You can see especially here we go for marin but up toward santa rosa, sonoma we still have Rain Coverage to talk about. Looks like moderate to borderline heavy and then still scattered rain for San Francisco, extending across at least approaching oakland and haywood. There you can see across parts of the south bay as well. Temperatures right now pretty mild out there in the up ears to the 60s. Here is what happens. Still a pocket possibility of rain showers. Kind of get a break. Look what happens tomorrow. Next system comes on board first thing tomorrow morning. 8 00 and then by four that action will be move together south and to the east. That will be the next storm approaching the area. We are talking about we are concerned with a possibility of flooding again. Mudslides and gusty winds with some wind advisories and still the possibility of a thunderstorm. We will talk more about this system in a few minutes. There is there are emergency closures of a couple of lanes. Westbound 580 near greenville road for pot hole repair. Now these arent just normal pot holes. These are the kind of pot holes that have rebar sticking out of them so you couldnt drive over them without getting a flat tire. Cal trans crews showing up to repair this. This will be annual morning drive and this will be very slow. This is going out to vasco road. Its likely this will affect some of the side roads, possibly including vasco. Its going to be a mess and i would recommend i would give myself a lot of extra time or go the other way if you can. Perhaps adjust your drive somehow to not go through here. I know thats impossible for a lot. Lets go to the Santa Cruz Mountains. One way Traffic Control on highway 17 near vine hill because of mudslides. Paul chambers said arriving on the scene we will have a live report. For a while. They arent planning on opening up any time soon. We will talk to paul in just a little bit. Lets look at 280 and san jose. Northbound looks okay. A little bit of a dry spell here in the middle of the storms. Its not raining right now. At the bay bridge traffic is okay. No major problems onto the span. Its 5 04. A major road in the town of danville was is shut down for several hours over night. A half mile stretch of diablo road was closed. Thats after a hillside started slipping. Trees and power poles fell right onto the road. Pg e said that thousands of customers were without power near that area but nearly everybody has had their power restored at this point. That is tomorrow. Parts of the river in sonoma are above flood stage this morning. Its already above 32 feet at gurnville. In just four mile away the school is closed because of flooding. People living along the river are used to the flooding. Last month several neighborhoods were under flood water for more than two days forcing people to get around with boats. That time the river was six feet over flood stage. Today it is expected to be about four feet above flood stage. Again we are expecting more rain tomorrow. The body of the 61yearold was found yesterday afternoon on san marcos court. She was shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene. The police want to talk to the 58yearold boyfriend who lived with the victim and owns the house. Its believe theres was an altercation. He isnt being called the suspect at this time. I would say that you may want to think about using ace trainor perhaps not going on this drive because it really is getting to the point where the drive is going to take almost two hours to get through the area. Cal tran Social Security using heavy equipment to stabilize the hill and plan to bring in a special machine later today to access the slide, remove debris from the top. We are all on high alert. The work is onto remove rocks and mud that is covering the northbound lanes of highway 17 near vine hill road. It all start add round ten yesterday morning after cal trans engineers said what it seems to have been approximately 100 dump truck loads of debris came down caution the mudslide and shutting down highway 17. Half of the Mountain Side came down. The rest into the southbound side. The slide was so powerful it flipped a pickup truck. Another mudslide. That damaged a news van. When the northbound side is reopened may be in a different traffic pattern than are you used too because its likely that one southbound lane will be used for northbound traffic. We will stay on top of this. I we were when you are driving northbound right at summit there was summit road there was a car flipped over because of debris in the roadway. Be extra careful. You may want to adan hour if you want to get around this area. Give yourself time. There was a car hitting the side here next to us. You have to be careful. It is raining. Slow down. Slow traffic this morning on 80 westbound as you drive through vallejo. I want to mention westbound 580. Emergency road closures ata 180 at greenville road. The lanes just to bad for to you drive through. Several people have gotten flat tires in the area. Chp and cal trans closed lanes. Some lanes are getting by. This is an hour plus drive. We are talking about maybe an hour and a half to get through and that is just as good as itll get. There is no way they will open those lanes for the morning. There you have it. One neighboring home at least one neighboring home has been red tagged as the rain soaked earth behind these homes here on Mountain View avenue continues to shift. My gosh. Thats going to go. Its going. Reporter you can hear the dramatic moments there as a giant wall of mud crushed this home on Mountain View avenue yesterday morning. That video was posted to facebook by san rafael