San Francisco Police are searching this morning for whoever carried out a daylight deadly shooting, it happened at a mcdonalds across the street from a police station. Alex savage joins us from San Francisco to talk about what police know so far about this, alex. Reporter pam, good morning to you. We know detectives are going over surveillance video. They did that yesterday, trying to identify the shooter. This person was shot as he sat inside of a car pulling out of this Mcdonalds Drivethru. You can take a look here how close this is to the Northern Police station here. Its just across the street. Officers inside that station could hear the gunfire yesterday. This happened just before 3 00 in the afternoon. The shooter walked up to the car and then fired on the man in the passengers seat. He got out of the car but collapsed on the sidewalk and died later at the hospital. The shooter ran around the block after that, hopped into a waiting car that then sped off. Investigators now say they will be looking into whether this killing may have been gang related. This is unfortunate circumstance any time somebody gets shot like this. But whether or not he was targeted, it is an Ongoing Investigation that will be determined later. Reporter that get away car that was used yesterday afternoon is described as a gray sedan, either a honda or possibly a toyota and it had black paper plates with gold lettering. According to some witnesses, the car drove off with four men inside. One of them wearing a ski mask. People who live nearby as you can well imagine they are stunned by this violence, especially since it happened in the middle of the day across from the police station, and in fact our crew was out here last night. Some people told our crew they knew who the victim was and say he was a 26yearold man who grew up here in this neighborhood, pam. So frightening. Thank you, alex. Heres a look at the other top stories were following. Today police are expected to release more information about the discovery of a body of a missing san jose woman. Hayward police say they found the body of Stacey Aguilar saturday afternoon. She was last seen leaving a party in hayward with her boyfriend on sunday, february 14th. Her family reported her missing the next day. Police have not said where they found her body, but they have said they believe her death is a homicide. More corrosion has been found in the eastbound tunnel on the bay bridge. Just last month a 2foot chunk of concrete fell in the tunnel, missing a car. Since then caltrans found 12 other spots where the concrete may be in danger of falling. Caltrans says it removed all the loose material from the wall, so there is no risk to drivers. Engineers say the problem is due to corrosion caused by leakage. Another handgun reported missing by a federal agent in San Francisco. An hk pistol went missing friday morning, belongs to an immigration and Customs Enforcement agent. He says he left it on top of his car. Local and federal authorities are now looking for that gun. The picture of what it would look like. They are especially concerned after handguns stolen from federal agents were involved in two murders last year. In july, one person was killed in San Francisco, and the another killed in september. Both shot with stolen agents funs. The director of the fbi says his agency owes it to the victims of the San Bernardino attacks to gain access to the cell phone of one of the shooters. He says the fbi cant look into the eyes of the survivors of the attacks if his agents dont follow up. His comments come five days after a federal judge ordered apple to help hack an iphone used by syed farook. Apple is fighting that. Privacy advocates say theyll gather at apple stores tomorrow across the country. The group called fight for the future is organizing what it calls a show of support for apples stand against the government. Demonstrations are planned in 30 cities around the world, including here in San Francisco and pal alto. So far, executives from google, twitter, facebook have come out in support of apple. The company that made the rifle used in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting wants a lawsuit thrown out filed by some of the families of the students and educators killed in the massacre. They say the rifle is just too dangerous to sell to the public. Later today lawyers from the Freedom Group are expected to argue that the company is protected by federal law that prevents gun producers from being sued if their products are used in criminal activities. A connecticut judge is set to hear arguments this afternoon. A new survey finds inmates at the Santa Clara County jail system often dont file complaints because of fear of retaliation. Almost 1,000 prisoners were surveyed and they say they have given up making complaints because of fear of losing privileges or abuse by guards. Locked complaint collections boxes are being installed in the jail, so inmates can feel safer making complaints. Theres an online petition protesting San Franciscos Police Officer phillip whites renne statement to the force. He was reinstated earlier this month. Organizers of the petition hope