It happened before 11 on princeton avenue. According to police, four young adults from South San Francisco had come to vallejo for a party it seemed everyone else pulled over to help. A gunman with a white suv and opened fire. 19yearold man was killed. And four others in were injured there are still a lot of questions about a nursing home that closed its doors and left patients at the site. The care home shut down on thursday. Yesterday, 14 people were evacuated. Allie rasmus is live with the investigation underway. Allie . Reporter behind us is the care home. They have sheriffs crime scene tape blocking off the entrance. They were out here yesterday evening, the owners could face abuse or neglect charges. The state shut down this business on sunday is. All but three employees left leaving 14 patients to fend for themselves for the next two days. Sheriffs investigators came yesterday when someone called 911. They were also taking a missing persons report. After one person left the facility and didnt come back. They knew something was wrong. During the time that staff realized something was amiss. They started he is he he is he he go question asen found everyone left on thursday. They were evacuated from the facility yesterday. Some of the family members came to gather up their belongings and move. They did get a letter from the care home saying that it would shut down. It took a couple of days to find a couple of days for the loved ones to stay. The conditions in the home were not great. Plumbing and cleanliness issues they say. Some staying here had physical and mental disabilities and some were without personal care and highway jean for two days. In the front door, they he posted a notice and said it is shut down. All 14 patients have been evacuated. We are working to find out on mornings on 2 later this morning, who exactly owns this facility and what the status is and their response to what happened. Live in Castro Valley. One Police Officer is in serious condition. The other officers that were hurt have been treated and released. The suspect. Sammy duran is being held on charges of attempted murder and breaking parole. One man who did not want to be identified and recently released from the same jail said he couldnt notice that he was acting strange. Like, he is in a trance, slumped over. Like he is hallucinating. According to the former inmate. He is not in the usual jail jump suit. They placed him in suicide clothes. And he is in a special blanket so he doesnt try to hurt himself. This is not the first time he has had a run in with the law. He has several convictions going back to more than a decade. Assault with a deadly weapon. Carjacking and Domestic Violence. This is the Community Care home in castra valley. The nursing home is closed for business is the sign on the door. That is closed since thursday. Thats when the Health Department pulled the license. The problem is just about all the people working here left 14 disabilitied and elderly patients to fend for them he have selves for two for themselves for two days. Someone called 911 for a lance and they were called to take a missing persons report. After one person left and didnt come back. They are still trying to determine if the crime of and puce or neglect was committed here when the patients were abandoned. We are trying to find out who owned the company. They arrived yesterday after someone in the building called 911. The Sheriffs Department was also called for a missing persons report. And one person left and didnt come back. They are trying to determine whether the crime of abuse or neglect was committed here. Only three employees stayed behind without pay to care for the remaining patients. He did commend them for that. Without knowing what kind of care they were receiving, they had to be transported to the hospitals to make sure they got checked out and we were told none of them were seriously injured. They went through the home gathering evidence for the investigation. The owner of this nursing home is a llc, called hmn enterprises. They have one in oakland and modesto. They have suspended the licenses of those facilities as well. If you look at the front door, it reads closed for business. The facility lost its license on thursday and shut down. The problem is, just about all the caregivers working here left that day. Leaving all 14 of the residents to fend for themselves. Someone in the building called 911 for an ambulance. The Sheriffs Department was contacted to take a missing persons report after they left the facility and didnt come back. The sheriffs Department Said the investigation is still going on and they are trying to determine whether the crime of abuse or neglect was committed her when they were abandoned.
