Steve paulson has everything you need to know. A lot of clouds out there. Not as cold. Tomorrow looks to be very warm for game three. Its game four im concerned about. There is a front coming in. But it wont impact game three. I think it breezy and mild with 70degree temperatures. We have rain up north from willits. So far nothing in sonoma county. Doesnt mean its not happening. But radar shows things are picking up. It is a sign of things to come here for the north bay today. South of that it will be a lot of clouds and not much else. The lows are up because the cloud cover and sunrise should be beautiful again. A couple of filtering in. Not as cold. 60s in areas 10 degrees cooler than this including alamo and san ramon. Yesterday they were in the 40s. Things have warmed up due to some of the cloud cover. There is a partial Solar Eclipse from 2 00 to 4 30. North you are out of luck. On the mild side with a lot of 70s. Sal, i know we had a highspeed chase. I know thats been resolved. Its been resolved. We have a lot of slow traffic in some areas and a lot in others. Lets go to a lot first. A 40minute drive. You can see it there. Its especially heavy coming down to the toll plaza. Well see traffic thats going to remain busy throughout the area. Once you get on the bridge, there are no major problems on span. There was an earlier collision on the incline section. Thats been cleared off. But the traffic is not recovering just yet. Lets move along to the commute in marin county. Southbound 101 backed up out of highway 37 down towards central san rafael and after that it looks good to the golden gate bridge. Back to the desk. All right, sal. At 7 04. The Kansas City Royals arrived in San Francisco this morning after winning game 2 of the world series. They beat the giants last night, 72. The giants got off to an early 10 lead but then kansas city broke the game open with a big 6th inning. It included a tworun home run and then things got heated. Strickland was yelling on the mound. Kansas city players started to pour out from the bench. Things got kind of testy. Strickland said he was just mad at himself. Kansas city won the game 72. Were told the giants, they will arrive back in San Francisco this afternoon. And when they do come back, their first stop will be at t park. This morning, weve taken you inside the ballpark to get everything ready for the game tomorrow night. Alex savidge is live. He has a great spot inside at t park. You are able to show us the team may not be there yet but their gear its there, right . Reporter yeah, dave. You know, theres lot of other people here. The players are not here inside at t park. But its not even a game day. Take a look behind us. You see the hardworking men and women here at tea park busy cleaning up all of the thousands of seats here inside the ballpark to make sure they are all clean and ready to go for game 3 of the world series as it returns here to San Francisco the third time in five seasons. Of course, we know a thing or two about hosting a world series here in this city. The folks are hard at work this morning. The players will not arrive back in town until later this afternoon. Once they do get back here, they come straight to the ballpark for a practice session. Let me show you the scene. We watched all of the players equipment arrive in bags. Of course, the giants looking to downs back from that tough lost in kansas city. They dropped that game to the royals. Fans were feeling good early on, but things fell apart in the 6th inning. We are knotted up at a game apiece. Giants are feeling good, three games mere at at t park. Friday, saturday, sunday. Meantime, San Francisco police, they are also preparing for all of the crowds in the bars and the restaurants and here near the ballpark and are warning fans to make sure they celebrate safely. Lets show everybody how San Francisco can light up and celebrate our team while at the same time nobody gets here and nothing gets damaged. Reporter and the police chief also said there will be quite a few extra officers onhand here this weekend throughout the weekend, friday, saturday and sunday. That includes undercover officers, some of whom will be dressed up as Kansas City Royals fans. This is something that we see folks police and other agencies doing San Francisco police and other agencies doing. They will be dressed up in the opposing team to make sure everybody behaves themself and celebrate safely in the event the team is able to capture another championship which could happen as soon as sunday night. The glass, it seems like each blade is perfectly cut. I dont know if they have someone come in and do it by hand. I dont know what the technique is. But it looks incredible. It looks absolutely incredible. You check out the paint job. They did this on the field painting the world series logo so the things are all set. Were learning that federal agents in kansas city seized counterfeit world series tickets worth thousands and thousands of dollars. Homeland security agents nabbed more than 125 phony tickets just before game one tuesday night. The tickets had an estimated