Claudine wong is live in corte madera to tell us how this fire is tied to a homeless camp. Reporter we will give you a better idea of the conditions that firefighters are dealing with. To my left you can see lights. Those are the fire trucks that are parked on a trail path between here. There is some water and the village. We will follow the fire lines in. The fire chief gave us permission to take you out here so you can see some of these conditions. This is all marsh land and all vegetation. The fire is five acres. But it stretches back through here. And you can see the big grasses. Now this is what they were dealing with. This is some of the concern this morning. These obviously have not burned. But if you take a look behind them as you walk all the way back through here. This is where the fire line starts. This is the five acres that burned over night starts and really pushes back. And you can see some of the grasses and this is what it looks like now. What the fire chief told me this morning is that thieves can really spark up through the the night and day. We have seen some smoldering this morning. We did see a few flames. I want to show you what this looks like. Firefighters got a call out here. They tell us this is an area that is common for homeless encampments. They had to escort six people out of here to make sure they got out of this area safely. They said also that there was a sweep of the area a little earlier by police to kind of clear out the ohm campments and they are looking into that as maybe some how connected to the start of this fire. Its still too early to say. The fire chief explained again about some of the concerns that they will be facing throughout the day. Its extremely dense. So the fire gets deep seeded down in there and it takes an awful lot of water. We use foam like stuff top help get down in there. We will have crews out here all day today. As soon as the sun comes up we will probably have more smoke pop up. Its very difficult to contain these fires. Reporter so at this point they are basically watching the area. They have the hose lines in and around the fire line making sure that nothing starts up again. But come back out here live. Because we have found a few hot spots. There is one you are look at right now. And then actually if we pan over to our left, i can actually see another area. I can see the orange glow. That is probably a little far for our cameras. This is a five acre fire that is starting to kind of kick up again out there. As you can see that orange glow. Firefighters tell us they will put foam on this and make sure nothing flairs up again. These kinds of grasses can really hours later sometimes even days later startup again. Live Claudine Wong ktvu channel 2 news. Thanks.
