It was flying up the coast. We had 90s inland. That will not be the case today. The front is weakening but it will give us cloudy skies. 50s and 60s on the temperatures. Santa rosa is at 60 degrees. Usually they are the one of the cool locations. Thats not the case right now. 50, even in alamo. Mid50s la fayette. Pittsburg is still sleeping. Somebody wake up the observer out there. Fairfield west at 15. Concord has a south wind. Most of these should start to turn southerly because the system is moving in. It will give rain to you folks in the north. Cobb 41 degrees. Today will be cooler with 70s inland. 60s by the coast. And a lot of low clouds. Heres sal. We continue to follow developing news in vallejo where an overturned truck is causing a big mess for drivers on westbound interstate 880. Brian flores is at the scene. Brian, i see some activity in the background. Are they moving that truck . Reporter yeah, they are moving that truck, sal. Thats good news for commuters this morning. Its been bad news for most of the morning. Im gonna step aside. Were standing along eastbound side 80 but the accident happened on the other side. Tow truck crews are moving this box truck to the side so they can open up more lanes. In the past 30 seconds, it looks like theyve opened up another lane. Possibly two or three lanes opened up this morning. Good news for commuters. As we take a look at newschopper2, which is also above the scene, traffic, that residual traffic will be like this for quite sometimes quite sometime. Take southbound 680 from the cordelia area if this is your normal route. From what we understand this was a box truck that was contracted out to mail service Something Like fedex. Its still unclear how the driver lost control and the box truck ended up on the side. Its still unclear how the driver is doing this morning. But it certainly caused major headaches on westbound 80 this morning. Traffic backed up from vallejo all the way up to fairfield the fair fairfield. Theyve moved the truck to the side. The plan is to put the truck on a flat bed. As we take a look at traffic, it looks like more lanes are opening up. Thats good news for commuters. But westbound 80 big headache for several commuters want to go back to sal. Theres another accident to talk about on eastbound 80. Thats right. We have a lot of slow traffic. You mentioned the slow traffic. Newschopper2 is showing us that on 80 westbound as you drive through. You can see that backup that stretches into fairfield on 80 westbound as you drive down to where brian is, westbound 80 near highway 37 even if they were to open the lanes right now, well have a long time for this backup to unwind getting through the area. Brian mentioned a fatal accident. This is a deadly crash on westbound 780 to 80 ramp in vallejo. This crash happened about an hour and a half ago. One person was killed when they were hit by a vehicle in the area. Thats now causing a big delay. I think a lot of people are stuck up the road. I also want to mention that the bay bridge toll plaza is going to be busy this morning. Traffic is backed up all the way out to the macarthur maze. There is a giants game. There will be a lot of people. 680, a new crash, southbound. This is 880 near the coliseum. If we could put the map up for a second. We have a brandnew injury accident southbound 680 on the sunol grade and traffic is just a mess. 7 06. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. In a few minutes, passengers on an American Airlines flight that made an Emergency Landing at sfo yesterday will take off on a new flight to dallas. The passengers experienced pretty tense moments in the sky when the plane started to come apart. Alex savidge is live now with more on what people on that plane heard and saw. Good morning, alex. Reporter good morning to you. It was a surreal experience for one woman i talked to this morning who watched the cabin wall panels next to her seat begin to split apart. This happened shortly after takeoff. This was an American Airlines flight that had just left sfo, headed for dallas yesterday. Joan denny told me that she thought maybe this plane was gonna come apart somehow. She and other passengers heard a loud popping sound near aisle 14. Heres video taken by a passenger who was on board the plane. It shows crew members as they came in to inspect a hole in the cabin wall that tore open midflight. Airline representatives say it was a broken air duct that caused the wall panels to come apart and the captain himself came back to take a look. He assured passengers, the damage was cosmetic. The plane never the lost cabin pressure but a halfhour into the flight, an emergency was declared and the plane returned to sfo where it landed safely. One passenger described the damage. We heard these popping noises. I thought something is moving around in the overhead. The next thing i knew, the wall looked like it separated from the wall. You think i dont think were gonna make it. Its very scary. Really weird. Reporter there were some on board the flight who thought that the plane kept going way too long. They felt they had to convince the crew that this was a serious enough issue to turn around and land. This boeing 757 was taken out of service and because there were no replacement planes yesterday passengers were put up at hotels for the night and many of them are getting on a flight that leaves for dallas shortly. Airline representatives are adamant that plane never lost cabin pressure