We have more than 350 volunteers and guides that are going through a Training Session right now and soon they will head out to nearby camps, also to shelters in that area to speak to people who are homeless and living on the streets this is called the point in time count attempt happens every two years. Why do you need a count of home else . Two reasons. One is because its required by the federal government. Our funding depends on it. The others is that we this helps us get an idea of what our Homeless Population is. We find out how many homeless family doss we have . You also have guides. They are people who are formerly homeless. They have a sense of kind of where to go. What is the information i are looking for many what do you want it get out of this count . The count thats going on this morning is entirely visal. We arent approaching people or finding out how long have you been homeless. Over the next two weeks the same guides will go out and do peer to peer surveys where they find out how old people are, what gender, if they are veterans, how long they have been out.
