And right now they do have the man that had barricaded himself here in custody but they are now searching his home for firearms. There was a Huge Police Response when this call started at 7 00 last night. A woman was reportedly threatened by this man inside a home on 12th street and there were reports that he allegedly pointed a gun at her. She was able to leave the home but the man barricaded himself inside. Neighbors were evacuated because there was a lot of concern for their safety since the suspects had firearms. Firefighters in the south bay are trying to figure out what caused two buildings less than two miles apart to go up in flames. Both happened in san joses commercial district. The latest around 10 30 last night on fifth street. When firefighters arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames. About three hours earlier, just a few blocks away, there was another fire at a Welding School on commercial street. There were students inside at the time. They heard loud explosions and ran from the building and no one was hurt. Firefighters say that fire started in an area around the welding tank and an investigation is under way. There is a follow up to a story of unsanitary Living Conditions at an Oakland Hotel that we first uncovered. Oakland city inspectors plan to check the plumbing this morning on 13th street. Inspectors red tagged the building yesterday after the Drinking Water tested positive for bacteria commonly found in sewage. The tenants were bussed to a motel last night. 2 investigates has been to that hotel several times this year. They found leaks, they found signs of black mold and unfinished repairs. Im really grossed out by it. Ive been bathing and brushing my teeth with it. I even drink this water. We will shut the building down and red tag it. We will do a chlorination on the building. Lawyers for the hotel owners are doing everything they can to resolve the situation. They are putting the tenants up in motels and giving them per diems but the tenants wont be allowed back for some time. If you live in the east bay your water once again may taste and smell kind of strange. In march we first told you about a lot of the complaints that the tap water tasted bad in berkeley and oakland. So why is the taste of the water changing . Its the drought according to east bay mud and they say this sunday they will change the way they take water out of one of its reservoirs. Instead of old snow melt, the water agency will draw warmer water from the surface. That will probably make the tap water taste and smell different. Cal tran is warning drivers of potential gridlock because the sacramento bridge will be closed. Both directions of the sacramento bridge will completely shut down but lane closures will begin as early as 7 00 p. M. The bridge will not reopen until 5 00 monday morning. Cal trans is resurfacing the bridge and applying a special coating to the road. New questions are being raised about the longterm stability of the bay bridge. A steel rod that helps anchor the new tower of the bridge failed a key integrity test. The rod may have corroded when it was soaking in water. Cal tran says the bridge is safe but it plans to test the strength of the rod. Can we talk basketball now . San jose Police Released enhanced photos of a man that attacked a 13yearold girl inside her home. We want you to take a look. Police say the man followed that girl home from school on tuesday. He then forced his way into her house in san joses west valley. Those are pretty clear pictures of him. Inside home Surveillance Video shows the girl grabbing the girl and pushing her against the wall. The girl punched him. Police then left the house. Police believe the man has struck once before. He followed a 28yearold woman into the market in san jose earlier this month. The suspect is still at large and police are asking anyone who may recognize him to contact the San Jose Police department. Another pretty scary story. San rafael police are warning women who walk along the bay trail that there have been two sexual attacks on women who have been pushing strollers. Back near the new target store. Right along the water. One happened five months ago, the second three months ago. Officers just learned about the attacks after the victims told a health and Human Services employee who then informed police. Were approached by a hispanic male wearing all black. The male forced them down to the ground and sexually assaulted them. In one of the occasions the suspects grabbed the victim hand and policed it and placed it on a handgun that was in their waistband. Both victims were latino and were afraid to report the attacks because of fear of deportation. Officers are now patrolling that trail. People in the midwest are bracing for more storms as they recover from destructive tornadoes. The National WeatherService Received 50 reports of tornadoes in texas, oklahoma, kansas, and nebraska. At least 13 people were hurt whenll twister touched down in when a twister touched down in a mobile home park. And there is flooding across the midwest and heavy rain caused several rivers to surge over flood stage. Just complete shock. Last may 22yearold elliot roger killed six people and injured 14 others before killing himself in the College Community of isla vista. A man that worked at a childrens Science Center is accused of possessing child pornography. He was arrested wednesday. Deputies say they found several hundred images and videos of child porn on his personal computer and phone. Walden west camp has programs for students between kindergarten through the eighth grade. There is more fallout in the growing scandal over racist Text Messages between San Francisco police officers. District attorney George Gascon has appointed three retired judges to review 3,000 cases for possible officer biased. Now we speak with Mike Cabrisas he was arrested on a misdemeanor offense. The mother of the woman missing girls have been granted a restraining order against their father but Authorities Say they didnt stop hem from taking the kids earlier this week. There is a major search under way for nineyearold alyssa reep and her 11yearold sister kyra. The girls for taken tuesday afternoon by 45yearold everett dean reep. He showed up at their after School Program with an order from a Mendocino County judge ordering him temporary emergency custody but the judge was not aware of the restraining order and rescinded the temporary custody the next day. Unfortunately reep had already disappeared with the girls. Its a mothers worse nightmare. Just not knowing where your babies are and if they are safe. The girls mother says reep has been arrested twice before on felony charges. She says he often uses drugs and can become irrational and she sought the restraining order awhile back after he threatened coaches and spectators at a softball game. On wednesday night a state trooper in oregon pulled reep over along the highway and then let him go when reep said he was on his way to Washington State to visit his father and so dave this morning the search goes on for those two girls who Authorities Say were taken by their father. This is the same parking spot that zach wilson asked the city of oakland to paint in front of his apartment. The only problem weldon is not disabled. He forged his application for a disabled parking permit including a doctors signature. He did have a forged doctors signature. The doctor said that is not my signature. And hes not a patient of ours. Weldons arrest is the latest in the dmvs special Operation Blue zone. The parking is so limited in parts of the bay area dmv investigators say access to a blue parking zone could be like gold. This might be the craziest story you hear all day. He handed a note to a teller that read i need 150,000 right now, please. Still some low clouds around which is impressive considering temps are cool aloft. Temps inland are not that warm. But will goes our system. Now southern sacramento valley. Snow coming off the sierra. Mainly central sierra and heavy duty rain moving in toward san diego. But for us the Northern Edge of that means were under the cool air mass. Under clerisies. 40s for many. Low 40s. Mid 40s. Still a few 50s holding on. We will see temperatures cool off. There goes the low as it takes the turn. It will be a major weather maker.
