This morning in pacifica, dozens of people looking for another place to live. An urgent call from the police to pack up and move out, the cliff they live on is unstable. The moving truck has just arrived at the complex, and within the last hour to help one of these tenets pack up his unit, and this tenant is among dozens of being forced out, and he is incredibly frustrated by what is going on. This apartment building, 310 as but not avenue, and this is the building espanod avenue and this is the building that is unstable, and it is not safe for anyone to stay in this building anymore. Yellow tags with up on all of these units yesterday afternoon, and they received an urgent call from the Pacifica Police telling them to come home and pack up what they can, and they say that it is caving and they do not know when and if it could give way. The tenant talked with us about being suddenly forced out. This is not a good situation, but the cliff is unstable, so we have to move. People live. Because it is affordable, and housing in the bay area is not affordable. Reporter the people that are being forced out are getting help, and they have a shortterm solution at the pacifica baptist church. The same situation played out in 2010, two of the neighboring apartments here on the esplanade avenue were evacuated, and this building at three tent esplanade was evacuated earlier this morning, and this tenant is packing up everything inside his building, and he is not happy with what is unfolding. Are you getting a sense that some of these residents are new to the complex them or not there for what happened in 2010, and this is new to them . Or does everybody pretty much know what is going on . Reporter there are some folks that it may appear within the past two years, and a mix, some had a sense that this could be the day that would arrive. Some folks have been here long term, and we spoke with many of the tenets, and they saw the situation play out in 2010, and hung tight and thought they may not have to move, but obviously that day has come, and the city says it is no longer safe for anyone to stay inside this building. Other homes just down the coast from the esplanade avenue are also in danger, flying over the palmetto avenue, and theys all these backyards index hanging over the edge, and the people that lived in the homes did not want to go on camera, but they did tell us they are moving out. One of the bay area popular scenic lookouts will be closed during the super bowl festivities. The parking lot at vista point will be close to private cars from 11 am through 5 pm every day beginning this friday through super bowl sunday, february 7. The golden gate district is concerned about the traffic racking up onto the bridge as the drivers wait for a very limited number of parking spots to open up. They recommend taking Public Transportation or one of these hop on, hop off tour buses. The mario woods death has set off a number of protest and doubt over the Police Account on what happened. And in San Francisco on more on what the mayor is asking e federal government what to do in a letter that was sent to the justice department. Reporter the letter was sent to attorney general loretta lynch, and we have requested for copy of the letter, and the department of justice has done investigation into local Police Departments many times, most recently after the shootings in ferguson, missouri, chicago and cleveland, and this time the request comes from the San Francisco mayor lee, and he would like for the department of justice to investigate the Police Shooting of mario woods who was killed in a confrontation with the police last month. His death has led to heated contention between family members and the San Francisco city leaders. And they have voiced a concern at the mayor lee inauguration, and calling for the police chief to resign. The confrontation in which mario woods was killed was captured on cell phone video, and they show that woods was not a danger to himself or anyone else, and should not have been killed by the police. The officers involved in the shooting say that woods was a stabbing suspect, and he adjust cut someone with a kitchen knife, and that the beanbag method in other methods used to try to restrain him failed. We have not heard whether the mayors request for a federal investigation will be granted, but the legal experts say that the odds are pretty good. It is pretty likely that they will investigate, and if they see this as a serious referral from the city of San Francisco mayor, especially when you look at the other cities that have undergone a similar review, i suspect it is likely they will agree to open an investigation. Whether it leads to an indictment or a report, who knows. Later today, the San Francisco board of supervisors will decide whether to make july 22, marios birthday his remembrance day. Look how much it has cleared up, so that is good. Remember that the drive into the city will not be great for the next three weeks. And still slowing pleasant hill, cleared up in concord, and highway 4 we had an earlier accident and the bay point area, so if youre driving from pittsburg to concord, you will need extra time. And looking at the 580 and 680 interchange, a terrible commute all morning. From the Altamont Pass to dublin, weve seen no improvement. Some very foggy locations, either sunny a foggy, no in between. This next line is interesting, they say that all occupants are advised to run and hide, or fight. All Emergency Response personnel are asked to stay away, and this is in the balboa park neighborhood. That may be familiar to you because that is where the scene day goes through, museums and restaurants, and downtown at the hillcrest the north park neighborhood. A body was found last night in Santa Cruz County, and it is not clear if the body is one of those missing students that was presumed to be that after disappearing last week at the strawberry beach. The county sherifs spokesman would not comment on the gender of the body found last night, but we know that the high surf sweat two santa cruz students into the ocean. We have contacted the families, but they said they had not been notified about the discovery of a body. A vigil is set for 7 pm this evening at the uc santa cruz for the family and friends that would like to remember the missing students. Upset over the controversial move of the Treatment Center for sex offenders into their neighborhood. They plan to move to the church street, and up to 30 sex offenders will come for treatment every day, and the clinic is drawing criticism for not doing Community Outreach prior to the move, and the program says that all of the offenders will be wearing ankle bracelets and will be prohibited from hanging out near the center before and after the appointment. This is a big Medical Center, 1. 2 million outpatient visits last year. We did see facebook post, advising all occupants to run, hide or fight. This is an active shooter situation at the hospital right now, and im assuming that this person is related or know someone that works at this center. This is happening in the balboa park in san diego, near downtown, and near the san diego zoo. In the same area where the active shooter situation is happening. The Center Services veterans, Service Members and their families. Babies are born here, there is primary specialty care, dental services, a very large facility. A very high number of active duty military and veterans live in san diego. It is obvious, and you can see all of the people outside here. This happened last night while the hoverboard was charging, and when the Fire Department arrived, the homeowner said that he heard an explosion, and he looked in the hoverboard was on fire, and this was in petaluma. He used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, and unplugged the hoverboard. This was a minismart hoverboard, and last week we reported a home in santa rosa severely damage, two family dogs killed in the fire caused by a hoverboard fire.
