Officials tells routers an unintended bag was discovered at one of the terminals and Associated Press reporter says the building was sealed off. But passengers are being allowed back inside and the airports website shows flights leaving and landing as usual. This mornings evacuation comes after yesterdays bastille day truck attack in nice. The death toll raise to 84 including ten children. Two of the People Killed were americans from the austin, texas area. Christien kafton is in the studio with more information on these two americans as well as the gunman. Reporter a lot of developments coming out of nice, france. Investigators say the man behind the wheel was a tunisian national. We are also learning about the dozens of victims in this case. Men, women, and children. The state Department Says two of those victims are americans. Family members have identified the casualties as four and son Sean Copeland and brody. At least ten children were killed and dozens more are being treated at this hour. Witnesses say the driver plowed through the crowds killing before he stepped out of the vehicle with a gun shooting at police. French officers then shot him dead. Now an intense investigation is under way looking to see if the killer has ties to isis or any other terror organization. This operation was just not completed by him. There had to be reconnaissance, there had to be planning. Someone had to supply him the weapons. Maybe there was a bigger target down the road after he was going to complete this mission. All of that still under investigation. Again remember initial report says the terrorist behind the wheel was armed with several guns and hand grenades. French Authorities Say that was an inactive hand grenade. French authorities found an identification on the man behind the wheel. We have heard a raid has been conducted at his home. Meanwhile frances leaders are extending that countrys state of emergency another three months through october. We will continue to follow on developments on this case and bring those developments as they happen. We are learning more about the suspect in this case. Oakland police have not released any information about possible suspects. More than a dozen security cameras along highway 4 in the pittsburg area are scheduled to be up and running early next week. The string of freeway shootings during the past year and a half prompted several east bay mayors to ask the governor for money to buy those cameras. The mayor of hercules says hes been told a chp that these security cameras would be part of an expanding crime crack down on highway 4. High resolution cameras, shot spotter, rprs. All being attached together in one system. Thats my take on it. 14 cameras will be installed on highway 4. 120 cameras are already set up across the city of pittsburg. Pg e crews in san jose trying to fix a gas leak along allen rock avenue first reported yesterday. Pg e crews accidentally damaged a low pressure gas line around 2 00. Now fire crews at first evacuated everyone within 300 feet of that leak. And shelter in place was ordered at two senior complexes. Officials with pg e says no gas service was disrupted as a result. We are still waiting to hear back from them about the very latest on that gas leak this morning. San francisco is seeing a surge in the number of Homeless People living in rvs under the central freeway. Just a few months ago the area on 13th street between harrison and bryant street was home to a tent city. The city conducted a sweep moving the tents out and the rvs moved in. Camping in your car has been illegal since 1971 but the law is rarely enforced. There are restrictions on over sized vehicle parking in some parts of the city but not here. At this point its really up to the city. You can only park the vehicle that size in specific locations. Were on the list for seniors. That is a waiting list of 13 years. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency says meters and parking restrictions have simply been a band aid solution causing rvs to move from one location only to pop up in another. They include a 71yearold woman who says she had her hair pulled and glasses broken. Then there was another man who suffered a concussion. And there is another victim his name is Juan Hernandez and he is one of the plenties in this Class Action Lawsuit that was just filed. He suffered a broken nose and was hit in the head with a protest. He along with others that were hurt is suing the city of san jose. This stems from that protest outside of the donald trump rally held in june. Angry clashes erupted between antitrump demonstrators and supporters. More than 250 Police Officers were there but failed to protect them. To me its about someone being accountable for what happened. Whether San Jose Police chief or mayor liccardo. That will continue to deepen over the weekend. Even if you are out in the back 40 and say when will it cool . Over the weekend. Today there is an okay breeze. At the bay bridge toll plaza we still have a backup and we still do. Its kind of early for it to be this thick. They caused slow traffic on the bridge and had to slow the metering lights down. And we do have slow traffic in that area. Lets talk about 880. Southbound 880 near 92. They are clearing a crash there. Traffic is going to be okay as you drive after that. So that is an injury crash and traffic is backed up. As you get on the freeway in union city and heading down fremont all the way to san jose, that is a nice looking drive. Lets go back to the desk. We have more coverage of yesterdays terror attack in nice, france. Take a look at the scene in nice this morning. Almost 24 hours after a man in that large truck drove through crowds of people celebrating bastille day. The national holiday. At least 84 people have died. The death toll may go even higher. Our reporter doug luzader is live. Reporter french president says is there are about 50 people this morning that are in his words between life and death in the aftermath of this attack. The images are terrifying. A white truck barreling down the crowded prom nod in nice. Veer into the crowd killing one person after another. I saw people running. At this point we didnt have any idea what we were running from. Reporter the carnage would continue for more than a mile before the driver left the truck and began shooting before he was shot and killed by police. It was quite harrowing scene. We have seen People Holding babies screaming and shouting. Mothers running for cover. Reporter as day broke the extent of the horror became clear. French officials trying to find out more about the driver. Identified as a 31yearold french tunisian but was he acting alone . Someone had to supply him the weapons. Dont forget he had hand grenades and explosives in that truck. Maybe there was a bigger target down the road after he was going to complete this mission. Reporter french president s holland has suggested this is an act of islamic terrorism. Back in washington president obama has been briefed on the attack saying in a statement we stand in solidarity and partnership with france. Our oldest ally as they respond to and recover from this attack. As the people of france once again confront another horrific attack. Now as far as we know no terror group has claimed responsibility for this attack. The two men accused in a shooting of an armored car robbery were in court yesterday. 23yearold ivan morales and 24 yearold serge gutsu are facing attempted murder of a guard and Police Officer. They are also facing robbery and conspiracy charges. The suspects may be linked to a series of other crimes including an armored car robbery and homicide in the los angeles area. In convicted in the Sonoma County case both men face life sentences. Former Police Officer convicted of raping and molesting his son and stepdaughter more than 25 years ago may soon be free from prison. In 1989 ron was sentenced to 75 years in prison. Recent state regulations designed to ease prison over crowding now make him eligible for a parole hearing later this month. He also qualifies through the Elderly Parole Program because he is older than 60 and hes already served more than 25 years in prison.