it will encourage the city to challenge the order. A man in san jose was arrested in connection with a deadly stabbing. Hes accused of stabbing two men outside a bar on south white road before 1 00 saturday morning. Both men were rushed to the hospital. One later died. Tafolla was arrested later in the day. Police havent released further details on a motive. Police looking for a man who exposed himself to three teenageed girls in daly city. They say he walked into a mission saturday afternoon and flashed the girls. They left the store while the man stayed inside. Police say the suspect is in his early 20s, between 58 and 6 feet tall, with shoulder length hair black with light brown tips. Former state senator yee scheduled to be sentenced later this week. Prosecutors are seeking an 8 year prison sentence. His attorneys are arguing for a much shorter punishment and asking the judge to take into the account the fact that yees wife is ill and needs help with daily tasks. Sentencing is set for wednesday. A bay area billionaire is now asking the state for millions of dollars in exchange for allowing access to his San Mateo County beach property. Two years ago a judge ordered him to open the gate to martins beach. According to the San Jose Mercury news, hes asking the state for 30 million in exchange for the right of way to the beach, which is just south of half moon bay. The state Lands Commission says it does not agree with the price. State law passed in 2014 directs officials to consider taking the right of way by imminent domain if negotiations fail. Also happening today, the city of San Francisco is set to consider raising the age to buy Tobacco Products to 21. It would join the city of berkeley and unincorporated Santa Clara County in raising the age. Committee of the board of supervisors will look at the ordinance today. The city has already received a letter from a tobacco lobbying group that the ordinance contradicts state law. It may be easier for thousands of undocumented immigrant students at public universities in california to get help to pay for tuition. College officials are reaching out to an estimated 10,000 undergraduates who qualify for the california dream loan. Its a low interest loan for undocumented students studying at the campuses. Governor brown signed off on the program two years ago, but the money did not become available until january. While supporters say the loans will help immigrant students integrate into society, critics argue it will encourage i will likely immigration and hurt taxpayers. Facebook messenger users will soon see more changes, but this time for their privacy. It will allow more than one user to use the app on a shared device like a tablet. Now the focus shifts to the battle over who should replace him. President obama is in the process of whittling down a number of potential replacements to a short list. Friday he was photographed at the white house carrying a thick binder with the resumes of people who the white house says may be worthy of consideration. I suspect the president will be dedicating a significant portion of his weekend digging into at that information. President obama is promising to nominate somebody so qualified that even his political opponents would agree to support. He has not said when hell reveal his nomination. Some california wineries say a decision made by Justice Scalia is something they will never forget, because of the impact it made on their business. The warning for people in that community. Welcome back. Time is 4 53. A driver is recovering this morning after a Chain Reaction crash sent his truck flying over the edge of a highway. Started out as a minor collision early yesterday morning between two cars on interstate 80 near enterprise boulevard. Another car slammed into them and the driver of a budget rental truck lost control and went over the side of the freeway. The driver was trapped in the cab and rescue crews say the biggest challenge was their access to where the truck landed. Cant get there really by the roads with a fire engine, so we had to do our rescue from the top of the roadway. It was a challenge. The chp says no alcohol or drugs were involved, just a matter of speed and inattention. People being warned dont feed the deer in a santa cruz neighborhood after a Mountain Lion was captured and released. The animal was tranquilizeed and safely brought back to its natural habitat. They found a deer caucus nearby, and believe the lion was atacted to the area because there are a lot of deer there. It appears people are feeding the deer which is illegal and dangerous. The wife of bill cosby is expected to answer questions under oath in a lawsuit filed by seven women who claim cosby sexually assaulted them years ago. A judge ruled the deposition can proceed. The women say cosby defamed them by calling them liars after they went public with the allegations of sexual assault. He has filed his own lawsuit. A new Study Confirms hollywood lacks diversity. It looked at 414 films and shows that aired between 2014 and 2015. Researchers analyzed more than 11,000 speaking characters for gender, racial, sexual and ethnic representation.
