as soon as tomorrow. let's bring in ktvu meteorologist mark tamayo with when the next storm is going to be moving in, mark looks like we are talking about some rainfall developing to morrow morning sometime between priority seven and 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, so kind of a mid morning deal, but today as we kind of have you been hearing we're celebrating the break in the rain fall for today across the bay area. in fact, a nice day to get outside. you can see our live camera looking out towards the estuary out towards san francisco. just some high clouds, some filtered sunshine, but a beautiful day with temperatures. actually the warm side lots of sixties you'll probably notice that change when you step outside the door, but we are talking about some more rain in your friday forecast. and your weekend, especially on saturday and looks like another system wants to move into the region early next week from monday, so the stormy active pattern will continue. but today we put a pause on all of that. we enjoy the sunshine across the region. now there are some rain . it's heading up to our north as you can see up on the north coast of california, so we just have some high clouds and some rainfall kind of getting close to the north bay, so there is a slight chance of a north based sprinkle. but as you can see, with the radar right now, the main activity is heading up to our north, especially right around cape mendocino right around humboldt county, but things will be changing for tomorrow and plan on a soggy weekend here in the bay area as the storm track kind of re energizes itself and wants to focus right here in the bay area will have more on that more. your forecast coming up in a few months. all right, mark, thanks so much cleaning up from this week's storm continues as another system looms on the peninsula, a tree that came crashing down in foster city, sparking renewed interest in a controversial plot of land. ktvu sally rasmus has that story owns this corner lot on beach park boulevard and foster city says he's been trying to have this building and the trees here demolished for years. last night. mother nature may have sped up part of that process. at first glance, it looks like someone took a giant ax to the nearly 100 ft. tall cyprus and split it in half part of the tree trunk came down last night on several parked cars. luckily no one was hurt. the other part of the trunk fell onto a vacant building 16 on one beach backboard, but if you google it, you know the controversies. it's been going on for a long time. cassandra bobbo bought this one acre lot 20 years ago, he gave us a tour of the building used to be a church, then a community center. it sits on prime bayfront real estate with views of the water and san mateo bridge, and it's been empty for 14 years in 2019 dibaba applied to build 32 town homes on this lot, the city considered and rejected the plan. neighbors worried about whether the city could handle that many new residents on such a small parcel this land and what to do with it has been a point of contention in the housing debate in foster city for years, forgotten until this fallen tree became a new focal point. it's unfortunate just i'm happy that nobody is hurt. that's all what i am. my concern at this time. but you want something to be done with this? right? was eventually i mean, it cannot be sitting like vacant like this for a long time, this side to being vacant for long time. and undeveloped. something had to be. it has to be developed as supporting time . whether it's me or somebody else and what kind of development only time will tell . just last week to bobbo says he applied for a permit again with the city to demolish the building. that permit was pending. when this tree came crashing down, he says he's not sure what effect it will have on that demolition process. in foster city. ali rasmus ktvu, fox two news. and the cemetery county a sinkhole has closed a four mile storm systems coming through the bay area have been great for the sierra palisades tahoe received a foot of snow overnight. the resort posted this photo on instagram last night, saying the mountains saw nearly four ft of snow in the last seven days earlier on mornings onto the nine we spoke with patrick lacey, the public relations manager at palisades tahoe, he says the snowfall has been consistent. we're not making as much snow. you know, mother nature is doing doing that for us. thank goodness and you know it's kind of groundhog day right now, because with all these, uh, with all these storms , that's very consistent right now, you know, and our operations are out there working as hard as they can so huge shout out to them to get that mountain open. lacey says. with the amount of snow falling, he could see ski season running longer than usual, possibly garcia. into july. imagine that would be incredible, and it would be amazing for them up there. they do need the recovery efforts. meteorologist mark tamayo is here now tracking when the next round will begin while we dry after today. i guess we're all smiling for today, right? we have the sunshine to appreciate it. looks like the tomorrow yeah, the rainfall makes a comeback on our forecast, and also as we head into the weekend, so plan on a soggy weekend. i wish we could. we could be talking about several days and more rainfall, but not the case. so right fall for your friday you can see the rainfall expectations back in the weekend forecast, especially on saturday. it's going to be stronger and then, possibly into early next week, as well by sunday night and into a monday another system comes on board. so here is the forecast for today. look at this a bunch of zeros here in the bay area. that's a nice setup. at least in the short term, tracking some more rain in your friday forecast into the weekend and even beyond the weekend, those numbers continue to go up. but maybe sometime in the next week, maybe about a week. from today we could be talking about a pattern change that will bring in some rain and keep the rain out of here and actually keep us dry for a little bit. here's a live camera looking out toward the north bay. still some lingering clouds and there's actually still the possibility of some light showers or some sprinkles focused up in the north bay to chance. but for right now, the main rainfall is heading up to our north up along the north coast right around eureka. right around cape mendocino. for us, though we have partly cloudy skies or mostly cloudy skies, and here's another look at that radar imagery showing you the rain. approaching cape mendocino as far as current numbers. it is mild kind of in the warm part of this weather pattern. so temperatures right now san francisco 60 degrees napa 63 san jose 66 livermore 63 degrees currently for the 12 o'clock hour, and you can see the overall weather pattern. we have our break today. we have a ridge building in so this is keeping most of the barrier dry. and mild for today. upstream in the flow is our next system. developing that will be coming on board for tomorrow and then behind it looks like we're talking about more rain. in fact , a stronger system on saturday and we'll keep those rain chances going in to what your sunday forecast here we are this afternoon. there is that right up to our north and if you can't see, this is five o'clock looking okay, here and then tomorrow morning, early tomorrow morning to six or seven o'clock. might be looking okay in terms of the dry pattern, but the rain chances increasing, especially after eight o'clock tomorrow morning. this is 11 o'clock and then ground you spreading across the bay area. there's even the chance of an isolated thunderstorm. so that's for your friday and then into your saturday here is that stronger system coming onboard so not much of a break from friday and into saturday as a rainfall rates pick up into the to the first half of the weekend, and look at all this. the sierras still falls still showing up in the weekend forecast. and then here we are two sunday. still some scattered rain off and on and possibility of some thunderstorms. highest forwards for this afternoon will be in the sixties. so today, onewarmeh clouds either partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day, but we have our break for your thursday and then we're talking about some more rain into your friday, rainfall develops a stronger system on saturday, often on rain into your sunday rainfall could be likely into monday and then possibly tuesday, but maybe a week from today. maybe a little bit earlier than that. we could be talking about a pattern change that could bring in several days of dry weather. we'll take it. we'll have to wait. still a little still made a few days for that. perfect mark. thank you coming up a call to ease overcrowding at the oakland animal shelter by the shelter says there is an urgent need to find