firefighters. The family of four who lived in this home. They all made it out safely. The mudslide happened in slow motion essentially. First the hillside was pressing up against the back window here in the morning and then about a half about an hour and a half later the entire house collapsed as you saw in the video. The owner said that his parents built this home. He grew up in this place but he can and his family are trying to keep this in perspective. We are all healthy. We are fine. Fallen trees are blocking the main road into the Remote Community of felton grove. Many neighborhoods are flooded as you can he see for the time being. Many people are being forced to work from home. We get news alerts because we are on the river and started get agriculture alerts. My daughter and wife called me. I came back up about 80 00 and started doing what they needed to do. With in an hour it was already coming through. They are saying is only three inches. Yeah. I know. Whats funny is the prior couple weeks they said it was worse. This time they said it wasnt that bad and this time it was way bad. Some people brought out there are own chainsaws to help their neighbors remove some of the fallen trees. They are closely watching a rising creek. Long time residents have rarely seen the creek so high. Big tree limbs like that and stumps are rushing down the creek can and its still rising. Caltrans called in a machine to crush the debris piling up and clear the block age to keep the water from going over the edge of the bridge. Its a lot of water. Im concerned for residents. I want them to know we are doing everything we can to keep them safe. Out of precaution a voluntary evacuation was issued for woodland creek. Also west bayshore was shut down so cal trans could have a place to put all of that debris. In the east bay 22 people were evacuated from the Redwood Canyon golf course because of major flooding as you see here. This is video from the Alameda County fire department. That golf course is in Castro Valley next to San Leandro Creek and creek over flowed forcing people to use suvs to get the people out. The owner of a marin art gallery said sometimes the worst situations bring out the best in people. Warning sirens went off early yesterday signal that the creek was flooding in downtown san michael feldmans daughter said that floodwaters may threaten his gallery. He rushed to his business and was surprised by what he saw. People were putting sandbags at my door for me. Its that kind of community. People were looking out the for each other. They were sandbagging across the street. Total strangers. He said that the reaction to the big storm makes him appreciate both town and his neighbors even more. Her mother testified she told the jury she and her daughter moved here in 2011 and then talked about the morning routine they had before school. She said every morning i told her i love you and she replied i love you mom. She said that she was in a state of panic when she couldnt reach her daughter by phone or text later that day. Any parent with a teenaged child when they dont check in its scary and you do get terrible thoughts going through your head. Officials will only confirm that the fire chief is on leave. They havent discussed the reason. The deputy chief said she is caring for an ill relevantlive. The Firefighters Union said that she has been out for weeks and the chief was criticized for the departments failure to inspect the ghost ship warehouse. Starting today people in businesses affected by the warehouse fire will be able to receive help from the federal government. The United States Small Business administration will open a disaster loan Outreach Center. Groups eligible for the loans include business of any size. Most nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters. The center on the second floor, that Outreach Center will only be open today through friday from 8 30 in the morning until noon. Almost eight months after the deadly pulse nightclub shooting in florida some are angry about how the almost 30 milliondollar victims fund is being given outn. One email one man said that he is being denied compensation from that fund because he and his boyfriend were not inside the club during the shooting. They were in the valet area outside when the gunman started shooting. Both claim they were traumatized but the eligibility standards require people to have been inside the club. During the shooting in order to get money from the fund. 49 people were killed during the shooting rampage. More than 50 were wound. I also before we go i dont i dont want to go away without talking about highway 17 which has been shut down a couple of lanes have been shut down in the mountains for emergency slide repair. Two lanes are getting by but usually its four at that point and traffic may be busier there. Going back to 880 in oakland. 880 northbound at davis. They are clearing an injury accident there. Traffic may be slow trying to get up to the the oakland airport. Lets bring in mark. Im staning by ready for you. All right. Now. Mark. Thats me. I will say i saw marin yesterday for the drive and its amazing when they shut down one lane. I think it was around marin with the high tide flooding. How that creates a huge problem downstream. That could be a concern with the rainfall and high tide. Which we have a lot of green showing up and bulk of the action focused in the north bay. These are all storm reports around the bay area. Wind reports and debris flow and flooding. You can see how widespread the problems were yesterday on tuesday. Here is the coverage right now. Some of the action up in the north bay.