during that entire situation. A lot of the passengers on board were glad that the plane returned to sfo. New this morning, a crash between a jeep and a taxicab in San Francisco early this morning sent three people to the hospital and one to jail. Police say around 3 30 this morning, the driver of a jeep ran a red light and broadsided a taxicab at octavia and oak street. Three people were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay. One person in the jeep ran away from the scene. Another person in the jeep was taken into custody. It came out. Everything okay. I see the guy. Happened to know the cabdriver. We called 911 and then police and everybody start coming in and i saw the guy, one black male about 30 to 40 year old running that way. Police are now looking into whether the jeep was stolen and if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. They also want to find out if the crash was connected to in if he way to a burglar in any way to a Burglar Alarm that went off not far from the scene. Police in campbell this morning are hoping a new sketch will help track down a man who exposed himself to a woman inside a grocery store. Now, take a look at it. The sketch shows a man with a with shaggy hair and a beard. Police say he flashed a woman inside the safeway on west hamilton avenue near marathon drive. Police in belmont and palo alto are searching for a man who exposed himself but the description is different. This man is described as clean shaven. The latest incident was outside of petes coffee on el camino real. A proposed new federal law calls for five years in prison for people who are caught climbing Prominent National landmarks by the Golden Gate Bridge. Charles schumer proposed this new law after recent incidents on the brooklyn bridge, including a russian tourist, and two german artists who replaced american flags on the bridge with white flags. Senator schumer says because of terrorism concerns at National Landmarks trespassers have to be discouraged. In december, state lawmakers will hear a proposal to rename a bay area landmark in hopper of Robin Williams. The wall toe tunnel the waldo tunnel on highway 101 in marin county, thats where Robin Williamsive willed for many years. It connects to San Francisco where he started his comedy career. Supporters say the rainbows over the tunnel are like the colorful suspenders he wore on mork and mindy. Robin williams, as you know, died at his home in tiburon last august. 7 11. Youve probably heard the expression, money does not grow on trees but in minnesota that expression almost seemed like a reality. A deputy found nearly 3,000 in 100 bills blowing in the wind. She thought it was leaves. I was quite surprised. I spoke to her briefly this afternoon. Its one of those calls that you will always remember. Its not typical. Its a bit odd. Along with the money, the deputy also found a withdrawal slip from a local bank. It turns out a customer withdrew the money at a credit union 5 miles away to pay for some work on his car. He accidentally left the money and the wallet on his trunk and drove off causing it all to just blow away. Thats not funny but its like wow. Wow. And the fact he was able to get it back. Get it back. The court clerks held a oneday strike last month. Now, the workers plan to shut down all three superior court houses in the city. The union says the court has violated state labor law by negotiating a new contract in bad faith. The San Francisco court has had years of budget cuts that have closed courtrooms and reduced the number of hours those courts are open. The clerks are saying the court has 16 million in a reserve fund but they are refusing to offer them a raise. Well keep an eye on that. Its been almost a year since the Sonoma County sheriffs deputy shot and killed 13yearold andy lopez. The teenager was holding a bb gun at the time of that deadly shooting in santa rosa. Deputy eric gelhaus thought it was an Assault Rifle. That shooting has prompted a series of angry protests in the santa rosa area over the past year. This approaching anniversary has Community Members there demanding more oversight of local police agencies. The Community Must have and deserves to play a Critical Role in the formlation of policies, funding and oversight. We have to believe in the people who are protecting us. We cant be afraid of them. Just three months ago, the District Attorneys Office said it would not file charges against the deputy. However, a special task force has asked the sheriff to rethink the decision to put him back out on street patrols. Happening today, president obama and his military commanders are meeting with defense chiefs from more than 20 countries who are joining in the fight against the Islamic State terror group. The day long strategy meeting comes as the white house says theres been progress in the u. S. Led campaign against isis. Military leaders from turkey are taking part in the meeting. The u. S. North korea state media has released new photos of kim jung un after speculation the status of him. But they have sent the bridge out on expedite to find this crash on the san mateo bridge and were gonna try to figure out exactly where it is. I just want to let you know thats going on. Traffic is busy. It is in the westbound direction, it will be worse. Lets take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza, its thats a 30minute delay getting into San Francisco. Southbound 101 in San Francisco is recovering after an earlier