One person was killed in a shooting south of downtown. It happened late last night near the under section of willow and sherman street. There is an active investigation. You can see janine de la vega out there. What can you tell us, janine . The coroner arrived here in the last 30 minutes to examine the body that is laying here on the sidewalk. You know, the crime scene detective is here. Police received a report at around 10 00 that a person was shot on Willow Street near sherman. They found a man with one gunshot unit laying on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The gunman ran away, some witnesses say but no detailed description. Suspect thats been released. Neighbors were in the area that may have witnessed the shooting, some being interviewed by the police department. They are looking into the possibility that this may have been an attempted robbery. This area is known for prostitution and gang. We dont know if there is a connection. Police are still in the early stages of their investigation. At this point, we dont know the victims identity or if there is any tie to this neighborhood. Janine de la vega from san jose. We are following developing news. Yet another shooting targeting Police Officers, this time in san diego and one officer was killed and another wounded. A Police Officer was kid, a second wounded late last night. This happen add few miles south of downtown san diego, just west of where interstate 15 and interstate 5 meet. Police have not yet said exactly what touched off the violence. We do understand this happened during a traffic stop in that area. We do know that one person was taken into custody in connection with the shooting and then, right now, there is an active search still going on right now for another person who may have been involved in that shooting. San diegos police chief spoke out a short time ago. She called this a heartbreaking loss for the department. We are still, again, waiting to get more information on this developing story. A San Francisco man who confronted another man for urinating in public ended up being beaten unconscious and in the hospital. A passerby found the victim and called police. Modesto police say that an offduty corrections officer shot and wounded a man with a knife outside of a costco supermarket happening late yesterday afternoon at a store on hillandale he have. I dont know what his deal was. Feel got close to him, he was pointing the knife towards them. Police say that offduty officer shot the suspect outside of the store when he refused to drop his knife. The suspect is in the hospital this morning listed in critical condition. The time is 5 38. Oakland Police Tracked down a man accused of firing a shot at an Oakland Police sergeant. We still dont know the mans name yet. Oakland police say that he fired shots at Sargeant Nadia Clark while she was frapped in her suv after a traffic collision. As for motive, miss say that suspect may have been inspired by the antipolice sentiment seen in recent killings of Police Officers in dallas and baton rouge.
