Not a bad commute at all. But its crowded at the bay bridge toll plaza. 2530 minute drive time already into San Francisco. And that includes your drive time on the bridge. There are no major problems getting on to the bridge. Highway 4 already some slow traffic in antioch. The rest of the traffic there looks pretty good. We talked about the east shore freeway. We are looking at the benicia bridge and southbound traffic there looks good into concord. San Francisco Police are look for the driver that crashed their car into a well known store. Tara moriarty is outside Cliffs Variety store where tara you just spoke to the owner. Reporter yeah she says she got a call from her alarm company. The driver had gone through two of her front store windows. You can see they are still cleaning up. They have done a Pretty Amazing job. This san absolute mess. They are cleaning up the toys that toppled from the shelves inside. City crews swept up the glass. You can see the damage done to the building itself. Police say this was a hit and run. The person driving this concertable mercedes slammed into the Hardware Store at 4 20 this morning. Authorities say he or she veered off the road. Ripping a garbage container right out. Then skid about 30 feet and finally crashed into another window themselves. The owner said that she is angry the driver ran off after the incident. Think its probably pretty typical of anybody who is drinking and driving and has an accident to not have have the man enough to stand around and take the knocks for it. Reporter there is some blood inside the car so the driver was hurt but were not sure how badly because he ran away. Police are running the license plate right now. They will be asking nearby businesses for Surveillance Video. The cars engine is destroyed. We will keep you posted if we get more information about that driver and any arrests. Live in San Francisco im Tara Moriarty ktvu channel 2 news. Also new this morning firefighters responded to reports of heavy smoke at the muni station just about an hour ago. According to the San Francisco firefighter, the smoke was coming from a maintenance truck parked near the tunnel. The Fire Department also says no one was injured. Chp investigating a deadly crash thatten had over night on interstate 680 in alamo. That happened just before midnight. One witness called 911 saying a car drove up the right shoulder of the freeway and hit several trees. The driver died in a crash. He is being identified only as a 59yearold man from pittsburgh. He was driving by himself. No one else was hurt. Freeway traffic is not effected by the investigation. Police in san jose are looking for leads of a hit and run case that left an autistic man with critical injuries. All police have to go on is the driver behind the wheel may have been driving in a black sedan. There is no damage to it. The accident happened right here at this intersection at hostetter just a block away from the entrance to 680. John paul garcia is in the intensive care unit at san jose Regional Medical unit. He is suffering from broken bones and spinal cord injury that could leave him paralyzed. Last wednesday night garcia was in the crosswalk at hostetter at four oaks when witnesses say a car ran a red light, hit him, and left the scene. The family says they were tole the body threw at least 20 feet knocking him out of his shoes. Garcia had gone to buy ice cream for his nephew and on his way back home when he was hit. He was left behind when he got hit by this driver. They didnt have the heart to stop and help my son. Reporter garcias mother drove by the accident on her way to work that night but had no idea it was her son laying in the road. The family says they understand accidents happen but they want the person responsible to own up to their actions. The family says they are offering a 2,000 reward if the person responsible is found. Reporting live from san jose janine de la vega ktvu channel 2 news. A Mountain View woman was arrested this weekend after she reportedly attacked two cal train conductors. Cal train Officials Say 22year old maria palsada was acting trunk and yelling obscenities on a train while heading home from San Franciscos pride festival. When conductors asked her to get off they say she became violent. One of them was taken to the hospital and later released. She was arrested and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators say the suspect slow ised down to let a little boy out of his car and then ran to a Highway Patrol car. Police are looking for the driver of a car that smashed into a store at a castro district. Tara moriarty is outside Cliffs Variety store where the owner is now getting a good look at all the damage. She said that construction crews have been doing some immaterial privates to the sidewalk and everything had been torn up for the past two months. Things are finally starting to get back to normal. Business picking up and this happened. Take a look here. You can see quite some damage. Most of it has been cleaned up. But there is a garbage can that was ripped out of the sidewalk. There is no window in that store front. If we pan over the to right, you can tell where there is structural damage to the building. Police say this was a hit and run. The person driving a convertible mercedes slammed into the Hardware Store a little after 4 00 this morning. Authorities say the driver veered off the road, ripping a garbage container sheer off the sidewalk. The trash can shattered one window. The car broke another. And now toys are played all over the floor inside. It knocked over all the toys. Reporter explain what you have to do here. I have to clean it up. One man has been hurt in an Early Morning house fire. Alex savidge is there on the scene. This is 35th avenue near 580. Alex. Reporter yeah oakland firefighters still quite busy out here. This fire burned up into the attic. We can give you a live look. Firefighters up on the roof. And they are tearing through that attic. [ inaudible ] all right we are having problems with alex out there in oakland. We will check back with him in a moment. Meantime oaklands improving budget situation allowing the Fire Department to end rotating station closures. Now for the past two years, the citys Fire Department has suffered through the closures each station has been shut down for three days at a time. With the rotating closures saving 2. 