accident at the 80 split. That cleared up before we went to the report here. Westbound 80 is just a mess from fair fairfield to the vallejo area. They are moving that truck. They moved the news crews off the road as well. Traffic should start recovering. Its on its way. 50s and 60s on the temperatures. Some of these are pretty close. Some are cooler. If you get any break in the clouds, you are probably on the cooler side. This will be a cooler breezy pattern for them. More so, if theres any rain it will be on wednesday morning and i doubt much falls. A lot of low clouds in place. Participants expected to run through clouds of colored powder. But runners left disappointed. Online complaints say most people did not get the dye packs, race ribs or the souvenir tshirts they paid for ahead of time. It was supposed to be 5k but it was just over a mile. An elderly driver has died after she lost control of her car, went up on the sidewalk and hit a Young Man Holding a bicycle. This happened in Pleasant Hill. The young man is in the hospital this morning with significant injuries to his lower body. The woman the female driver was also taken to the hospital where she died. The crash happened about 11 00 yesterday on contra costa boulevard near taylor boulevard. Police are looking into whether the driver suffered a medical emergency. 7 5. Were talking about that 7 25. And this is because theres a rescue operation underway right now to find a woman whose car went off an embankment yesterday afternoon. High higher clouds are increasing slowly. The low clouds are underneath that. They are not extensive but they are making a decent push. It all spells a cooler pattern for a while. Any rain will be light. It will be in the north bay this evening. And drizzle for us late tonight, tomorrow. Just waiting for the breeze to pick up. Its on its way. Multiple layers of clouds. Cooler forecast is the main message. Could be drizzle or light rain to the north later on today. But for us instead of the 80s and 90s its 70s. We have quite a bit of activity on the road. Its pretty crowded everywhere you look. A lot of slow traffic getting up into the valley. Thats also a 25 to 30minute delay getting into San Francisco. Theres a giants game today. You didnt know that, well, its gonna be a playoff game today at 1 00 and that means a lot of people in the city also we have dream force going on. It will be a bad day to drive in the city quite frankly. You might want to think about using public transportation. 80 westbound still recovering from the truck accident from fairfield to vallejo. A rescue operation is underway right now. You are looking at Mount Hamilton in Santa Clara County. Firefighters there are trying to find a woman who drove off a ravine yesterday afternoon. They have a helicopter overhead to help look for her. Janine de la vega joins us now live from the scene to give us an update. Goops, janine. Reporter were right below Mount Hamilton road. We want to take you up to the crash scene. A car went oef over this over this embankment. Were told shes 28 years old. Shes from campbell and has been stuck there overnight. They brought in a coast guard helicopter. I would say two minutes ago we saw a rope come down from the helicopter, a medic was climbing down that rope rappelling down and right now hes with that victim and they are trying to figure out, you know, how to treat her down there. Were told that shes gonna be then hoisted back up and then taken to a hospital. Now, she drove over this embankment were told by authorities sometime yesterday afternoon, possibly around 3 00. Were told that her car was overturned and it was the system inside her car that alerted authorities but deputies got information that she was in the area of highway 17 and camden near campbell. They searched in the area, couldnt find anything. Then her mother contacted authorities and they used a cell phone app and they found her cell phone was in the area of Mount Hamilton road and alum rock park. Overnight we were told that santa clara sheriffs deputies were searching and that she was finally located here off Mount Hamilton road right where it splits off onto clayton road, about a mile and a half from there. Again, car overturned and she has been out of her car. Were told she has major injuries. So again, that is why the coast guard helicopter is here. We have not seen her yet, been put on the gurney and hoisted into a basket back up into the helicopter. Were all waiting for that to happen. Im told by the california Highway Patrol again another agency that is assisting with this since this is a crash scene that she is conscious. She has been talking. Were told that sheriffs deputies as well as fire personnel, were not sure if they hiked down there or rappelled but they were with her monitoring her, not sure what kind of injuries she has. But we are told that it is major. But again, probably a rough night for her since shes been stuck in that ravine overnight. So were gonna continue to talk this. Well check back for an update soon. Thank you. 7 35. New this morning, San Francisco police are investigating a shooting at fishermans wharf. It happened around 3 00 on jeffson street right across from pier 45. Police say the shooting victim is a man. Hes being treated at San Francisco general root now. Were being told this is a large scream scene. Some streets may be closed off as Police Investigate. But so far no arrests have been made. Police are searching for a drive who hit and killed a woman in east san jose. It happened near mckee road and north 33rd street. When officers arrived, they found the woman lying in the road. She was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital. The speed limit where she was hit is 25 miles an hour but neighbors say drivers often speed. Investigators describe the hit andrun vehicle as a light colored suv. They say it left the scene traveling westbound on mckee road. 7 36. Happening today, boy, it is gonna be a busy day in San Francisco. Two huge events attracting pig crowds. Youve got the big crowds. There was a powerful earthquake this morning in Central America killing at least one person and causing a lot of damage. It was a magnitude 7. 