more than a percent. Nasdaq up close to 2 this morning. A lot of reaction to a poll over the weekend that it is less likely that the u. K. Will break away from the European Union, and that is being favored positively here in the u. S. As well. Talking about that, this is whats happening. Trading may be light. Also, as investors wait for two events. The federal reserve, of course, meeting there. But then also the bigger event comes thursday when the british vote on whether or not to leave the European Union. If voters approve the u. K. Pulling out, it would require the u. K. And the European Union to renegotiate how they deal with each other. That would include trade deals and even immigration and travel between the u. K. And europe. But again sounding like it is less likely. There is a warning about scammer targeting college students. Students are being told that they owe a federal student tax. The irs says there is no such thing. The scammers are telling students that they can pay off what they owe using itunes gift cards, which is definitely not something the irs would do. The Treasury Department also says some of the thieves, the scammers are expanding that and saying they can use any type of gift card. The victims then read the gift card number off to the fake agent. That gives the scammer access to the money. So again the irs saying this is not something that they would do. Stocks trending a bay area stock gopro. Analysts saying that that has a very good outlook going forward. They have slimmed down their line. Stocks up 5 . All right. Thank you. Well, a study about head injuries and children. Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. Classic music. There you go. We dont really have a heat wave here. It is warming up. They do in southern california. No doubt about it. Also in the southwest. We are a little into far north. Yes, its going to get warm. Yes, for some it will be hot. No record highs. Lowtomid 90s and not 103 or 104. There is not an offshore breeze. At 8 a. M. Palm springsard 97. Las vegas 94. Farther south, yes. Farther north, not as much. San francisco 74 today. So youre pretty close on the low. No doubt about it. Above on the high. Not way above. We have a little bit of fog off the coast. It doesnt have much of a chance. There is a slight component of a westerly or onshore breeze for most. Its not very strong. All right 73 brentwood. Temperatures are warming up quick. Some 40s this morning. Gilroy up there. San martin. Morgan hill. Santa cruz nice. 63 already. They will be looking at the 80s as well. For us it will be well above average as High Pressure kind of takes over for a few days, but not i think it will flatten out on wednesday and thursday. We will get some fog back here, just a teeny bit of fog this morning. Its all about sunshine and warmer temperatures. 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. Word of a crash on highway 4. Meantime, i will start with the east bay commute on interstate 880. It is slow coming out of hayward all the way down or up to downtown oakland near 23rd. If you are driving to the bay bridge toll plaza, there is a backup of about 15 to 20 minutes. The traffic there is not unusually slow. Its about the same as it normally is. Now, we have heard of a crash reported somewhere along eastbound highway 4 west of baypointe. Thats kind of a, you know, kind of a long way. Now, westbound highway 4 is slow. So between pittsburg and concord we have a lot of slow traffic. I want to show you here our highway 4 camera. I dont see anything eastbound, which is the top. But westbound is slow. So if chp is looking for a crash, we havent found it. I will confirm just by looking at the camera that this commute is not doing well out to the highway 4 242 interchange. Nevertheless, if you are driving here, give yourself extra time. Looks like youre gonna need it. 8 34. Tripledigit temperatures in the southwest over the weekend killed one person, sent another one to the hospital. Parts of phoenix hit 110 before noon. The highs hit 118. Firefighters in north phoenix rescued a 28yearold woman who collapsed while mountain biking. She is in Critical Condition now. And a 25yearold phoenix man died saturday of heat exposure while hiking. More extreme heat is forecast for the desert areas today. The highs could hit, would you believe, 120 degrees. Meantime, firefighters still battling four fires in six western states with triple digit temperatures and high winds on top of it. The cedar fire in arizona has already burns thousands of acres. Fire officials dont expect to get a break either. In new mexico, the governor has the National Guard securing those communities affected by a big fire in the central part of that state. So far this year almost two million acres have been burned, and we havent even hit the peak of the wildfire season. But you know, after talking about all of that, the fire danger is not limited to the southwest. No. Ktvus janine de la vega is reporting that the heat wave hitting the bay area is putting local fire crews on alert for a possible wildfire danger here, too. Reporter we are here in allen rock park. This is one of the areas that firefighters are watching because there have been fires here in the past. Now, firefighters keep their eyes on the foothills because there is so much vegetation and dry brush. Low humidity is expected this week, which makes for drier conditions. But winds will stay low, which should keep the risks down. Calfire already has a warning about preventing wildfire on their website for those who live here the hills.