5 million a year. Oaklands new budget has given the department some breezing room and the temporary closures will end tomorrow. Time is 6 34. Two people were injured after multiple shootings. This is cell phone video taken around 6 30 last night after witnesses report hearing gunshots. No one was injured and police say a man was arrested in the area with two guns. Half an hour after that, a woman was shot on Market Street just outside the warfield theater. One person was arrested in that incident. This is the same stretch of Market Street where a man was shot multiple times around 7 00 on saturday night. Now both people who were shot are expected to survive their injuries. All three incidents happen near the end of yesterdays parade route. Police are asking anyone who saw anything or has information on what led up to the violence to come forward. We are still waiting to hear from police how many total arrests were made over the weekend. So far we know 75 people were arrested on saturday alone. 65 of those arrests were for public intoxication. Six felony arrests were also made for assault and weapons violations. And four people were arrested on misdemeanor charges. The pride celebration brought more than one Million People to San Francisco. The 44th annual pride parade and festival was held days after a federal court of appeals ruled that same sex couples have a constitutional right to marry. Firefighters are tearing through the roof to make sure that this fire is completely out. The man who lives here we understand he did escape this Early Morning fire. But he was burned on his head in the process. This is video we took a short time ago as firefighters treated that man. The fire first started at 5 30 this morning on the house that is on 35th avenue right near 580. Oakland firefighters were here in about a minute and they knocked the flames down quickly. The fire appears to have started on the porch of the home which does raise some red flags. We have our burn investigator here doing their own investigation. It does appear it did start on the porch at this time. Reporter and the man that lives here told firefighters he woke up in the middle of the morning to smoke and flames and he ran through the front door of the home which was on fire in order to get out of the house. But again he did make it out alive this morning but he did suffer minor burns to his head in the process. As we bring you back out here to a live picture. You can see quite a few firefighters still busy out here. And again, fire investigator was out here trying to figure out the cause of the fire. For the most part his investigation was focused on the front porch of this home where they do believe the fire started. They are not calling it suspicious at this point but they say it certainly does raise eyebrows. The very least this fire would start outside of the home. Police in antioch are looking for the person who shot seven people during a party over the weekend. That shooting happened saturday night at a home on cedar point way. There was a good size crowd at the home when a person road by on a bike and fired shots into the garage. They found five men shot at the scene when they arrived. Two others showed up at local hospitals. Anyone with information is asked to call police. Jury deliberations are set to resume today in brian stows civil trial. They are seeking 38 million to pay his medical bills in future years and double that for pain and suffering. The dodgers were negligent and should have pleaded guilty. Also happening today San Francisco General Hospital will formerly review its response to the asiana air crash one year ago. That is after the Trauma Center treated dozens of passengers immediately after that crash landing at sfo. Today the hospital will display the models for new Emergency Rooms that will be used in the next mass casualty disaster. Sf general will hold a Panel Discussion on the critical lessons learned. A new 911 center will be unvailedded in oakland. The facility includes new and improved workstations and more efficient shot spotter operation. Officials have identified the robbery suspect that went on a bizarre rampage at a san jose liquor store. He is 25yearold justin johnson. Surveillance video from june 16th shows him going behind the counter and throwing bottles at the clerk. The clerk was not injured but johnson got away. Authorities say he has two outstanding felony warrants, 510, 215 pounds. Heres a picture of him. Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Clara County sheriffs office. San jose Police Continue to look for the hit and run driver that left an accident scene last week leaving a man with special needs critically injured. Well, its good. Lets go out and take a look at highway 4 westbound. You can see its slow between loan tree and lodge. Driving at 33 miles an hour. Six minutes now. Remember its just less than that. Usually a two or three minute drive for that short stretch. But this is where all the slow traffic is on highway 4 coming up to the willow pass grade. I do want to mention on interstate 8 10 traffic is doing well right through downtown oakland and heading down to hayward. Northbound traffic looks good from san leandro to the downtown oakland area. And 580 just as we suspected will fill in or has filled in. 680 is also slow. There was a crash there. And 580 and 680 in this area is kind of slow. 880 traffic is a little slow heading down to union city. Just got a tweet. We will try top investigate and find out more about that. Coming up. San francisco there is not an offshore breeze. If there is, its not that strong. So 78 which is definitely warm and way above average. It will be warm there. There will be a pretty big difference. Inland temps have no problem warming up. But 40s and 50s to 60s on the temps. Again you get up this high and you can fiend some 70s. Lahonda. And then not much of a breeze. A little easterly breeze at napa. A little northerly breeze for some. But the delta breeze is very, very calm. That is usually a sure fine temperatures will warm up. But that is about the northern extent of it. Its not going to make much of an impact. I think tomorrow will though. 40s up in the mountains. 60s to 70s in the valley. 50s on the coast.