34 quake. It was underwater about 43 miles off the coast of el salvador. Here is a look at the damage. Crews responded to 12 collapsed hopes. A hospital also homes. A hospital received minor damage. Officials say a woman was killed when a pole fell on her. A new study shows that several Northern California faults are due for major quakes. Researchers say four fault segments in the bay area have built up enough tension to create a magnitude a quake of magnitude 6. 8 or higher. They are the green valley fault between napa and fairfield, the northern calaveras fault, the hayward fault and the rogers creek fault in Sonoma County. 7 40. New developments in the ebola crisis. This morning, the World Health Organization says in two months, there could be as many as 10,000 new cases of ebola a week. A man in dan sis kansas is the latest to be monitored. Hospital Officials Say the man had been working as a medical officer on a he commercial vessel off africas west coast. Hes still in isolation this morning. Were also finding out more about the nurse who contracted ebola of a caring for an ebola patient in dallas who later died. 26yearold nina pham was among 70 Staff Members caring for thomas duncan. All of them were wearing protective gear but somehow miss pham got the illness. Shes been given a blood transfusion. It was donated by a doctor who beat ebola. The doctors are monitoring all of the other Staff Members for possible symptoms. And United Nations medical worker infected with liberia has died at a hospital in germany. The 56yearold man died this morning despite undergoing very intensive medical procedures. 7 41. Federal Health Officials are now reviewing patient treatment practices and yesterday, a patient triggered marin general hospitals ebola protocols. The patient had been traveling overseas and came back with a fever after being put in an isolation room. It was determined the patient was not a ebola risk. They have enough gear to comply with cdc recommendations but many nurses say they are still not prepared. Each and every day we put our lives on the line. Part of the fear amongst the nurses and other workers is the lack of protocol, a lack of equipment, and a lot of training and education. Nurses say their biggest concern is being trained on how to properly put on the protective gear and take it off. The cdc is also now looking into whether more decontamination steps are necessary when Health Workers leave ice hation units isolation units. The bus driver facing dui charges. Authorities say she was under the influence of prescription drugs while driving a bus with 67 Elementary School kids on it. This happened on a busy stretch of highway. Now, after several 911 calls, troopers were able to pull that bus over. Could have been disastrous. We could have had a whole bunch of kids hurt. Were lucky. Troopers say the driver failed a field sobriety test and in her purse, they found four bottles of prescribed drugs. She had been with the district for six years. Back to the desk. Were hearing more first hand accounts this morning from passengers on that American Airlines plane that made an Emergency Landing yesterday shortly after taking off from sfo. Ktvus alex savidge is joining us live. You can tell us what people saw and heard as the walls of the cabin started to come apart. Reporter good morning to you. One woman i talked to who was on that plane said she was in disbelief as she watched the wall panels begin to split next to her seat. It happened after that plane took off from sfo headed for dallas yesterday. Of course, this was all going on and many passengers panicked. Some worried that the plane was coming apart. Heres video taken on board the plane. It shows crew members inspecting a hole in the cabin wall that tore open midflight. They say it was a broken air duct that caused the problems. Passengers heard a popping sound on both sides of aisle 14. Eventually the captain came back to take a look. He reassured passengers that the damage was purely cosmetic and cabin pressure was normal. About a halfhour into the flight, an emergency was declared. The plane returned to sfo where it landed safely. All in all a nerveracking experience for many on board. It was scary. I always say a prayer when im taking off. I always fly southwest. This was american. Im getting back on and trying to get home. There were, however, some people on board the flight who criticized the crews response. We talked with one man who thought the flight kept going way too long. He felt as though some passengers had to convince the crew that the issue was serious enough to turn around and land. The boeing 757 was taken out of service. Because there were no replacement planes yesterday, passengers had to be put up at hotels for the night. Many headed