Mainly upper 40s and 50s. There are a few that are a little cooler. Half a mile visibility. Quarter of a mile at concord. Nine miles at fairfield. Maybe you will give us a little bit of light rain tomorrow morning. Santa cruz, san jose cool down in that pattern. All right brian so far so good. You have issues to talk about . Over all sol far so good. There are a couple issues to talk about. Its unclear if the fog is playing a role in these accidents. Lets get right to it. Were taking a look at the east shore freeway where this is 80 westbound. Big rig that was carrying a bunch of wood palettes. The wood palettes got loose and now they are all over the number three and four lanes. This is 80 westbound at university. Moving along to the san mateo bridge are there no injure problems . A cool 30 minutes if your commute takes you to Castro Valley into san mateo. We can keep an eye on that route. No major problems if you approach coliseum. 6 02 lets go back to the desk. Websites are describing a very disturbing scene where a woman was shot to death as she tried to protect a child from bullets. And then just hours later a gun battle that erupted near Highland Hospital appears to be related to it. Alex savidge is in our newsroom. Reporter Oakland Police have their work cut out for them. Two of them do appear to be connected. Possibly a case of retaliation. The violent first began just before 5 00 last night when there was this drive by shooting near chestnut and 28th street. Neighbors describe a scary scene. As many as 20 gunshots fired from a passing car into a group of people on the sidewalk. And police say a woman in her 20s was hit and died at the scene while a man and a boy were injured and hospitalized. Neighbors also tell us the woman who was killed had been trying to shield her child from the bullets when she was struck there. Now a few hours later at around 8 00 there was another shooting just across the street. Sheriffs investigators call this a shoot out. Nobody was hit here but investigators do say the gun battle appears to be connected to the earlier shooting in west oakland. Deputies followed a car connected to both of those shootings. They wound up detaining several people inside. Finally after 10 30 there was another shooting near 44th street and linden. A number of shots fired there. It does not appear there was any shooting victims pound at that scene. You can imagine Oakland Police have a lot of work to do. Neighbors on edge after hearing explosions coming from a home at a novato woman accused of setting off explosions weeks ago. Last night the bomb squad swooped in and authorities detained 43yearold Lauren Lee Mason who lives at the home where three weeks ago authorities discovered a large cash of explosive devices. The preliminary hearing for officer jeffrey graves started yesterday. He is charged with one felony count raping a woman and two felony counts on abuse of his exgirlfriend. The Justice Department report describes the Court Systems as money making enterprises. It violated the Constitutional Rights of african americans. Officials in madison, wisconsin want to know who is responsible for a cyber attack who may be linked to a Deadly Police shooting. Yesterday the city started seeing problems with computers used by Law Enforcement as well as the citys website and e mail system. Now similar Cyber Attacks have happened in other cities around the country after officer involved shootings. On friday a madison Police Officer shot and killed an unarmed 19yearold. Crowds of protestors gathered last night in the Wisconsin State Capitol rotunda to express outrage over that shooting death. Tony robinson was unarmed when she was shot and killed during a confrontation with two madison Police Officers. Police say one of the officers was assaulted and suffered a head injury before the shooting occurred. The chief of police visited with robinsons family and apologized for his death. Until we have all the facts, think think we have to do our Due Diligence. We paint him as a human being. A 19yearold who made a terrible mistake at one point which is completely, completely disassociated from this act to make it clear we appreciate the police and understand the necessity for them. As far as the victim goes he is a 22yearold man and he was shot just outside of his apartment complex here we are told he was shot three times. This happened out in the grass area. The lawn area where you see the clothes strewn on there as well as beer cans. Offices rushed to the scene after getting calmness had been shot. They found him on the ground with gunshot wounds. There was an argument and that is when the shots were fired. He was rushed to the hospital where he is suffering gunshot wounds to the face, abdomen and heart. We are doing a full canvas to see what anybody else might have seen or heard or what other video might be available. We are looking for any clues. Reporter the two men drove off in silver sedan and they were wearing all black. Covering their faces from the nose down. Its unknown if they knew each other or if this was gang related. This was not considered a high profile neighborhood. I spoke briefly with a man that knows the victim that was in shock and says the victim isnt known to get in trouble. They say he got home from work late and hanging out his friends, drinking outside when this all happened. Again very serious injuries. We are told that they are life threatening. Pam. Were also told the initial call came in about 90 minutes ago. Police found the pickup about 30 minutes ago after the search. Were going to keep you posted on that with any updated information. But again the proper lookout vail or park street bridge so it could effect traffic in that area. A search is intensifying for a child molestation suspect who escaped from custody in san jose last friday. The Santa Clara CountySheriffs Office says catching 43year old carter is their top priority. Heres his photo. During a routine physical they are be by appointment at Santa Clara ValleyMedical Center he over powered a deputy and escaped. The group bikers against child abuse has taken it upon themselves, they are making sure the girl is accused of molesting is protected. Members of the local chapter stood outside their home yesterday. They have alerted state authorities to be on the lookout for any sign of them and formed a Multiagency Task force to try to track them down. Pg e crews have fully restored the power after close to 3,000 people lost their power over night. Now take a look at this map. This is the current outage area. Customers first lost power just before 11 30 last night. The outages are mainly in southwest vallejo. Pg e says the cause of the outage was a downed power line and at its peak the outage effected 2800 customers. About 500 people still have no power.
