Its going to be nice out there. We will remain cold at the coast but wasnt for the rest of us. At this hour you can see the fog is back over the oakland estuary. As we look toward San Francisco, they are checking in at 53. Upper 50s in oakland. 50, santa rosa. Upper 50s in livermore and san jose. These numbers are similar to yesterday. You can see that here with the 24 hour temper change. A few degrees warmer at sfo and napa. Cooler in fairfield. The rest of us are very similar. The onshore breeze remains. I will look at the extended forecast coming up. A new report from the California Department of justice is showing a spike in reported hate crimes in our state. In 2016 there were 11. 2 more crimes reported than in 2015. More than half of those involved bias based on race, at the city or national origin. Africanamericans were the most common racially targeted group. And jewish people were the most targeted based on religion. The report also shows that race based hate crimes jumped 21. 3 . Those involving Sexual Orientation or up sent. Uc berkeley professor jack glaser is a crime expert and said the data is important but only shows part of the total picture. If you look at the National Crime Victimization Survey which is a random survey of people you will see 10 or 20 times more hate crime as what you see reported to the police.
