We are learning more information about the mother and child that were killed by an alleged drunk driver in livermore over the weekend. Ktvu fox 2 alex savidge is joining us live now. Police say the man involved in this crash the suspected drunk driver in this case had been at the livermore wine country festival on saturday just hours before the horrible crash at the this apartment complex. And this morning that man is free on bail. This is the scene behind us here. That is where the out of control car slammed into a mother and infant daughter leaving them both dead as they walked along a pathway here. A memorial has been set up at the scene of the crash. It happened saturday night just before 7 00. Heres a photo of the two victims from a go fund me page set up to raise money for their funeral. The San Francisco chronicle identifies them as 40yearold morales and her 14monthold daughter julie. The family was gathering for a confirmation party when the suspected drunk driver plowed into the apartment building. There were two other children injured during the crash. They were hit with degree. When i looked up pieces from the bumper, smoke flying everywhere. They took him out of the car. He couldnt really walk. Reporter investigators say that jones blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit and he was booked into jail immediately following the crash but he was able to post 350,000 bail and he was released. The united food and council wants to make sure there are strong Labor Protections and any ballot pressures that will be voted on. Nepals government is urging foreign rescue efforts to return home. Officials say major rescue work in kathmandu is now complete and that the remaining work can be handled by local workers. However, foreign aid volunteers are still welcome to help police in remote mountain areas which have been hard to reach. The death toll from last months quake stands close to 7,000 but yesterday three more survivors were pulled from the rubble in kathmandu. There are also reports that emergency supplies flown into nepal are being held up at the airport because of the countries strict customs rules. They also put Weight Restrictions on planes. Now here in the bay area a Castro Valley couple used social media to help collect relief supplies. Originally they only had one location where they collected the donations but so many people wanted to help that they expanded to more than 45 locations. There was no other relief going on. Over the weekend a group of volunteers transported hundreds of pounds of supplies to the earthquake victims in nepal. They hoped to distribute the goods to some of the villages where no other age has been reached. Safeway will not reopen its quake damage store in downtown napa. It was badly damaged last august. Its the only big Grocery Store in downtown napa. The workers at that safeway they have been reassigned to other stores. But the people who work in downtown napa say they relied on that store as a convenient place to get lunch. City leaders say they will work to find a replacement Grocery Store. The traffic going to the bay bridge which is down below let me just see if i can draw it out here. That is going to the bay bridge. That is not going to be effected. However, you will be caught in traffic on the east shore freeway getting there. Uber should classify its drivers as employees not independent contractor. This driver claims he deserves Workers Compensation which he would get if he was classified as an employee by uber. After being stabbed back in november he says he wasnt able to work until january. Uber has not paid any of his medical bills after the night of that attack. A bill that would allow undocumented immigrants in california to apply for medical it goes to a state Senate Appropriations committee for a vote today. Under the legislation more than a million lower paid undocumented workers would qualify for the States Health care program. Right now undocumented immigrants seeking medical treatment at Public Health clinics or for Serious Health issues they go to hospital emergency rooms. Now critics of the bill say it would put another burden on taxpayers who are already overwhelmed by the cost of illegal immigration. The chp says the driver was going 85 miles an hour when he slammed head on into a car filled with a family. The mother and two daughters were killed. The father was the only survivor. Police suspect the wrongway driver may have been under the influence. Now just moments before the crash he almost hit a chp patrol car. The car was approaching him and hit in the fast lane of northbound 505. He turned on all of his lights. He went to the right shoulder. Turned on all of his lights and hoped the car would see him and the car immediately went right past him. Less than two weeks ago four other people died at the hands of a wrongway driver along highway 50 in sacramento county. A Traffic Safety bill is heading for the state senate that would direct cal trans and the chp to conduct a study on the best way to reduce wrongway crashes. Police are searching for two suspects that ran away when their car crashed during a Wild Police Chase from San Francisco to oakland. Investigators say it started early yesterday morning when San Francisco police saw the suspects in an suv shoot at another car in the bay view district. The suv sped on to the freeway and took police on ischias over the bay bridge. That pursuit ended when the driver took the fruitvale end in oakland. Police say a third person was arrested and treated at a local hospital. It happened yesterday morning on hate street near slider. It took firefighters about an hour to control the flames. Everyone did make it off that bus safely. The bus is owned by big bus San Francisco tour company. No word on what caused that fire. Santa claire ram county officials could prove a plan that would provide millions of dollars in relief for Ambulance Company world metro. The board of supervisors would cut franchise fees. The plan would save the company 7 million over the next four years. The board of supervisors says it will seek new bids from other Ambulance Companies when the rural metro contract expires next year. Its good the crash at the maze was gone because it is going to be you know the traffic on 80 is going to be slow. We had allen turn the camera around. Nice work allen. Five relatives of the Boston Marathon bomber are expected to testify in court today. They arrived in boston on april 23rd. They have been under the protection of 16 fbi agents since their arrival. Last week prosecutors urged the judge to have them testify soon because of the expense of providing their security. The identities of the relatives have not been revealed.
