An Early Morning fire caused frantic moments in a twin peaks neighborhood of San Francisco. We are looking at live pictures there as firefighters were not only working on that and cleaning up some of the mess this morning. Low clouds are there. Absolutely, theres a lot. And temperatures on the mild side, 50s and 60s. In fact, 59 in concord. And i fixed this graphic. If you were still sleeping two hours ago, it said 140. Man, its hot this morning. And now its cooled off. Looking at a 16, 25 Miles Per Hour, still a westerly breeze for many. Fog, sun, mild to warm, morning overcast, breezy at times. And afternoon temperatures though about where they were the last couple day, 80s to 90s inland. And steve, we do have traffic that has been very slow this morning on 80 westbound. Thats because of an earlier crash on 80 right at the 580 interchange along the east shore freeway. And you can see that traffic has been, well, they have opened up the lanes finally. But they were closed and now we have about an hour delay at the bridge and the maze. One hour. Thats a longtime. And it had been so nice. But please, give yourself extra time. And on the map, just how bad the freeway is, westbound 80 backed up. Mostly through all of richmond, getting down to berkeley is going to be one long line of stop and go traffic. And the toll plaza is empty. And its because a lot of people are stuck in the back up. And 580 traffic is lighter. 880 and the bridge, that area, that traffic seems lighter. So the 580 freeway, even thats better than usual. So the 80 backup that we show you had is standing out as the worst traffic in the area right now. Anyway, happy friday. And the people writing me saying, whats going on with the rain . I dont see a thing. Deep area of low pressure will develop in the middle of the country. And High Pressure here. Thats been the pattern for eight months and looks like it will be nine months. I look as far as i can and i dont see anything. Its early. Its early. We have a long way to go. 50s and 60s the water temperatures are warm. Nothing to do with el nino and everything to do with the south wind. And no breeze. And the forecast is for a week el nino this year into early next year. And that does not scream rain. But we will see. Nature has turned earlier than usual. Things turn fast once you hit september. Theres a lot of low clouds in place. And the hurricane moving right along the coast. And does not look like too much is going to impact. Most of the stronger winds are offshore. But its going to go up the coast. The key then is what happens to the moisture when it runs into the colder air. Theres change in wind direction and that helps from it intensifying. And one mod sell strong on rain for san diego and into the Desert Southwest or palm springs. And the other two take it farther to the east. And thats probably going to be right. But this is the time of year when we can get, this is the window for tropical moisture, is the best opportunity. But doesnt look like it. But we have a lot of fog. And theres a bigger fog bank today than all week long. Fog, sun, its muggy warm but if you notice, the days are getting shorter and the temperatures, even if they warm up, they drop off fast here. 70s, 80s and 90s. Clear lake still warm at 94. And 95 to 98 almost every day but the nights are getting longer so that cools things down. I agree with that. Brentwood 91. In between, a lot of 80s including walnut creek at 84. And half moon bay, 68. Even with the fog and the water temperatures, they get a south breeze so on the mild side. And i dont see much changes here. Maybe high clouds next week. A hint of a warmup after wednesday but theres a long way off. Thank you. If youre driving in San Francisco, be ware. In the next hour, what San Francisco police are really looking out for.
