That looks pretty good as you drive over to the highrise and 101. At the bay bridge toll plaza, we do have a backup. The metering lights were turned on. Its only backed up for a 15 minute wait before you get into San Francisco and were hoping that this backup will clear up as the morning wears on. Police had no choice but to soot a robbery suspect with a kitchen knife. Tara moriarty is live in San Francisco. They were chasing the man after he was trying to steal a bicycle . Reporter that is right. And you know what police chief greg suhr said the victim thanked his captain last night saying these two under cover officers saved his life. This all happened at 10 45 last night. We know that two plained clothed officers saw a man with a long kitchen knife chasing a bicyclist down folsom. The officers where are on patrol in the area and responded to a call for help in an Unmarked Police car. The suspect pulled out the six inch long kitchen knife and trying to steal the victims bicycle when Police Stopped in. The officers told him to drop the knife. He refused. We have several witnesses that heard this. Reporter investigators found six shell casings at the scene. So far the identity of the suspect has not been released. The chief said hes going to hold a town hall meeting in the neighborhood to discuss what happened. Live from San Francisco im Tara Moriarty. Back to you. Time is 6 04. A San FranciscoPolice Officer is accused of using Excessive Force during a confrontation with a homeless man. The incident occurred on february 11th. The bus driver told police the homeless man was sleeping and refused to leave the bus. The video shows Police Officer raymond chew trying torous the 36yearold man. The situation escalates though when warren tells the officer to stop touching him and threatens to beat up the officer. He makes some comments to the officer who immediately takes the situation and turn ifs it into something violent. Officer chew used his police baton and pepper spray to make the arrest. Warren faces misdemeanor charges of threatening an officer. Police chief greg suhr says he has reviewed the incident and believes the use of force was necessary. Hundreds of berkeley may have been exposed to measles. Last night the city of berkeley issued a measles alert. An adult from San Mateo County visited la pedestrian terrain restaurant. Anyone who was in that restaurant between 6 45 p. M. And 10 00 p. M. May have been exposed to measles. Be the experts advise monitor yourself for symptoms until march 13th. As we mentioned, bart riders are also at risk of contracting the measles and ktvu fox 2 alex savidge is joining us live at the Civic Center Bart station with more about that possible exposure. Alex. Reporter that infected passenger road from millbrae to San Francisco one week ago today in the afternoon and that person got off here at the civic center station according to Health Officials. That is why they are worried this person potentially exposed as many as 1500 other riders to the virus. The person that was sick with measles lives in San Mateo County. Other than that Health Officials are not offering any more information. They boarded a richmond bound train one week ago today at the millbrae station at 4 30 in the afternoon. And then got off in San Francisco about a half an hour later. According to Health Officials even people that were not in close contact with the inteched rider potentially could have been exposed and that is because the measles virus is highly contagious and can remain alive and airborne for up to two hours. Health officials do remind everybody the risk of becoming sick is very low if riders have been immunized. Bart riders are weighing in. Theyve got to stop letting people get away with not doing the immune system. And they just dont do it anymore. They dont think its any good. Reporter now this is the second warning about measles that has gone out to bart riders earlier this month. Bart officials let the public know about an infected passenger that has exposed 25,000 fellow riders. Right now in california we are facing a measles outbreak. There have been 126 cases reported in the state. Many of them tied of course to the disney theme parks down in southern california. And Health Officials say that anyone who believes they may have been on the same train as this infected passenger from San Mateo County again one week ago riding from millbrae into San Francisco to the civic center station if they are not immunized they should watch out for any potential sign of measles virus. Under cover investigation led officers to a motel in sunnyvale. According to the Santa Clara County da office they met the east bay teenager on social media. They found simmons nearby with 6500 cash and a motel key. He had sexually abused her. And that he was aware of her age and that he had also physically assaulted her. Simmons is being held on 1 million bail. He could face up to 15 years in state prison if he is convicted on all charges. Menlo college may have dropped its Football Program but some students and alumni are still fighting to get it back. Today they will held a rally on the schools campus in atherton. A petition on causes. Com called save menlo football already has more than 1700 signatures. Now only 750 students go to menlo college. It was the fifth Largest School with a Football Program. They have seen chicken, rabbits, and kittens out there. It was three hours of llama drama after they got loose and took them around sun city. They were being taken to a senior care facility for a mobile petting zoo yesterday morning but when the People Holding the ropes got spooked, the llamas took the opportunity to make a break for it. And the chase was on. There were times when people got close to capturing the llamas but the second but at the last second they were off again. Come at them and they kind of spook. Officers apparently told him to drop his weapon but when he didnt, they fired. Reporter at some point in time the officers as they are only allowed to fire in defense of themselves or others felt that one of the situations was in play. They fired upon the suspect. Reporter investigators found six shell casings at the scene. So far the identity of the suspect has not been released. Sheriffs deputies in Sonoma County are investigating a suspicious death at a rural farmhouse. A body was found just before noon yesterday at a home on rose avenue east of highway 101. Now the death was reported by someone who went to the home and then found that body. When investigators got there they roped off the area with crime scene tape. An older man and sister lived in that home. The home is surrounded by horse pastures and chicken coops and neighbors say the owners often rented it out. I know they rented the pastures out for horses but as far as actually seeing who im not here enough to see what happened. As far as any wrong doing going on. Investigators spent the day out there. So far they have not released very Little Information about this case. Police are investigating a disturbing incident involving racist graffiti. On sunday morning at least five cars were vandalized. All had racial or very hateful messages spray painted on them. Two of the car owners are single mothers both african american. Another mans mini van had die spray painted on the side. The citys police chief says the vandalism was not caught on any surveillance cameras but he has police canvassing the area looking for any leads. We have a duty to them to find out what happened. If it is an about of vandalism that is one thing. One of the cars had its windows bashed in but nothing was stolen. The chief is hoping someone with information will come forward. Major League Soccers newest stadium is about to open. In san jose. Today the earthquakes will have a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on their new hightech stadium. The they will vote on a clean bill that does not block funding for president obamas immigration reforms. There is a vote scheduled on a measure that would fund Homeland Security for another three weeks. Nonetheless, it has come down to both sides bickering on funding. And theyre on the precipice of falling down on the job. Particularly when that is notable that we talk about something as important as the Homeland Security. The speaker brought a vote to the floor it was just a clean vote on dhs that funded what i believe an unconstitutional action. Im not going to be a part of that. Since the Program Began seven weeks ago, the dmv has issued 110,000 drivers licenses to immigrants that are in the United States illegally. Some of them lined up for hours to apply for the special licenses. Applicants just like all drivers must pass aurin and road test. California expects to issue 1. 4 million licenses. We have developing news coming in from missouri. Authorities say eight people were found dead at separate locations in tyrone, missouri. This is in texas county. It happened early this morning. The the dead included a suspected gunman. There are four or five different crime scenes.
