A developing story out of San Francisco where two cyclists were killed in separate hitandruns. One in Golden Gate Park and the second in the market area. The suspect remains on the loose in the golden gate incident. A car slammed head on into a cyclist going the opposite direction. The victim was a woman in her 30s. Her bent bike and shoes were scattered on the road. Heading westbound, going like 50, 60 Miles Per Hour and ran right into a lady riding her bike in the bike lane. Investigators say the suspect abandoned the car in a parking lot near the casting inside Golden Gate Park. The second hitandrun happened at 7th and howard streets. A ktvu viewer tweeted pictures of First Responders tending to the victim. A driver ran a red light and crashed into a man on a bicycle. Officers tracked down the driver a few blocks away. There are new developments from the brock turner Sexual Assault. The prosecutor is pushing for tougher mandatory sentences in Sexual Assault cases. One of the things the judge had to consider is whether the victim was conscious or not. The penalty for Sexual Assaulting a woman should be the same no matter the victims condition. Convicted rapists whether they committed the crimes on campus or off campus, what racial or ethnic background must be sentenced to prison. Rape is rape. If state lawmakers approve the plan it would require the attacker to spend time in prison, not placed on probation. He is likely to be released after three months. He supports a minimum sentence of three years and a maximum of eight years in prison. Several men showed support for Sexual Assault victims. The event is called walk a mile in her shoes. The men put on high heels and attempted to raise awareness and money for victim and advocacy groups. A new use of force policy was approved that calls for officers to try to deescalate situations using crisis intervention training. An elderly man is believed to have died in a house fire in santa rosa. The fire broke out in a home on nebraska avenue just before noon. Stan turner and his wife Beatrice Turner lived at the home. Beatrice was taken to a nearby hospital and firefighters later found a body inside the home. The flames were spreading so fast that six nearby homes had to be evacuated. The cause of the fire is under investigation. A grass roots effort is underway in San Francisco to raise money for those affected by a fire on saturday.
