Lets go back to the desk. New developments in last nights freeway shooting in richmond that injured a 2year old boy. It happened on i880. A female teenager and a man in his 20s they were the intended targets. They were hurt in the shooting. The little boy was in another car with two adults and two children. A stray bullet hit the window, shattered glass hit the child. The chp says the two intended targets were treated add a hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. As of now, no suspects. Since november, there have been five shootings on i80. A 6th shooting happened near the freeway on Richmond City street. Two people were killed in these attacks. The chp says the shootings are not random but they dont know if they are connected and some may be gang related. Alex savidge will have a live report on this at 7 30. Two back to back fires on the same street. The first was on sonoma boulevard at 1 30. The second just before 2 00 at the animal advocates veterinarian hospital. Both fires occurred outside and no one was hurt. The fate of the Oakland Raiders may be decided at a meeting of nfl team owners that starts today in texas. The owners will discuss the possibilities of the raiders, the chargers and or is rams moving to los angeles. Janine de la vega is live in santa clara with what fans are saying. Reporter the nfl owners and league officials, they are meeting in houston today to discuss the fate of the Oakland Raiders, the san diego chargers, and the st. Louis rams. And theres an early report that shows there is a growing consensus that the owners are favoring a plan to keep the raiders in the bay area and part of the reason is levis stadium that you can see behind me. The l. A. Times is reporting that the owners are favoring a plan to move the rams and the chargers to l. A. And have them share a stadium at the englewood site. That would leave the raiders to build their own stadium or share the levis stadium with the 49ers. The chargers owner has publicly said hes committed to their plan to build a new stadium in carson with the chargers. Weve been working on it for over a year. And worked hard on it. Whatever the decision of the owners is, well abide by it. The raiders proposal needs support from 24 of the 32 owners to be approved. The fact that levis stadium could accommodate the raiders may factor in. A deal would need to be worked out with the niners. Theyll hopeful theyll consider the rich history and weigh the city or cities they are willing to abandon. Raiders fans will be watching what the nfl owners do. A vote is not expected today. Witnesses say the attackers first set off a car bomb at the entrance to the mall and gunmen stormed inside shooting at people before setting off suicide bombs. Islamic state terror group claimed responsibility for the attack. San francisco supervisor david campos will introduce a resolution offering a public apology to the family of mario woods. Woods was the 26yearold africanamerican shot and killed by San Francisco police last month. Supervisor campos says his resolution calls for july 22nd, mario woods birthday, to be declared mario woods remembrance day. Officers say woods was a stabbing suspect and had a knife with him during the confrontation with police. Fremont police are announcing that a teenager who disappeared 33 years ago may have been a victim of foul play. He was 14 years old when he left his home october 5, 1982. Officers thought he may have been a runaway. And Fremont Police are investigating leads that indicate he did not runaway. Investigators wont comment on what prompted the change. And according to the examiner, Vicki Hennessy is working with Legal Advisers to rescind a memo by the former sheriff. The memo advised officials not to cooperate with immigration authorities when they are freed without a court order. During the Campaign Hennessy said he would prefer to look at it on a case by case basis. The policy came under fire following the shooting death of a woman by an undocumented immigrant who is a convicted felon. Mexicos military released video of when they raided the hideout of escaped mexican drug lord el chapo that led to his arrest. Guzman escaped through a secret passage and was captured a short time later. Hes back in the same maximum security prison he escaped from six months ago. The metering lights were just turned on and the traffic is going to be getting slower. Lets take a look at the commutes in the east bay. 680 from concord to walnut creek. 580 is not bad. A little bit of slowing from the altamont pass. And from livermore its off to a nice start. 5 31. Lets go back to the desk. A 2yearold boy was injured on a shooting on i80 in the east bay. The targets of the attack were in another car on the freeway. Alex savidge is at the gas station where the boys family drove to call for help after the shooting. Reporter this is where they came to get help. The family with three young kids in the backseat was just driving along the freeway last night and a bullet flew through the back window and this happened 7 45 last night on eastbound i80 near richmond parkway. A 2yearold child in the backseat was hurt by shattered glass. Thankfully, no one else in the car was injured or hit by gunfire. The chp says the family was caught in the middle of a car to car shooting on the freeway. Those shots were intended for someone in another car nearby. Now immediately after the shooting, the family pulled off the freeway and came to this gas station to get help. It is something that we would like never to see happen. And unfortunately it does. And thankfully, nobody was injured seriously or killed. Reporter the chp thought that only the familys car, the car with the children inside, had been struck by gunfire. And later on in the evening, two other shooting victims did show up at a nearby hospital. A man and a woman both of them with nonlifethreatening injuries. And investigators believe that they in fact were the intended targets here. And of course, there have been a number of shootings on this stretch of i80 since last year. Authorities are not drawn a connection