street value of almost 45,000. The agents also seized counterfeit world series t shirts, sweatshirts, even baby clothes in several raids in that kansas city area. Ktvus janine de la vega is live in san jose with the video that shows dozens of motorcycle riders basically taunting a Police Officer. Good morning, janine. Reporter good morning, tori. We showed this video to a man who rides a motorcycle and he says he also drag races cars, and he says what these bikers do in this video just ruins it for those who do follow the rules. He wishes they would have gotten caught. Heres the video that was posted on youtube earlier this week. It shows a pack of bikers doing wheelies and speeding on 680 coming from milpitas and passing montague sproir, heading into san jose. The video shows a chp officer on a motorcycle trying to pull over some of the bikers but they ignore the siren and refuse to stop. They continue to do tricks and the officer, who is in the right lane, keeps trying to get them to pull over. At a certain point, the biker pulled up to the officer who tries to talk to him but no one pulled over, eventually the officer rides away and the bikers wave goodbye. We showed the clip to people this morning to get their thoughts. It doesnt seem like he could do anything at all. He could have called backup. These days all of the departments are spread thin. I mean, when hes alone like that, not much what he can do. Would have been nice to pull one over and put him in handcuffs. They have to start learning sometime. Reporter the video shows the group raising their fists after the officer leaves almost to show they were victorious and outpouring the officer. I just spoke with a chp spokesperson about a couple of minutes ago. He told me that they did look into that incident. They questioned that officer who reports that there was about 50 bikers on the freeway. Again, clearly outnumbered. He ended up pulling over to the side of the freeway and calling for backup. But even when they caught up, it doesnt seem as if they were able to cite any of them. Reporting live from san jose, janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. The speeds they were going, obviously very dangerous. Something the officer had to be careful about. Thank you. 7 15. A vault in san jose that was locked and forgotten for almost 30 years has now been open. There it is. That vault was kept in the back of an opened Orchard Supply Hardware Store that closed down in may. For 27 years, the combination of the vault and what was inside was a mystery. Inside were some artifacts including an old print ad, a rotary phone and blueprints for stores built years ago. We didnt know what we were gonna find. We were hoping it would be 200 million in gold bars. It wasnt but it was a great time capsule. Those gold bars would have been nice. As to what will happen to these treasures, some will probably go on a history wall at the osh corporate headquarters. A recall of cars with defectish air bags is being expanded. The ntsb has identified ten Car Manufacturers that used air bags made by the tekata company, including gm, honda and toyota. Those air bags had the potential to spray passengers were metal fragments when they are deployed. The number of recalls being recalled. 7. 8million. The agency says the car owners should act immediately to replace the air bags, especially people who live in humid climates. The recall affects many different makes and specific model years. So far under our hot topics, some Car Manufacturers are advising passengers not to be in the front seat because of the dang erk of the air bag danger of the air bag until its fixed. Right before i go on the air, i look at the chp list just to make sure nothing has come in at that last second. Sometimes we get accidents popping up. This is 24 westbound. I dont see a crash here. I do see a drive time thats a little bit higher than we normally see, by a few minutes on westbound 24. 13 minutes between Pleasant Hill road and the caldecott tunnel. As we look at the chp list, as i like to say, theres not a lot on it. Right now, traffic continues to look okay getting to the bay bridge toll plaza. Its about a 20, 25minute drive getting into San Francisco with no major problems. Lets talk about san jose and the south bay. Northbound 101, 280 nd 85 are slow. Weve had a couple of things on northbound 17. Some mooner crashes coming downg to the valley. They are off to the side. If you are drive on 17 down to the mountains down to los gatos, you will see an extra delay because of the earlier issues. 7 18. Lets go to steve. The sunrise pics beginning to come in. If you send me a pic, thats great. But tell me where you are. They look great. But im like where are you . I believe joe johnson taking a spin around to show us the high clouds and another beautiful sunrise. I think yesterday was a little more spectacular. The sunset was pretty good. A little bit of fog out there. Just a little bit. Mostly cloudy skies. Some rain to the north. 