Investigators still on the scene of a deadly officer involved shooting it involved two unarmed gunmen and off duty sheriffs deputy. Paul chambers is joining us. Reporter good morning. Police are still out here on the scene. We have been told by police and neighbors living in the area this has had its problems in the past. This is not the first time the store has been a scene of a robbery attack. Police were just out here earlier. The store was robbed eight days ago with a similar mo. And again it was an Armed Robbery at that time too. The same time of the evening. Reporter now this latest incident happened just after 10 30 last night. Two armed men who werent wearing a mask or something covering their face came inside the market here. According to police, there were two employees inside. One in the stock room and the other at the register. Plisses the gunman attempted to rob police say the gunman attempted to rob the store when he came in contact with a sheriffs deputy. I believe he was in the store before the suspect came in. And then they came in and attempted to rob the store. That is when the confrontation took place. Reporter police say the deputy fearing for his life and the lives of the two store employees shot and killed one suspect and possibly wounded the other. Police do not believe the would be robbers fired a single shot. Investigators are looking for that second suspect at area hospitals. They are checking to find out if anyone has been admitted for gunshot wounds. We will stay on top of this and bring you the latest as it develops. This morning the investigation continues. That happened near christine drive. They were forced to shoot and kill a 20yearold man after he charged at officers with several weapons in his hands. The deadly confrontation came after police pulled over the suspect following a brief chase. And exited the drivers side armed with objects in his hands which ended up being a hammer, a knife, and some other pry tool such as a nail puller. And aggressively came in the direction of the officers. The incident began when a homeowner reported someone acting suspiciously in a south vacaville neighborhood. Now this was vacavilles second Deadly Police shooting. On june 28th police shot and killed a Sacramento Man who tried to run over Police Officers on interstate 80. Investigators say the young man was suspected of stealing Television Sets from a nearby walmart. There are new concerns about the finances of the Ambulance Company that served Santa Clara County. Janine de la vega. Reporter mike, Financial Reports have been painting a negative picture in recent months of rural metro. The Ambulance Company missed a critical bond payment this week and that its cause for concern. Rural metro is the private Ambulance Company that Santa Clara County contracts with. According to the mercury news the county is trying to get a backup plan in place if rural metros financial situation deteriorates. The company emailed the paper. They are reporting rural metro has a 30 day window to make up the payment. Further fueling concerns in the spring. They downgraded the companys Credit Rating to junk. Earlier this year a Santa Clara County official warned them they were in breech of contract because they did not meet the required response times but the company has since improved. Rural metro has maintained it is committed to serving the countys residence. I reached out to rural Metro Management but i a still waiting for a response from them. The Police Chased a nissan when the car ran into the garage and landed upside down. He was later transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He was wanted in connection to a Domestic Violence case. The u. S. Coast guard came to the rescue of two people who decided to take a night swim in the San Francisco bay. Last night the coast guard station in San Francisco learned the two left aquatic park to swim to alcatraz. Rescue teams found the two swimmers near alcatraz a short time later. The Oakland City Council will debate a controversial proposal that would make it a misdemeanor to carry certain items during protests. Under the proposal, protestors would be banned from carrying things like spray paint, clubs, and hammers. It comes after a waiter was attacked with a hammer during a protest on monday night. A similar ban was proposed during the occupy protest last year but it was later dropped. Reaction to the new proposal is mixed. The only hammers that should be down here, are the ones that should be boarding up the businesses. You take away the hammer they will just pick up a chair. If they are aggressive, there is not much they can do. Counsel members will debate the issue during their next meeting on july 30th. Oakland police releasing more pictures to find people who vandalized the downtown area during protests against the George Zimmerman verdict on saturday. Take a look. One photo shows a man in a green shirt who appears to be trying to smash a window. A second photo is a blurry shot of mans face. If you know the people in the pictures police want you to call them. A man who wanted to testify against James Whitey Bulger has turned up dead. They found the body of steven rakes. Autopsy showed no signs of trauma and friends say they dont believe its a suicide. Prosecutor once considered calling rakes to testify against bulger. Before they caught him. Bulger is currently on trial facing racketeering charges. House of representatives is set to vote today on a republican rewrite of the no child left behind education law. Under the revised version teacher evaluations, School Improvement plans, and academic standards would be up to each state. The workers were in a field when they were hit by the bolt of lightning. Several of them were knocked unconscious. Two of the workers are listed in critical condition. Two armed men who were wearing either masks or something covering their faces came inside the bond fair market here in the 1500 block of high street. According to police there were two employees inside. One in the stock room and the other working the register. The gunman attempted to rob the store when they came in contact with an off duty Alameda County sheriffs deputy that was already inside. The deputy fearing for his life and those of the other customers pulled his gun. Investigators are looking at area hospitals to see if anyone had been admitted for gunshot wounds. No one else was injured. Officers say according to witness statements they do not believe the robbers fired a single shot. This is not the first time the store is in the scene of a robbery. Live in alameda im paul chambers. Later today we will find out the official cause of death for flight 214. The San Mateo County coroner announced how the teenager died. Sources were told that the teenager was allye when she was run out. Another report says she was buried up to a foot of Fire Fighting foam. Its unclear the incident happened before or after the firefighters started spraying the foam. Engine problems forced flight to return back to houston. The flight landed safely back in texas. I talked to a bart worker who said he is is not feeling