He tells me someone, three men opened fire on to undercover officers last night. Two of those men have been taken into custody, a third remains outstanding. As you can see, quite a few Police Officers are out here weve also seen members of s. W. A. T. Out here as well. They are searching for one man sought to be armed, in his 20s. Again, he is thought to be armed and obviously believed to be quite dangerous given the circumstances. The chief tells me this all began with a Homicide Investigation last night on the 1400 block of 90th ave. He tells me there were to undercover detectives who are in that area working followup on a Homicide Investigation, thats when someone opened fire on those to undercover officers. The officers were not hit by the gunfire, and people who fired those shots then drove away from that scene and wound up in this particular neighborhood where we are this morning. They actually crashed her car. Patrol officers were able to move in and take two of those people into custody. Again, a man remains outstanding and obviously a very dangerous and volatile situation. They want to make sure they can find this person as quickly as they can. Listen to the chief. This person used violence unprovoked. Its a dangerous person. We want to get them off the street. Reporter and again, many streets in this area blocked off here with Police Officers this morning. Were at the intersection of 50 fifth avenue and foothills. But if you go all the way down for about five or six blocks, this entire area is closed off and police try to close in on an armed man believed to have been one of three people involved in a shooting up on undercover officers late last night. They were doing a Homicide Investigation and they were fired upon, we did confirm with the chief a short time ago, those officers were not hit by gunfire. We obviously, pam, will stay out here and continue to monitor the fluid situation. A major search underway in the neighborhood, we will let you know when i find them and they are looking for.
