Coastal flirting with 70s to 90s. Sal. We do have traffic that is is doing pretty well, steve, so far on this tuesday morning. Lets start off and take a look at some of the commutes here with the east bay and south bay. Traffic is moving along okay. I need to go to the east shear freeway. The east shore freeway 17 minutes between the carquinez bridge and mccarthur maze. Now to the bay bridge toll plaza where traffic will be getting a little bit slower as you drive through. As you drive out to the cash lanes on the right you can see a line forming. And in the south bay we are talking about northbound 680 that accident has been cleared. The rest is moving along very nicely as well. 5 01 lets go back to the desk. As you heard sal say interstate 680 is open again after a multivehicle crash shut it down earlier this morning. Ktvu fox 2 janine de la vega is joining us live. Youre in san jose so what happened and what is happening now janine. Reporter we moved off of the freeway because it wasnt safe for us to be there anymore because the chp ended up clearing the accident. It happened clear to the san Jose Milpitas border. It involved three vehicles and possiblely one more. It all happened just after 3 00 a. M. This morning in the northbound lanes of 680. Officers say it appears it started as a solo vehicle accident and two other vehicles hit the initial car involved. When firefighters and paramedics arrived, they found three people injured. Two women and one man was taken to the hospital. A fourth vehicle pulled up to the scene and was damaged but officers are not sure if it was involved in the accident. There was lots of glass and debris around there. They are at the hospital trying to see if they can interview the people involved. Really just to piece together what happened earlier this morning. But the good news is 680 northbound is open. Dave. All right janine de la vega, thank you. Were following a developing story. Brian you are following this about a missing man. That is right. Marin county search and rescue launched a search yesterday. Now he is described as six feet tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was on an over night camping trip with his wife and friends. The search again set to continue at 8 00 this morning. We will be out there as well. The coast guard says they plan to use a helicopter to lp find him. Were also following developing news from San Francisco where two people were injured in a shooting in the mission district. That happened at 24th and mission just about midnight. Police say one victim a man in his 50s was probably just an innocent bystander. The other shooting victim was a man in his 20s and investigators want to know if he was targeted. Both shooting victims are expected to survive. Two cars were also damaged. Several surveillance cameras in the area will be examined by police as they continue to search for the suspects. We are following that developing news out of San Francisco this morning where a shooting injured two men in the citys mission district. Ktvu alex savidge is joining us now with what happened and what we learned about the victim. It sounds like one person was an innocent bystander. Reporter that is what it sounds like. Pam, good morning to you. It sounds as though someone drove up and opened fire on what was a fairly crowded bus stop last night. This is the bus stop just across from us here on mission street. And you can see that the two bus shelter there is are surrounded by yellow tape and that is because all the glass was shot out of those bus shelters last night in this shooting. We do understand that one of the two people hit by gunfire last night was a man in his 50s and he appears to have been an innocent bystander in all of this. The second victim were told was a man in his 20s and its possible that he may have been targeted here. The shooting happened about midnight here at 24th and mission in San Francisco. A number of shots were fired out here. In fact, bullets hit two different cars that were nearby as well. Now police havent said exactly what led up to the shooting, what prompted the violence here but both men that were hit are expected to survive. That is the good news in all of this. We talked to a woman that was waiting at the same bus stop and she heard from a witness that this was possibly a drive by that appeared to be gang related. There was two people that were wearing red and some people from down a couple blocks down that wear blue drove up and shot whoever was here. Innocent people. Reporter now there are quite a few surveillance cameras in this area on the street signs and the bids as well and the businesses as well. Police are going over that footage and hoping to identify the people involved in this shooting. No arrests have been made by San Francisco police and again those two victims, two men, one of them potentially an innocent bistand bystander in all of this. Amazing no one else was hurt. Like you said a crowded bus stop. Reporter it really is incredible. According to one of the witnesses there were a number of people there when the shots rang out. Hopefully they will get more information. Thank you alex. Time is 5 33. Lets get you out the door right now. Steve has your forecast. And dress light . I would. Especially if youre in the city. The Interior Valley but maybe its for San Francisco and the bay and down to santa cruz mountains. 64 to start in San Francisco. I went 92 today. Should be closer to 70s. 50s on the temps. 60s for some. We are running much warmer than 24 hours ago. Sunshine warm to hot today. Near 100 inland. 90s around the bay. 70s and 80s and 90s closer to the beaches. All right sal 5 34. What do you have for us . We will start with bart. Bart was down over the weekend in the transbay tube but now bart service is running but there are some delays as they check the tracks. This is a live look at one of the stations as people are waiting. You will be able to take the bart train. Bart officials dont seem to think these will last too long. A lot of people will be on the trains. Lets go out and take a look at bay bridge toll plaza. That is backed up. The metering lights went on a little early. A lot of people are on the road early. Its backed up all the way beyond the army base over crossing now. Its already a 1015 minute delay. And if you are driving in san jose, continues to look good. On 880 southbound getting there out of fremont into san jose it looks good on 880 and also on 680 on the sunol grade. So we are off to a decent start. At 5 35 lets go back to the desk. There is a very important warning for swimmers and surfers heading to the beach during this really hot and sunny week. You are being warned watch out for dangerous rip currents and sneaker waves. Rob roth has more on what the life guards are doing. Reporter this young man did not have a wet suit or a fin so the life guard told him to go near shore. We will use the horn in the truck or whistle them in. Reporter the reason for the caution, sneaker waves and rip currents. Ocean beaches are notorious for them. They can knock a person down and drag them out in a heartbeat. Its not a swim pool, its not even a river. Its the Pacific Ocean that can do anything. Reporter sofa this year there have been no drownings at ocean beach but last year a father and son drowned after a rip current over took them and drowned them. They really catch people by surprise and sweep them off their feet and sweep them out to deep water where they panic. And another reason why its so dangerous is our water temperature is a lot colder than southern california. And that creates panic. Reporter but many have gotten the message. This family with three small children came to ocean beach knowing the dangers but still safely having fun. They know they cant go in past their knees because the waves come in and pull them back. Even for me its dangerous. Proceed with extreme caution. At your own risk. Its totally posted that people die out here. Reporter if you happen to get caught in a rip current, the advice is to swim parallel to the shoreline until you feel free of it. Life guards are expected to be out here for the rest of the week. Rob roth ktvu fox 2 news. Thank you. Temperatures inland are expected to reach are you ready . The triple digits this week. It will be hot. If you are going for a hike, carry a lot of water for you and if you are taking a pet, take water for your pets too. They have issued a spare alert for today. They say the hot weather coupled with vehicle exhaust will create unhealthy ozone levels and foggy conditions. San francisco is taking very seriously the forecast for a strong el nino winter. Someone spray painted the words no more chinese. Neighbors say the graffiti popped up sometime between saturday night and sunday morning.