50s on the temperatures yesterday. You remember yesterday, it was cold at this time. We had 40s, not today. Its all 50s or low 60s. San francisco is in there. There is a lot going on. The system developing coming out of the gulf of alaska. It will get here saturday. It wont be here until then. It has a few days to go. A lot of cloud cover out in advance of it. Its going to come in and go right pack out of the picture. Its in here now. Some rain to the north, especially in Mendocino County and points north where theres been some pretty good rain up towards arkay da, Crescent City and honeydew had over an inch. Some of that light rain making it into Mendocino County, women lits. You can see some of that looks like it wants to get near ukiah. There is a little band from clearlake, windsor, calistoga. That looks to be the line, north. Anything south of that would be light. North of that could be steady. 50s on the temperatures for almost everybody or 60s. A far cry from yesterday due to the cloud cover. Were up 10 degrees for some. 60 in belmont. Los altos hills, 57. 55 up in tahoe. 45 for reno. 50s in redding. The mercury news reports gary cremin has raised nearly 350,000, most of it his own money, and thats five times more than any other candidate in the water districts history. Com but hes a founding investor and chairman of water smart, a local company that sells software to show residents how much water they are using compared to their neighbors. Dad the father of a man captured last night after he jumped over the white house fence says his son has men problems. Hes identified as a 23year old man from maryland. This happened after 7 00 last night. So the video is dark. But look. You can see the man in white shorts. The secret service dogs attacked him shortly after he jumped over the fence. His father says his son has been arrested outside of the white house before when he was bothering people saying he wanted to talk to the president. And you recall last month, another man jumped over the white house fence and actually got all of the way inside the white house. 7 27. A warning this morning about a new email scam involving the ebola outbreak. Cybersecurity Companies Say e mails that appear to be from the World Health Organization like this one you see on the screen actually contain attachments that can give hackers access to your computers and all of the files on it. The emails contain advice on preventing the spread of motorcycle and other infectious of ebola and other infectious diseases. Describers say you can protect yourself by never cligging on an attachment or email from someone you never recognize. Investigators are searching for the motive in the deadly shooting of an Army Reservist guarding the war memorial in ottawa. What police are saying about the gunman and possible terrorism connections. Its almost an hour to drive between the carquinez bridge and the macarthur maze. There was an earlier crash on the bay bridge. That slowed the metering lights down. I want to show you the bay bridge toll plaza. That crash was on the span. You can see cars are beginning to move through a little bit better but any crash, even a stalled vehicle on the bay bridge, usually leads to some pretty significant delays getting into San Francisco. Some people happen to think that thursday is one of the busiest traffic wednesday and thursday are the busiest traffic days of the week. I dont know if you agree with that. But today is a superbusy day. Westbound 580 driving through livermore. 680 is slow. Everywhere is slow. But we dont have any major crashes. That still means you will be waiting a lot in some of those major commutes. Lets go back to the desk. A San Francisco tour bus guide went on a bizarre racist tirade on what was her last day on the job and insulted the people of chinatown. Tara moriarty joining us live now from chinatown where you have been getting reactions to all of this and that, too, is surprising. Good morning, tara. Reporter it certainly is. We found one woman who actually agreed with the woman on the rant, but yet another who said that the tour guides musings were out of line and ignorant. Okay. When you come to america, you gotta assimilate a little bit. Here in america, we dont eat frogs. Okay. Thats chinatown. Okay. [laughter] reporter thats applause that you hear from folks on the bus. The woman on this video was shot by a tourist. She unleashed her fury toward chinatown and is taking swigs from a brown battle, presumably alcohol and bashes everything from the noise, to the laundry to the dragons. The reaction we received about her tirade was mixed. You always have a right to say what you have to say on your mind. Whatever you have to say get it off. I think she basically said some right things that somebody needed to say because if she didnt, who else was . Everybody is entitled to her opinion. Thats definitely hurtful. Im filipino but im also asian descent. I dont tolerate ignorance, really, and for the people in that tour bus to clap for Something Like that, thats really i mean, its unbelievable. Reporter tree id to track down the name of the Tour Bus Company but were unsuccessful. The supervisor of the district wants annal. Gy. He wants the apology. Oakland