It is a huge tree and the homeowners said that it might be over 100 years old and they have worried about this tree for a long time. Just take a look at it. They said around 2 13 is when they heard the crash. I think it was a branch that came down first and then the rest of the tree just started slowly falling down into the house. And the concern now is if you pan over to the right side. They said theyve seen that slowly start to move so theyre worried about that coming down as well. The video shows a honda hitting a shopping cart and knocking down a 3yearold little girl. Investigators believe the drivers a woman who tried to return batteries to the store. She was wearing a sweatshirt with a bat man logo at the time. Even though she knew that she had hit somebody she still reversed on what appeared to be on purpose and tried to get those people out of her way at all cost and that was extremely dangerous especially that time of the day. The honda is possibly silver in color with front end damage unrelated to the incident. Now, the driver is described as white or latina. Take a look at the photo there. 20 to 25 years old. She could face five phone number accounts of assault with a deadly weapon. Police officers are recovering after a crash last night. It happened around 5 30 a. A patrol car and another car collided. The two Police Officers and the two people in that other car were treated for minor injuries. The crash is under investigation. San jose police are now releasing a new bit of information about a man who was shot and critically wounded by police last friday. He pointed what police say was a cooking gun at officers. The officers had to make a split second decision based on the suspects bizarre behavior. Taking off his clothing and then chasing after a mother and her children. When Police Arrived he was back inside his pickup truck but then rammed that truck into a police car. Officers pursued the suspect for approximately four miles. During the pursuit the suspect was involved in multiple vehicle collisions. Officers say bows pulled into a mall parking lot. Pointed what looked like a weapon at officers and then revved his engine. Bow is described as mentally unstable. And footage from their body camera is being reviewed. He faces several charges and rerains in the hospital under police watch. Time is now 5 08. Reporter democrats are certainly looking for some political pay back here but they may not want to push things too far. Well aware of the fact that republicans can simply change the rules and force neil gorsuch through to supreme court, the socalled nuclear option. Reporter last night President Trump. He is an outstanding man. Judge neil gorsuch was sworn in yesterday but that was the easy part. Long before democrats and republicans were americans. He will have to answer pointed questions this morning as the marathon session begins. Many of them from democrats who actually have another name on their minds. Judge garland. Democrats are still stinging over the gops refusal to consider president obamas pick for the court judge merit garland. Theyre arguing that the senate no represent nominees and nominated by a president who lost the vote. But heres the danger for democrats. Gorsuch isnt likely to change the eye ideological on the court. Republicans could simply change the rules and allow a simple majority to prevail which would make it much easier than next time President Trump nominates a justice someone who could potentially change the course ideological tilt for decades. I think hes going to get 60 votes. One way or another judge gorsuch will be confirmed. Now this will be a marathon session today. The questions are expected to last for maybe ten hours or so. A woman recorded the group riding recklessly on dirt bikes, motorcycles and atvs. The spotter plane directed officers to where some of them were. They arrested one woman and seized several bikes and at vs. The chp says it will be studying the video and said there could be more arrests. They were kicking car doors. Theres even some reports of them throwing bottles at other vehicles. We thought it was kind of dangerous for them to be riding like that doing wheelies and going on the emergency side as well. Now the chp is also investigating whether any of the bikers were involved in the beating of an off duty lyft driver on highway 101 earlier this month. It looks like the bay bridge toll plaza commute is light at the moment. 5 17. All right. We had a little bit of thunderstorm activity move through the Russian River. Right there. Went right by badaiga bay and that is a sure sign things are starting to pop. You can see theres a pretty good line coming on san mateo and santa cruz as well. Rainfalls been pretty good. There could be some very heavy rain tomorrow morning and then well get a break it looks like wednesday, thursday, friday looks to be the strongest in the system by far. After that everything looks pretty weak. Through sunday night into monday morning. So be advised there could be some hefty totals in the north bay on friday, friday afternoon, friday evening. The Consumer Advocacy Group has filed a complaint with state and federal officials they say they checked 4,000 products sold on amazon. The list price really is a notional bogus price that doesnt seem to have any real relationship to anything and so theyre creating the impression of a discount luring consumers in to buy if you will when there really isnt such discount at all.
