It could be much worse. But you will be waiting for a while. When you get to the toll plaza, its a 45minute wait if you are at the end of the line before you make it across to the city side. But things are clearing up faster than i thought. Thats because its june. Southbound 880 if you are driving from 238 to fremont, thats also slow. San mateo bridge, moderate. About a 20minute drive across the bridge. Dumbarton bridge has a delay getting across. 25 minutes across that span as well. Lets go to steve. All right, sal. Thank you, sir. One of the reasons, the rising prices of gas, well above 4 a gallon in many places. You will be saving money in that aspect as well as saving the environment as well. As people are getting off at the caltrain station in San Francisco, many are fed up over the high gas prices. This National Event started in 2006 right after gas prices went over the 3 mark. Since then, the goal has been to highlight and promote Public Transportation as a great alternative to driving your karl. Several commuters arent just dumping the pump today. They do it every day because Public Transportation is convenient and also because gas prices, they say, are ridiculous. Its pretty crazy. I can remember back all the way in the first gas crisis in the 1970s and the prices were below a dollar then. So 5 is pretty shocking. But i try not to worry about it. I get to take the train every day. It would take about 45 in gas prices. Public transportation, i cut that in half. Reporter and he travels from fairfield to san jose every day. After almost three years of debate, construction will soon start in walnut creek on a controversial multimillion dollar development. Final approval for the orchards project came this week from the walnut creek city council. A Safeway Store will anchor the mixeduse center on ygnacio and oakgrove. Its expected to open by the end of next year. State lawmakers rejected a plan that could have cut down on the number of people evicted from their homes under San Franciscos controversial ellis act. The bill proposed by state senator mark leno of San Francisco requires landlords to own a building for at least five years before they could use the ellis act to evict tenants. The ellis act was intented to help owners who dont want to be in the rental business but leno says investors have been using it as a way to buy property, evict tenants and turn properties into condos. Leno has one week to make changes and put the bill to another vote. A bill expanding teacher tenure protections in california could be heading back to a senate committee. The proposal, which failed to go through yesterday, would give tenure to teachers in Small School Districts with less than 250 students after three years.
