There is frustration in one san jose neighborhood where some say a memorial that is growing has be a come an eye sore. That memorial is for a young mother who died in a car crash at the entrance of Communications Hill. Why some people are so upset. Reporter here at Communications Hill homeowners pay top dollar for the views but its a sight at the entrance of the neighborhood that they arent happy about. They are spoiling a beautiful neighborhood by writing their junk all over the wall. If they want to do it find paper and do it on paper. Why do we have to look at it too . The memorial is okay for a week or so. After that they should move on. I dont see what putting rest in peace everywhere does for the dead. Reporter they are upset about this. What started as a memorial with candles and flowers on the side of the road has spread, rest in peace messages, grafitti splattered all over the area. You can see where tree tru in, k was painted over. This is a unique case. Apparently the young woman who died in the crash was Close Friends with people who are taggers. Reporter the messages are for a 19yearold. The young mother died in a car crash at this site on may 12th. A city spokesman said since then the citys grafitti team has been there a dozen times to clean up the grafitti only for it to return costing taxpayers money. Grafitti is vandalism. If you vandalize private and public property and it does doesnt seem to be a respectful way to honor someone. Reporter friends say they are still mourning, unsure who is behind it and claim a family doesnt like the tagging either. At least one neighbor likes it. They are going to disgreece but im an artist. I see things that may not be beautiful for other people but i see beauty in that. Reporter most say that its never the right response and not how the victim should be remembered. I have never seen anyone go as far as to continuely tag up the area. I dont understand what it has to do with the mourning process. Reporter ktvu fox 2news. A new study by uc berkeley appeared in Science Magazine and its answering that question and breaking some new ground. The Research Team looked at almost 700gps sensors all over the state.