good about the dialogue. Hes not feeling good about what is happening at the table. He is preparing for the possibility we could be looking for a strike again. August 4th is when the contract extension that both sides agreed upon ends and that is when a strike could happen. To be frank after the strike ended earlier this month they took a break. It has not been nonstop negotiations. A couple days ago Union Officials told ktvu management refuses to address their concerns. Certainly not a statement that beds well for getting this all done. Two weeks left and one rider we talked to this morning says he knows trains could stop running again. Its a possibility because there is management and the union dont come together. And something is going to have to happen. Reporter are you optimistic they could figure this out . Im always optimistic. Reporter i imagine it effects your commute. It does. Oakland police hope neighborhood Surveillance Video will help them find the person who killed an eightyearold girl. The citys interim police chief calls violence against children an emergency. More than 30 uniformed and plain closed officers canvassed the scene last night. Alaysha carradine was at a friends home for a sleepover when someone rang the doorbell and fired half a disease bullets through the door. Killing alaysha and wounding two others. Last night a group of mothers who lost children to gun violence held a vigil for alaysha. They gathered across the street from where the shooting happened. Southbound 880 looks good. No major problems on 580. Although westbound 580 coming up to dublin they are clearing up on a crash here. Watch out for slowing as you drive through it is backing up into livermore. We will get more details on that. And mike mentioned the giants do play tonight at at t park at 7 15. Yes. The investigation into under way in a deadly officer involved shooting at a market in alameda last tight. An off dutys sheriffs deputy that happened to be inside the store shot and killed the gunman that tried to rob that market. Its not clear what led up to the gunfire. Police say they were forced to shoot and kill a young man when he charged with the Ambulance Company that serves Santa Clara County is operating in the red. The San Jose Mercury news reports rural metro missed a crucial bond payment. And the Credit Rating has been downgraded to junk status. A lawsuit has been filed against the outside lands Music Festival by a woman who says she was raped and robbed during last years event. That lawsuit claims security didnt help the woman as she was assaulted in a wooded area of golden gate park. Three women reported being sexually assaulted during last years festival. Organizers not commented on the lawsuit but they say safety is their top concern. Two men could get life in prison after being convicted in the richmond gang rape trial. Guilty of Forcible Rape while acting in concert. 20yearold Marcelles Peter were convicted of all three charges against them. They were on trial for participating in the brutal gang rape of a 16yearold girl in 2009. They will be sentenced on august 15th. Two other men have been convicted in the case. Two others are still awaiting trial. Six days after a jury acquitted George Zimmerman in Trayvon Martins death martins parents are speaking out. They said they were disgusted in the verdict and said zimmerman guilty away with got away with murder. I thought for sure that the jury looked at trayvon as an average teenager. That was minding his own business. That wasnt committing any crime. Civil rights organizations have called for the department of justice to investigate. The Justice Department as placed a hold on all evidence in the case. Attorney general eric holder says the investigation will be remain open. Protestors are calling on rick scott for push for a repeal of the states stand your ground law. I put together a task force of 19 individuals bipartisan. They travel the state. They listen to ordinary citizens. They listen to expert. And they concluded we did need to make a change to the law. Protestors say governor rick scott should call florida legislatures into a special session to repeal the law. Scott met with protestors yesterday but says he supports the law. Attorney general eric holder has called for a review of the stand your ground laws saying the country must quote take a hard look at laws that contribute to more violence than they prevent. Sheriffs deputies say a mother may have stopped her son from being kidnapped. It happened wednesday morning in the parking lot at highlands hospital. The 30yearold suspect went up to a sixyearold boy and asked for a high five. The suspect then allegedly tried to grab the child but his mother held on to him and wouldnt let go. The mother won the tug of war. Deputies soon arrived and arrested the suspect. The city of San Francisco is moving forward with a bike Registry Program to help cut down on the number of stolen bikes. A new report shows more than 4,000 bikes were stolen or targeted last year. That is up 70 in the past six years. The increase in thefts is likely due to more people riding bikes in the city. But in response the city wants to improve Police Enforcement and increase bike parking. Muni is expected to release a bike parking plan in september. So far this friday morning commute i guess you can say smooth sailing. Yeah for the most part, mike. There are a couple spots out there. Lets take a look at the 24 commute between the walnut creek area and oakland. Still looks pretty good. I would say smooth sailing for sure. No problems on the other side as you drive down to the mccarthur maze area. This mornings commute is going to be okay at the toll plaza. There is a little bit of a delay in the far left lane. Last time when we talked about the Livermore Valley i misspoke. I thought it was a crash but it was late running road work that had been picked up. It has the same effect though. The lanes were closed. They were picking it up a little late. We heard from a couple people that sent me messages saying yeah i got to work this morning and thought it was going to be completely smooth on 580 but it wasnt. Hopefully that will clear up soon. Lets go to steve. Thank you, sir. We have a pretty good area of fog out there. Good fog bank on the coast isnt getting anywhere. But inland temps are actually cooled off. A lot of 50s. Higher elevations in the 70s. High pressure has built in. Some of that warm air aloft sending temperatures 80s and 90s. For most today and tomorrow will be the warmest day. Some of the forecast models start to decrease some of the high temps for livermore and concord. We will see. San ho saw san jose and santa rosa really getting in. A lot of low clouds and fog peels back to the coast. Low 50s for some. Santa rosa 52. Don ford 56. Warmer weather has definitely kicked in. The western edge of this High Pressure not nearly as intense. But next three days far enough inland yes, you will get low. 01. This will not be the strength we had in this system a couple weeks ago. Fog, sun, warm for some. Thick fog means 60nd by the coast. Although the fog is burning off.
