They say, caltrans said that doing at this time will lessen impacts. Theres a four foot three foot wide hole on the westbound deck of the san mateo bridge. You can see that caltrans crews have put a metal plate over it as a temporary fix. Found this last month. They want to make permanent repairs. Caltrans will close two westbound lanes. Crews will work from tuesday through friday. There will be one lane open heading westbound from 7 pm through 5 am. Caltrans said the whole is part of the wear and tear on the bridge. This opened in 1967. It is 49 years old. Usually around the 50 year mark, that is when you start having some issues like this. Reporter the commute direction on the bridge is westbound in the morning. Thats why caltrans chose to hold the closure overnight. They thought that was the lowest inconvenient for motors. Search crews using sonar located the bodies around 10 am yesterday. A man arrested in the deaths of homeless men in san diego is out of jail. This is a surveillance photo of anthony padgett, who was homeless himself. He was arrested last week on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and arson. Police released him saying there was not enough evidence to prosecute. Since july 3, four homeless men were attacked in san diego, two were set on fire. Police believe padgett is the man responsible for the attacks. They are asking for anyone with potential evidence to come forward. New york senator Charles Schumer said the zika virus could cause a Public Health crisis in his state and around the country. He is urging congress to approve 2 billion in emergency funding to fight zika. Senator schumer said there have been hundreds of confirmed cases of the virus in new york city alone.
