Wow. All right, tc. You stay up for the giants game last night well, the giants may file a protest with Major League Baseball after last nights four and a half hour rain delay in chicago. It led to a giants loss. The game with the cubs was stopped in the 5th inning. It just started pouring out there. The ground crew couldnt roll the tarp all the way out to properly cover the infield and after it stopped raining, they tried to put out bags of dirt and used leaf blowers to fix the mess. But the umpire finally said the field was unplayable. The cubs were leading at the time, 20. So the cubs got the win. Bruce bochy is not happy. Yeah. Apparently might try to contest that. Yes. 7 49. But find out why popular brands are being yanked off store shelves. A deadly accident on 880 in hayward, what happened within the past hour. A crash that was not with serious injuries but seriously damaged the commute upon 237. Still terrible getting over to sunnyvale. Well tell you what happened. Big fog bank out there. Big, in fact. But temperatures are running mild. Mid 6s for some. Even though the fog is here, its not cold. Inland temperatures will be below average. Well show you that coming up. Well, good morning to you. Ktvus Tara Moriarty is live at the Hayward Police department where police have just taken over the investigation from the chp. Tara will join us in a couple of minutes with a new development that prompted that change. Stay tuned for those details. Good morning. Well comto mornings on 2. Wednesday, august 20th. Im dave clark. Im tori campbell. Quick look at weather and traffic. Steve, gonna be a nice day. Some clouds in the morning. Clouds and sunny. Chelsey sent me a message on facebook saying i havent mentioned the weather along the embarcadero. I do my best. It will be cloudy. Its cloudy now. Well go for a high of 70. Its 62 light now right now. Machine, breezy, mild. Were starting off 60s and end up with 60s and 70s. Warmer but a very quiet pattern. Low cloud deck. Theres plenty out there. The low that came zipping on by did not chew it up. Its visiting Southern California. Boy, is it ramping up appears to be pretty good thunderstorm activity in the high desert from san diego to las vegas. If you have travel plans there, keep that in mind. Mid60s. Only a couple of upper 50s. It looks like a record warm min temperature for San Francisco. Mid60 sea temperatures. Any thunderstorm activity should go south. Local drizzle, sunny inland after the low cloud deck burns off. Low clouds, spent, 80s. 60s, 70s coast and bay. Heres sal. We still have a lot of slow traffic out there. Part of it is because of earlier problems. Like 237 westbound. Its improving a little bit. We had an injury accident about an hour ago, westbound 237 in sunnyvale. Thats been cleared but traffic is backed up way back into milpitas downtown. Passing 880 and continuing past here all the way to sunnyvale and it gets better when you get to highway 101. Lets go to the maps now. I want to show you the traffic on 80 westbound is busy as you drive through to the richmond freeway and then if you are driving on the east shore, you see a 26minute drive time coming through. No major issues. If you are driving on the 580 commute westbound, its very slow and then 880 southbound into fremont it will will continue to be slow as you head down to the south bay. 101 northbound is also slow coming up past 880 and into sunnyvale that way. And finally, the bay bridge is backed up for about a 25 to 30 minute delay. This was the scene on 880ny ward about an hour ago as the chp cleared the scene of a possible homicide. They say a pedestrian was hit and killed near industrial parkway. We have been following this developing news since it was first reported around 5 1515 this morning. Ktvus Tara Moriarty is now at the Hayward Police station, where officers are investigating how the person killed ended up on the freeway. Reporter well, police are now saying that the man on the freeway overpass jumped. But why he jumped could determine whether or not this case is classified as a suicide or a homicide. We are being told that police are investigating it as a potential homicide. Now, all of this unfolded around 4 45 this morning. A man on the overpass at industrial boulevard over 880 southbound fell into traffic. A big rig driver struck him. He was instantly killed. Two lanes were shut down for about three hours. Officers say they do have a witness. They are looking into whether some sort of fight took place before the man jumped. Well, if he jumped because he was trying to evade someone who was trying to harm him, then you could have a potential homicide charge. We do not have an identity on the man yet. Police will keep us posted on the investigation. There is a homicideless encampment nearby but police wont say if its linked to this case. Live from hayward, Tara Moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. Thank you, there tara. Police in vallejo are investigating two suspicious deaths after the bodies of a man and woman were found on a boat. The boat was docked at the vallejo municipal harbor.