as of right now. Very scary, alex. Thank you. We turn now to the deadly bart shooting over the weekend. A source tells us theres quote good Surveillance Video of the suspect in that attack. Bart police will not say whether the Surveillance Video came from cameras on board the train or the platform but they say they are not ready to release the Surveillance Video. Witnesses say the gunman on the train approached the victim as the train was pulling into the west oakland bart station. The gunman fired two shots and left the train. A passenger who did not want to show her face told us what happened. A nightmare come to life. And people were running for safety. I was standing near the escalator, the wrong direction to get down so i took cover beneath a concrete wall. The Coroners Office is working to identify the victim and could not confirm that he was a Foreign National as had been previously reported. Witnesses describe the shooter as an africanamerican man in his 20s or 30s, 62 or 63 with a slim build, broad shoulders and what they describe as a scruffy face. He wore a long green trench coat and had a backpack. A san jose Security Guard was accused of sexually assaulting a woman whose car broke down. He stopped to help a woman and her friend saturday. They say he said he was a police officer. And he offered to give her a ride home. Police say during the ride diaz attacked the woman. Her friend was given a ride home by a tow truck rider. Police arrested diaz near the womans apartment complex. Sheriffs deputies are searching for two suspects blamed for home burglaries. He and another man broke into two homes in the incorporated Emerald Lake Hills community. These images im showing you now this was taken by a security camera. Take a look. On december 30th. The men broke into a house and ran away when they realized someone was home. A couple of hours later, they ransacked another house where a 93yearold man was at home. A San Francisco supervisor plans to introduce legislation to make gender neutral bathrooms mandatory in the city. They rallied in front of city hall. David campos authored the measure. Single stall restrooms would be available for men and women. Other cities have been ahead of the curve when it comes to this. And San Francisco you would think would be leading the way. Its actually many years behind. Supporters say the gender neutral bathrooms would lead to shorter lines for women. And would help transgender people, parents with kids, and anyone helping anyone who is helping someone who is disabled or elderly. Chips, chocolate, and junk food may disappear from some vending machines in San Francisco. He wants to ban sugary snacks. The proposal would also require healthier foods at city meetings. A Santa Clara County judge is expected to rule today on the big legal battle between the nfl and the youth soccer league. The league wants the judge to issue a temporary injunction to stop work by the nfl on the soccer fields outside levis stadium. The permit only allows youth soccer. And the city offered the fields to the nfl to be used by the media and for security purposes for super bowl which cancels two months of soccer games. The San Jose Mercury news reports that the earthquakes are offering two feeds at their stadium to the youth soccer field. No details have been worked out just yet. Super bowl sunday is 26 days away. Some of the people who live near levis stadium are anxious about whats going to happen in the neighborhood. Santa claras police chief held a Community Meeting talking about potential traffic and security issues. People in the neighborhood say the biggest concern right now is they dont know what to expect. I hear theyre doing security and Homeland Security will be here and all that stuff. How is that going to affect the roads, us getting to where we need to go . The chief says problems with traffic could be the biggest headache. To help with that, tasmin drive will be closed starting january 31st. And 400 nfl buses will be used a specially designated lane on highway 101. Levis stadium is being transformed into the home of super bowl l right now. The condition of the field is one of the big e concerns for any game but especially for the super bowl. Levis stadium has had problems with the turf. The nfl is laying down new grass which is standard procedure. The nfls field director is keeping an eye on the weather and his workers are prepared to move quickly if it looks like it could rain. Were ready for just about anything. And we plan for that and have a backup for that. Like i said, the 49ers have addressed everything theyve done. Theyve done a great job of it. There are a lot of changes off the field as well. The framework for two giant tents look at that going up in the parking lot. A huge billboard of the lombardi trophy is on the outside of the stadium. One of the most beautiful views in the bay area could be off limits during the super bowl week. Theres a plan to block vista point. There are already problems with traffic backing up on the bridge. There are concerns that the problem could just get worse as crowds come to the bay area for the super bowl. Next week theyll discuss possible solutions. A placerville man is suing the 49ers, accusing the team of ticking him out of the stadium because of a service dog. He suffers from a neurological disorder and since his service dog helps him when he has seizures. He brought the dog to the game and was initially allowed in. He was later asked to leave. According to the lawsuit, the stressful situation triggered a seizure and forced him to be taken to the hospital. He claims the team violated the americans with disabilities act and is seeking unspecified damages. The team has not commented on the lawsuit. The future of the Oakland Raiders may be decided this week. The plan that nfl owners reportedly are leaning towards that could mean the raiders may stay in the bay area but not necessarily in oakland. And the Golden State Warriors continue to break records on the court. And what they did last night that makes them the 5th team ever to do it in nba history.