out for a flight to dallas. A coast guard helicopter crew was trying to rescue a 28year old woman who drove off a cliff yesterday afternoon. Shes believed to have suffered serious injuries when her car plunkinged into a ravine. The emergency crews tracked the woman through her satellite system after confusion about her whereabouts. It looks like a rescuer being dropped down into the location. Ktvus janine de la vega is monitoring the situation and she will have a live update for us at 8 30. Also new this morning, a crash between a jeep and a taxicab in San Francisco early this morning sent three people to the hospital and one to jail. Police say around 3 30 this morning, the driver of a jeep ran a red light and broadsided a taxicab. This is at octavia and oak streets. Three people were taken to the hospital. They are all expected to be okay. One person in the jeep ran away from the scene. Another person in the jeep was taken into custody. Came out and i said are you okay . Everything okay . I see the by. Happen to know the cab driver. We called the 911 and police and everyone start coming in. I saw the guy, one one black male about 30, 40 years old running that way. Kind of scared of the situation. Police are now looking into whether the jeep was stolen and if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. They also want to find out if the crash was connected in any way to a Burglar Alarm that went off right before the crash, not far from the scene. 8 0 a. New this morning, the union this represents San Francisco Court Workers says they are on strike this morning. Last month, the court clerks held a oneday strike. Now the workers plan to shut down all three spror courthouses in the city. The union says the court has violated state labor law by negotiating a new contract in bad faith. The San Francisco court has had years of budget cuts that have closed courtrooms and reduced the number of hours that courts are open. These clerks say the court has 16 million in in a reserve fund but are refusing to offer them a raise. Police in campbell hope a new sketch will help track down a man who exposed himself to a woman inside a grease grocery store. Here is the sketch showing the man with shaggy hair and a beard. He flashed the woman at the safe way. Police in belmont are searching for a man who exposed himself but the description is different. Now, this man described as cleanshaven. The latest incident was outside of petes coffee on el ka El Camino El Camino real. A new law calls for a prison sphens up to five years sentence up to five years for people caught climbing landmarks. People at an assisted living complex in berkeley are protesting what they call poor treatment by the property managers. The Redwood Gardens Apartments they are subsidized by the government. Well, this coming december state lawmakers will hear a proposal to rename a bay area landmark in honor of the late actor Robin Williams. Supporters say the rainbows over that tunnel are just like the colorful suspenders Robin Williams wore on mork and mindy. He died at his home in tiburon last august. It wont be as nice as the past couple of days. There will be changes in the form of a few high clouds. This system is falling apart. But it will give light rain to the north. Mendocino county, lake county. I doubt except drizzle late tonight and tomorrow. 50s and 60s the big message and well get some rain. But its the cooler pattern. Weve been telling you all morning happening right now, a rescue operation is happening as we speak on Mount Hamilton. An emergency crew trying to help a 28yearold woman who drove off a cliff yesterday afternoon. Shes been there since. Janine de la vega is there now and you are talking to a chp officer. What are they telling you, janine . Snrgets well, right now in the reporter well, right now they are in the middle of the operation. Behind me you can see the coast guard helicopter. Its there. Its waiting to bring this woman that were told is from campbell. Shes 28 years old. Shes been stuck here overnight. Now, i do want to show you the ravine that her car went down. This is a very steep embankment. Right now, you can see there are firefighters with her from calfire. Were also told that there mighten chp officers down there as well. And they have been cutting a path to try to bring her up here. At one point, we thought it would be too windy for the helicopter to land. But just to get more information about this rescue operation, we go to officer rasmussen with the california Highway Patrol. Whats happening right now . Whats happening is right now, the coast guard is trying to determine whether or not they can hoist the driver out of there. Thats our original plan. If that doesnt work, they are set up to hoist her up the hill and have the helicopter take her from the top of the hill. Reporter rate now, is this a challenge right now this is a challenge pause because of the wind . The wind has picked up and the terrain is giving them a hard time. They had to cut a path down the hill for the rescue crews in case they have to drag her up or bring her up the hill. Reporter were told the woman has major injuries but is conscious and breathing. The only thing i any shes alert. Shes awake i no he shes alert, shes awake i know shes alert and awake. We dont know the extent of her injuries until we get her up here. Reporter from what we can see this dramatic scene, i would say about an hour ago, a rope did drop and medic came down and was was left