Investigator in mississippi want to know why a tour bus was stopped on train tracks when it was hit by a freight train. And four people were killed on that bus. The train was honking and honking, you know, but that bus had just looked like it bottomed out over that hill and when it bottomed it, it tried backing up a little bit and you can see the train just and it was gone. That bus was taking people from boston, texas to visit casinos on the gulf coast. In addition to the four people on the bus who were killed, 40 others were hurt. 7 of them are in critical condition. The crew on the train was not hurt. The train pushed that bus about a 300 feet down the tracks before the locomotive was able to stop. Last night in portland, oregon, a Jewish Community center was evacuated because of a bomb threat. It came in, in an email claiming it was a bomb on the campus, but nothing was found. There were bomb threats to Jewish Community centers in six states yesterday from oregon to new york. Earlier this week with you told that joseph was arrested february 26th in connection with a burglary. Neighbors were mad when a judge released him four days later. Police also arrested 20yearold alexis macia and 40 year old rene garcia. Theyre accused of burglaries in that same area. Investigators havent said if the three suspected burglars were working together or working separately. A retired Police Captain pleaded 82yearold al pardan admitted he paid jasmine for sex when she was 81. A judge sentencing him to two years probation and five days in jail. Paradan ran the opd homicide. Hes the only person charged in acosta county in the sex exploitation scandal and several officers face charges in alameda county. Californians are using less water than we have in years and thats due to the rain weve had. The state water board says the average californians used 58 gallons of water in january. The law center in berkeley heard about these landlord stories before, but theyre becoming more common now. One law Center Lawyer worked on three recent cases in oakland. In one case, a tenant was concerned about property repairs and sewage leaking from the apartment from upstairs. Their landlord uses their knowledge of the tenants undocumented status as a tool to try to keep these tenants from asserting their rights or try to frighten these tenants. Its illegal here in california for a landlord to ask about a tenants immigration status or even retaliate against a tenant. Oakland city councilman noel will hold two workshops this saturday at the senior street in west oakland to talk about immigrants and refugees and their rights. Last night, people who live in doug land voiced their opinion on whether or not to declare doug land a sanctuary city. The mayor agreed with toes who spoke out against the sanctuary city declaration. A federal judge has ruled against native american tribes that want to stop the Dakota Access pipeline project from moving forward. The pipeline could start operating as early as next week. The judge rejected the tribes it would prevent them from practicing religious ceremonies that rely on clean water and the tribe hopes to stop the project. They have yet to ruled on the other claim that the pipeline threatens their water supply. What do we do . In the bay areas, dozens of protestor showed their support. The board of supervisors is expected to examine how the citys invest supervisor sandra lee is urging the city treasury to take city money out of companies that help finance the dakota pipeline.
