I want to give you a look at the scene, though, because in the last five minutes. Firefighters and Police Officers cleared the scene. You can see out in front of this home. Theres a pile of degree that the firefighters pulled from the garage. Thats the area where they believe this fire started. What the fire chief describes out here is nothing short of heartbreaking. Inside this home, four people were living. A mother, father, grandfather and 2yearold child. When firefighters got on the scene, they say the mother was outside screaming to them that her baby was inside. Firefighters got inside, but it did take them a few minutes because they had to cut through a security gate. Once inside, they found the father in the garage. He was down there because he was not feeling well and didnt want to get the rest of the family sick. The fire started there and then the upper floors filled with smoke and intense heat. The house had smoke detectors that were working. They may have woken up a little girl and a grandfather. Do you think she woke up . Probably. Probably woke up and was disoriented or heard noises and went in towards the bathroom. That was my question, too, but she was old enough to be able to walk. Wasnt in a crib. Probably between 2 and 4. You can see where they had to cut through it and use a metal saw. There was plate glass behind it. They said that has two locks on it. The garage door had the fire in it. They had to cut through that area to get in. It did take an extra three to five minutes to get inside the home and get to the people inside. This very difficult day for them as they try to figure out how this fire started. Really in most cases, they say they dont have fatal fires when they are working smoke detectors. Reporter good morning, tori. Yes. The sun is coming up. I didnt think this could get more impressive but the pictures are stunning. Let me give you and overview. This is the fire thats literally burning right next to interstate 505 north of winters. I want to focus on the smoke. Watch this smoke cloud. Its impressive as it continues to go through. The one thing you have to be concerned with is what it is doing for visibility on i505. If we can pan down to the flashing lights. What you will see, just about ten minutes ago, you could barely see those flashing lights because pat times, the smoke from this because at times, the smoke is lofting over the interstate and causes a slight visibility problem for those traveling northbound and southbound. We have updated information on whats going on. This is called the hay kingdom. What it is, is a hay processing plant. They say other people compress the hay down to tighter, smaller hay bales to be sent oversees. Whats on fire, ten acres worth of stored hay. We understand that not only have three structures been destroyed but also one of the two presses here that presses down the hay. That building has been destroyed. Firefighters remain on the south side of the fire because the wind is pushing the fire that way. They are trying to protect the other structures. But at this point in time, the Economic Loss at a very conservative estimate. 6million but 10 million, 20 million in a fire that could burn for several more days. Firefighters say theres no way they can put the hay bales out with water. So it will be several days before they get the fire put out. Back to you. Mike, i have a question for you. We have a director drove by and said he could feel the heat from the fire. Are they gonna keep the road open, 550, because its kind of surprising to see cars driving by so close . Reporter earlier when the winds were higher and thicker over the interstate, the highway was doing monitoring the traffic going through. The winds have died down. Smoke is not much of an issue. But from a lookyloo standpoint, you will feel it, you will definitely see it and for now theres no plans to close the interstate at this point in time, so, yes, you are gonna feel it driving by. Mike la sell drive in winters. Thank you. The giants have a reason to fear the beard. Did you see this .
