Emily is in washington with a report on the hearings. Good morning, emily. Reporter hi pam. David petraeus testimony before the house Intelligence Committee began early. In fact just two hours ago it wrapped up after an hour and a half despite all of the pictures people wanted to get of him going into the closed door hearing. He went in out of the cameras view. Once he got into that hearing room no way to escape really being put on the spot. No way to avoid scrutiny. The house and Senate Intelligence committee wants to know what petraeus has learned about the september attack on the u. S. Consulate in libya. There were cop flicking reasons given for the attack immediately following it. Was it violence . Or was it the work of terrorists . The cia eventually ruled out the film but petraeus already briefed congress the day after the attack. And an official with knowledge of the case says petraeus mentioned both possibilities in that hearing. After todays house hearing wrapped up, one republican summed up petraeus system like this. As far as general petraeus testimony today was that from the start he had told us that this was a terrorist attack. A terrorist involved in the start. I told him my questions have different recollections of that. It was out of a spontaneous demonstration and it was not a terrorist attack. Reporter we also got a little more insight from representative king who says the briefing was juror jill and no oath was actually given to petraeus. Pam. Another big story our morning commute messes out there. Sal has all the details. It hasnt started raining in most areas yet but the bay bridge is the big banner headline here. We have a huge backup on the bridge because of an earlier problem. This backup is stretching not only from the mccarthur maze but 880 and 580 and the 80 freeway itself coming in slow. 580 is backed up almost all the way out to the lake shore curve. That is a huge backup getting into San Francisco as our news chopper 2 is looking right now and tilting upward. There is 580 stretching out past the 980 interchange. So this is one of those things that will effect your commute throughout the entire east bay. People hearing about this. Might be on the san mateo bridge as an alternate and 880 will be slow. Give yourself plenty of time if you can ride bart. Bart is a good way to get into the city. Golden gate bridge a little slowing here in some spots but its a little wet here as steve mentioned. What is coming in right now is starting to get things juiced up. It wont take much to get light rain moving right along. One band. Maybe a little break here. Cloudy rain there will be another system late saturday. Cloudy with rain off and on today. Although on the mild side due to the nature of the system coming up to the southwest. Mid 60s. Rain begins. And the back up of the bay bridge if you are just joining us its terrible. Its huge. Even the people who use car pools say well you know the car pool will save me. Not necessarily. You have to get there first on 580 and 880. When you get to the toll plaza yes the car pool lane will help. But just getting there will be a lot longer than you expected. Because those car pool lanes could jam up just like anybody else. This is a live look from news chopper 2 right now on 80 westbound. You see the line stretching all the way up to berkeley. 580 that line stretches out to the lake shore curve near grand avenue believe it or not. 24 is backed up all the way up the hill to college avenue. The darker green that is the heavier rain. Key is though the first system in the morning then a little bit of break around the noon hour and then next system comes in tonight. That will give us moderate rain. Its here. Cloudy rain. Off and on rain. There could be some pretty good rain overnight with that low. Well get a break sunday afternoon into monday with your weekend always in view. Rain that steve has been talking about has been very stressful for one local neighborhood imparticular. Ktvu Tara Moriarty is is in daly city and the neighborhood where crews are trying to protect homes from another mud slide. Reporter the rain has been coming down here over the past half hour. That is making neighbors a little uneasy. As you can see at the top of the hillside where all of the tapes go. That is where the broken water main was. And it unleashed all of this mud you see all through this park. Heres a park bench. You can see how high the mud got over here. As we walk over to this area you can see this is netting crews just laid. As sort of a temporary fix. This is sort of reminding folks of 30 years ago when we had a major storm in it and it clogged all of the drains. Both of these incidents the broken water main and that storm definitely weighing on the minds of the folks around here. Priority right now is to make sure the rain doesnt make this mud slide any worse. Originally the city said that 45,000 gallons of water gushed from that ruptured pipe.