police are looking for suspects in a deadly shooting investigators say a 28 yearold woman was shot to death in the fruitvale district around 3 30 this morning. No word yet of what led up to the shooting. The oakland tribune reports this killing was oaklands 66th homicide of the year. Last year at this time, there were 79s 79 homicides in the city. Canada addressed the parliament after a gunman killed an Army Reservist. Police say the shooter was a lone gunman. Katie utehs is in the newsroom with what weve learned this morning about the gunman. Good morning, katie. Reporter powerful scenes coming from canada this morning. People paying respects at the war memorial spontaneously broke into the countrys national anthem. About a halfhour ago, the sergeant at arms who shot the gunman opened parliament to a standing ovation. [ applause ] you can see this is new video of the Canadian Parliament open for business this morning. The people you are seeing are the sale members who ran for cover as a gunman opened fire within the halls. Earlier this morning, the Prime Minister, stephen harper, and his wife, placed flowers at the war memorial where it started. Investigators say a lone gunman, 23yearold canadian morning, Michael Zehafbibeau, shot an Army Reservist in the back killing him. That Army Reservist was guarding the war memorial. The gunman then took off for the Parliament Building where he was then shot and killed. Friends of 24yearold Corporal Nathan cirillo, the Army Reservist shot and killed, are shocked by the senseless loss. I just didnt want to believe it. He was such an amazing person, aphasing father amazing father, amazing friend. He rescued dogs. He was just an awesome person. Reporter investigators are working to determine what motivated the attack and if Michael Zehafbibeau had terrorist connections. The Prime Minister says the violence has only united the country. When faced with attacks on the country, we all love and the things we all stand for i know we will always stand together. A chp officer in the east bay is reportedly accused of secretly sending nude photos of a dui suspect to his own phone. The Contra Costa Times reports 35yearold officer Shawn Harrington faces possible felony Computer Theft charges. Investigators reportedly discovered he had forwarded himself explicit photos while booking a 23yearold san ramon woman into jail in august. The fineyear chp veteran has been assigned to desk duty during this investigation. Fox newss cohost kimberly gofoil is causing a stir for comments she made on air. She seemed to say young women should not vote in the upcoming election. She explained how as an attorney she would frequently excuse younger women from jurors. Officials say that robots that give off ultraviolet light that can kill bacteria and viruses, they can help clean hospital rooms that have been used by ebola patients. 15 of these robots are being used at hospitals in southern california. Pam cook is in the studio to tell us what is at the center of this hot topic. The investigations will look into the ongoing dispute between mayor chuck reed and the Police Officers union. The latest controversy involves a letter published in the mercury news by a Police Department recruit who says the Police Union President jim unland encouraged recruits to drop out. In the letter, the recruit says that unland showed them a poor show in the academy would demonstrate the reforms. He were told the more recruits we get, the worse it is for our cause because were trying to show we cant get people in here. The president Union President said he did not tell recruits to quit but he did inform them of police benefits. The union is calling for an independent investigation and mayor reed is also asking the city county to appoint a special investigator to look into the comments reportedly made by unland. Now, this allegation also comes during a very heated mayoral campaign. Im looking at some of the drive times between the grantline road and the 680 interchange, thats a 40minute drive time. Your speeds are down to 25 to 30 miles an hour. Three teenaged girls from colorado are now back with their parents after they were detained at an airport in germany. Reportedly on their way to syria to join Islamic State militants. The girls are reportedly 15 and 17yearold sisters from somalia and another 16yearold girl from sudan. The three were reported missing by their families last friday. A search of their computers indicated they had been in contact with People Associated with isis in syria. All of the indications that we have from the sources were working with is they were most likely victims of online predators. The school says the girls were Good Students with no history of problems. Theyve been interviewed by fbi agents who are investigating the contacts the girls had with isis. A boil water order, still in effect this morning for a neighborhood in North San Jose. People in a threeblock area near the milpitas border have been washed not to drink their washed warned not to drink their water. Many others are wondering why didnt they get this water warning sooner. The