down there and he was assessing her along with all of the other emergency personnel. Again, we havent seen them go back up and get and get saved by the helicopter. They are trying to determine what to do. I just want to go back to how this all started. This all started yesterday afternoon. Were told the woman was driving on the road and the car went over the embankment. It turned upside down. The system in her car, thats what alerted authorities. However, authorities were alerted she was in the area in campbell. They went to the area, didnt find anything. This womans mother contacted authorities, filed a missing persons report and they were able to locate and ping her cell phone and it was prout to the area of brought to the area of Mount Hamilton road. It was a sheriffs deputy we heard that actually found her. This is a crazy story. Have you ever heard of anything like this . This is pretty crazy. Ive heard of good rescues or crashes where weve had them down embankments but this is a pretty good one. Reporter okay. Thank you. And i dont know if you can tell at all whats going on right now. Right now, what it looks like is the coast guard is still trying to test whether or not he can hold the helicopter in place while they try and hoist the basket up or they are gonna have to come up the hill with her. Reporter did the chp officers hike down there . We have two officers down there ahong with two sheriff along with two Sheriff Deputies down there when we first came here. We have four officers town there right now. Reporter okay. And she will be taken, then, to a hospital as soon as this happens and we know that there were no other passengers with her, right . Right. Appears to be solo. We havent gotten any word that theres anyone else. We checked the area. Havent found anybody else. We just have a solo driver as it is now. Reporter we cant see the vehicle overturned from our vantage point. Again, just the chp helicopter and fire personnel. Chp officers down there. Were gonna stay on this. Well, the ebola virus is proving to be even more deadly. This morning, the World Health Organization said the death rate of the people who have developed ebola in the current outbreak has gone up to 70 . That announcement comes as federal Health Officials are now reviewing patient treatment practices and yesterday, a patient triggered marin general hospitals protocols. The patient had been traveling overseas and came back with a feesher. It was fever. It was determined he was not a rick. The hospital says they have enough gear to comply with cdc recommendations but many nurses say they are still not prepared. Each and every day we put our lives on the line. Part of the fear i think among the nurses and other healthcare workers is the lack of protocol, a lack of equipment and a lot of training and education. Nurses say the biggest concern is being trained on how to properly put on the gear and also properly take it off. The cdc is also looking into whether more decontamination steps are necessary when hegg workers leave isolation units. New this morning were learning that Mark Zuckerberg and his wife are donating 25 million to the u. S. Centers for Disease Control to help fight the ebola epidemic. They just rescued the woman trapped on Mount Hamilton in Santa Clara County. This is brandnew video. You are seeing it as i am. It was taken moments ago. The 28yearold woman being pulled into a coast guard helicopter rescued. Now, her car drove off a cliff yesterday afternoon. She drove off. Its believed she has serious injuries. Her car plunged about 500 feet down a ravine. But shes alert. Shes breathing. And is being hoisted in that coast guard helicopter. Well have much more on the ktvu news at noon. Passengers on an American Airlines flight that made an Emergency Landing yesterday at sfo, well, they are finally headed to dallas tax. Yesterday, their plane was forced to turn around and land. Passengers say that wall inside the plane started to come apart. Luckily no one was hurt. The union hing San Francisco Court Workers say they are on strike this morning. The court clerks held a oneday strike. The workers plan to shut down all three superior court houses in the city today. And all lanes of interstate 880 in vallejo are back open again 80 in vallejo are back open again. That overturned truck has been uprighted. San Francisco Police are investigating a shooting at fishermans wharf. It happened around 3 00 this morning on jefferson street right across from pier 45. Police say the shooting victim is a man. All right. 8 53. Police searching for a driver who hit and killed a woman in east san jose. It happened last night about 8 00 near mckee road and north 33rd street. When the police arrived, they found the woman in the road. She was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital. Now, the speed limit where she was hit, its 5 miles an hour but neighbors say the driver 25 miles an hour but neighbors see drivers go much adrivers go much faster. The vehicle left the scene going westbound on mckee road. A new class of San Jose Police recrews starts training. Only 23 recruits are expected to show up this morning. Thats less than half the capacity. That small class is a reflection of the growing staffing problem for the San Jose Police department. Since 2008, the size of the department has shrunk from 1400 to about 1,000. Its all because of a battles between the police, the union and the city over pay, pension and disability benefits. 8 54.
