They are steadily improving. There are a number of victims that left the scene of the nightclub. They were trying to get away from the shooting. Several of those patients have subsequently presented to our hospitals. Yesterday, we saw two patients that presented to one of our sister hospitals and there was another patient that presented, i understand this morning, to another one of our sister hospitals, Health Central hospital. Angel . Thank you, guys, for coming today i really aappreciate it. [ indistinct chatter ] i want to thank you guys for coming out today i really appreciate all the love ive gotten in the past three days that ive been here. At first, i was a bit hesitant to come out here because its still fresh to me, all thats happened. But i would love to get my story out so everyone can know what is going on now in this community and how some people are just so heartless and how were treated. But on sunday morning, early morning, we just were having a great time, having a drink. It was shortly after 2 00, we are saying our goodbyes. Im hugging everyone. It was a great night. No drama, just smiles, just laughter. And i was talking to the last girl, out of nowhere, we just hear a big shot gown. We stop what we are doing and then it just keeps going. That happened and we just grabbed each other and we started running. Unfortunately, i was shot about three times in my leg. So i had fallen down. I tried to get back up, but everyone started running everywhere. I got trampled over. I shattered both my bones on my left leg. By this time, i would not walk at all. All i could do was lay down there as everyone was running on top of me trying to get to where they had to be. And all i could hear was the shotguns, one after another and people screaming, people yelling for help. By this time, this man, he goes into the other room and i can just hear more shotguns going on. I thought at this time, people had tackled him. But i hear him come back and hes shooting everyone already dead on the floor, making sure that they are dead. I was able to peek over and i can just see him shooting everyone. And i can hear the shot out of the shotgun closer. I look over and he shoots the girl next to me. And im just there laying down, thinking, im next. Im dead. So i dont know how, by the glory of god, he shoots over my head but it hits my hand and he shoots me again and hits the side of my hip. I had no reaction. I was just prepared to just stay there, laying down so he wont know that im alive. And hes just doing this for another five, ten minutes, just shooting all over the place. By this time, he goes up to the front. I think thats when he battled against the comes. I can hear shot guns going all over the place. Coming up, i remember a cop which i wish i could remember his name or his face. Im grateful to him to this day. He looks to me and makes sure that im alive. He grabs me and said, this is the only way i can take you out alive. He starts to drag me out across the street to the wendys. And im grateful for him, but the floor is just could have had in glass. He is carrying me out but im cut in my legs, my butt. I dont feel feel pain but i feel the blood. He dropped me off across the street. I can see bodies everywhere. We are all in pain. And we were able to get to the ambulance. They brought us over here and the way that you guys have taken care of us in this hospital is amazing. If it wasnt for you guys, i definitely would not be here. Every morning, middle the night, afternoon, you guys were always there and i really appreciate that. And i would love you guys forever for doing that for me. Me. [question inaudible]. We are listening live to the News Conference from the orlando Regional Medical center. Mateen did express allegiance to the Islamic State. His exwife said that he was mentally ill. And his father says that he was drink by a hatred of gays. The victims include students, exhibit pre newers, professionals. The victims range in age from 18yearold to 53yearold. A woman was there, who had beaten cancer twice and was there dancing with her son. And another man was there, 23 years old, who was bullied as a child for being gay. And the Orlando Medical Center provided a News Conference this morning. We brought this live on mornings on 2 as one of the patients described what happened inside the nightclub as the gunman started shooting. We just grabbed each other and started running. Unfortunately, i was shot about three times in my leg. So i had fallen down. I tried to get back up, but everyone started running every where. I got trampled over. The doctors said this among, six of the patients hospitalized still have what they consider critical injuries. The other hospitals who took in victims are expected to give an update and the fbi and the president are saying how they are looking into how their procedures and policies are under review, after the fbi took a look at him twice and let him go. The fact that the fbi had him twice and let him go, that is an intelligence failure it. Well, thats problem. You have to look at what they have and what they did. They had coworkers had described him as a problem, said some inflammatory things things. He was identified as a potential suspect of terrorism. They conducted an investigation. They did surveillance, even ran informants at him to see if he was inclined to commit a crime and interviewed him. The interview had a couple of purposes. One is to neutralize any potential activity. Because then he may realize there is some scrutiny on him. Then they interviewed him again based on another circumstance which included an association with a known terrorist. Then he went on and committed this horrific crime. I think you have to look back at what they did, what they could have done based on the current guidelines. Im not sure they could have done anything else. But, clearly, this is the worst fears that have occurred. Rick, lets talk about the fact that the gunman here was able to purchase two weapons legally here. You have these two investigations that had been done by the fbi. Why during the background checks for thos