San Jose Water Company notified people in the sidney drive neighborhood late friday night. But ktvu news has learned the utility found out about the contamination three days earlier. For a period of 48 to 7 hours, people 72 hours people were delivered bacteria impacted water. The San Jose Water Company says they are considering changing their notification policy. In the meantime, they are hoping to restore regular Water Service either tomorrow or saturday. Happening today, workers at Napa State Hospital will gather for a memorial to mark a sad anniversary. Four years ago, a patient killed psychiatric technician donna gross in the courtyard of the mental hospital. The patient later pleaded no contest to firstdegree murder and was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. Federal agents in kansas city seized thousands of dollars in countrier fit world series tickets. Homeland security agents seized more than 125 phony tickets. Had a street value of 45,000. Games 4 and 5 are saturday and sunday. A new ethics complaint is claiming that big Soda Companies are bank rolling a campaign to defeat a soda tax measure in San Francisco. The San Francisco chronicle reports supporters of prop e have filed an ethics complaint against the no on e campaign. This is alleging the campaign is being paid for by coke and pepsi through the american bev ridge association. That measure on the November Ballot would impose a 2 cents per ounce tax on sugary drinks in San Francisco. Berkeley also has a soda tax measure on the ballot as well. San francisco voters will also decide between two competing ballot measures on november 4th. They involve the turf and athletic fields near ocean beach. Prop 8 would require San Francisco to keep National Grass on all athletic fields in Golden Gate Park west of crossover drive. Opponents of the measure came up with prop i. It would change the park code so that athletic fields, childrens playgrounds, even walking trails can be upgraded. 8 08. Netting taunting a Police Officer. Reporter i just spoke with a Police Officer who said this officer was following a pack of about 50 bikers for about ten minutes and he had to make a decision on whether to keep pursuing these bikers based on safety. Here is a video that was posted on youtube. It shows a pack of bikers, doing wheelies and standing on their seats on 680 from coming from milpitas and passing the expressway heading into san jose. The video shot on a helmet camera shows the chp officer in the right lane trying to pull over some of the bikers but they ignore his siren and refuse to stop. They continue to do stunts and at a certain point, the biker shooting the video pulled up to the officer who tries to talk to him but no one pulls over. Eventually the officer rides away and the bikers wave goodbye. We show the clip to people this morning to get their thoughts. One of these days they are probably gonna kill somebody on the road. I see them all of the time. They do this all of the time. Its i know its just that little 1 of the riders out there doing it. Like anything else, they ruin it for everybody. Reporter video shows the group raising their fists after the officers leaves almost to show they were victorious not getting tickets and being able to outpower the officer. The chp says what the video doesnt show is the officer pulling over and calling for backup. He was attempting to get Additional Units into position to assist him. He determined without backup, the situation was unsafe for him both from an officers safety point of view as well as a motorist point of view. Potential for him to be hurt. Potential for additional members of the public who were traveling on the road to be hurt or the riders themselves. Reporter the chp says another officer did arrive, but by that time the bikers had exited and they decided it was safer for the public not to pursue those bikers and cause more danger to other drivers on the road. The national Highway Traffic Safety Administration points to ten carmakers that used air bags made by the tekata company in tokyo, including gm, honda and toyota. Those air bags can possibly spray passengers with pieces of metal when they are deployed. Right now, 7. 8 million cars are being recalled. Officials say car owners should act immediately to replace defective air bag, especially people who live in a humid climate. The recall affects many different makes and specific model years. Now, the latest chapter in this controversy involves a letter published in the San Jose Mercury news by a Police Department recruit who says the Union President , jim unland, encouraged recruits to drop out. In the letter erk the recruit says unland told him the more recruits we get, the worse it is for the cause because were trying to show we cant get people to work for the San Jose Police department. The Police Union President said he did not tell recruits to quit but he did inform them of police benefit. The allegation comes during a heated mayoral campaign. Unionbacked county supervisor dave cortese is running against liccardo whose platform include maintaining the current pension plan.
