It burst just after midnight at key street and key avenue in the bay area neighborhood. Water gushed out of the broken line for four hours flooding homes and streets. Tara moriarty has been out there this morning and tara, you have new information that might explain why this main burst. Reporter that would be due to an old pipe. A cast iron pipe from 1953. Crews right now are continuing to clean up the mess. They opened up jamestown. We do know officials isolated the break, they pinched it off after four hours. So a massive amount of water was lost. The force of the water coming down key street was sol great it ripped the bumper of a car right off. The break happened around midnight sending water gushing. Officials tell us half a dozen homes have been flooded here off key avenue. So not too far from candle stick park. Many residents can be seen sweeping water from their garages. And cars have been water logged. Well be out here until the job is done. We dont know how long the repair will take. A normal water main takes off 4 6 hours. It could take longer. In the mean tame there will be three blocks without water. We will do everything we can. Reporter now officials will wait until its light out to see if the damage is more widespread than they first thought. They say it is possible that more homes were impacted. It is still quite messy out here. Police have quarantined off a couple of blocks. The water is still flowing down here and pumping the water out. Again the break has been isolated. Live from San Franciscos Bay View District im Tara Moriarty five young people are in the hospital after a crash. Police say three women and two men were inside a lexus sedan when it crashed into a utility pole. We have just learned they were all in their late teens or early 20s. All five victims are expected to survive. Police say the driver was speeding but they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. A hightech company known for showering its employees with benefits they are now doing the same for some of its security guards. Those jobs have always been out sourced but not anymore. Employees here at google enjoy free meals, transportation, among other perks. But the security guards who protect the campus here didnt even get house insurance or benefits from google. The Mountain View voice is reporting that google is dropping its contracts from a Security Company that provided guards. The tech company will create 200 or part time full time security guards. The company says it values the Service Security guards provide because it wants to insure its companies are safe and employees are well taken care of. For security guards this should mean Better Living wages and hushes. There has been numerous protests held by the union that represents security guards and other in the Service Industry. They are upset that Tech Companies are not taking the initiative to hire them directly and offer them the same benefits offered by tech workers. Google appears to be the only one following suit. And then we have a crash on the peninsula northbound 101 near peninsula avenue right before broadway burlingame. We had a crash that was blocking lanes. Traffic was backed up to 238. Traffic is backed up for a 20 minute drive into San Francisco. This is san jose northbound 280 and 101 still looking good into the west valley. Its 6 30, lets go back to the desk. We are quite aways from where the break happened. At least the length of two football fields. It happened way down the street there. The water flowed all the way down this sidewalk and into this house you see right here. Just to give you an idea how wide spread the damage is. The water crept into the garage of this home and crews are still cleaning it up. The force of the water coming down key street was so great it ripped the bumper of a car sheer off. It was due to a 12inch cast iron pipe from 1952 which burst. Officials isolated that break and pinched it off four hours after the rupture. A massive amount of water was lost. In some cases we had up to a foot or two. And so the homes that were lower lying has a below grade garages or below grade units, those are the ones that tend to flood. Officials will wait until its light outside to see if the damage is more wide spread. They say it is possible that more homes and cars were impacted. It is very messy out here. Investigators in oakland are looking for the cause of a huge fire that damaged three homes. It started last night on redding street. Right near interstate 580. Neighbors say the fast moving fire quickly raced from one home to to others. Firefighters had to avoid a downed power line right outside the burning building. They also had to take a narrow staircase up four flights just to get to the home that had the most damage. This was a very tough fire fight going up a steep hill into a structure fire. This was unusual for a firefighter to have to face that. Reporter no one was hurt but investigators say one home damaged in the fire is a complete loss. Investigators are trying to identify the body that was found inside of a burned down garage. That fire was on a vacant property on florida and alameda streets yesterday afternoon. So far it is not known how the person died. Squatters were recently evicted from that garage. But a neighbor says he saw one person return to the property the night before. Duncans friend told cnn Anderson Cooper she hasnt been able to get rid of the bed sheets and towels that duncan used. So you took them off the bed and put them into a plastic bag . Now the government of liberia may file charges against duncan if they find out he lied to get out of the country. He filled out a form stating he had not taken care of anyone infected with ebola. Several teem said he had been helping ebola patients in liberia. The dallas hospital that is now treating him, they are trying to explane why he was allowed to go home with antibiotics after his first trip to the quite. Administrators are blaming a security flaw. The search is on this morning for the people that carried out a care of violent robberies last night near the bart station. One of the victims was shot. Close if the bart station which is right over there. In one case, a man was badly beaten and in another case a man was shot in the leg. Police believe the two robbers were responsible for both of these Violent Crimes. Crimes he had been shot along  key boulevard close to the bart station. He told police he had been robbed and shot nearby. That is when they found a second man that had been beaten. Those two victims do not know each other but both say they were robbed while walking along the greenway. Both of the men are expected to survive their injuries. El cerrito Police Stepped patrols in response to allosteries of armed robberies including response to a series of armed robberies including one where a man was pistol whipped. Police are looking for at least two men. One of them was likely armed and they believe those two men were behind the two violent robberies last fight.
