A man hunt across several states was under way to find Steve Stevens. Acting on a tip Pennsylvania Police spotted stevens. They say officers tried to pull him over. He refused and after a brief pursuit stevens had shot and killed himself. After being accused of shooting and killing 74yearold Robert Godwin. Announcing his plan to kill someone and two minutes later he posted another video of the deadly shooting. Weve talked before about people not living their lives on social media and not harming people via social media and, you know, this is a prime example. This is something that should not have been shared around the world period. Now investigators would not speculate on what was behind the killing but in the video stevens posted he talked about losing everything he had to gambling and having trouble with his girlfriend. Three accusers in two different killings in the bay area are set to be sentenced today. They have both pleaded guilty in the shooting deaths of a backpacker and a hiker in marin county. 50 years or olliegood. That same defendant testified against his two former friends. Sean angle is expected to be sentenced to 15 years. In Sonoma County deputies are searching for a man accused of trying to rape a woman while she was out jogging. Just outside city limits right near the sonoma overlook trail and as ktvus lee martinez reports deputies in the area are now increasing patrols as they search for the suspect. The trail is very popular with runners and hikers but it is a very dense trail with a lot of tree cover. And today there are signs posted on the trail sign from the Sheriffs Department warning them about the attack. The woman says she was running through the trail sunday afternoon when a stranger yelled at her. She kept running but says the man came up from behind knocked her to the ground punched her several times and then tried to rape her. The woman fought him off and was able to run away and call 911. The person who did this he was a white male. He had a gray beard with gray hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and a black beanie cap. If anybody was around yesterday and saw anybody like that wed really appreciate a phone call. This person was described as homeless looking and rather stinky. But if you know of anybody like that please call us. The victim was treated at the hospital and later released. I came here and parked and a gentleman was reporting on the incident stopped me to advise me what happened and it completely changed my mind about heading up for hiking. My wife comes up here. The santa rosa canine unit and the helicopter searched for the attacker but did not find him. It has stepped up patrols in the area and because of the description of the suspect they will be searching around some of the homeless encampment areas as well. Police began their investigation of lane earlier this month after her 17yearold student was seen leaving campus several times. The student told investigators he was going to lanes car. In that 911 recording some terrifying moments for a family in the peninsula as a mountain came into their home and snatched their small dog. She went into her snarling get out of here bark, right and then nothing. No sound. It was about 3 00 a. M. The dog had been at the foot of the same bed where vicky and her 12yearold daughter had been sleeping. They believe it was a Mountain Lion. And as it was walking away i knew that was a lion and i knew it had to have got her thats why she stopped barking. A resident had a Mountain Lion in the bedroom took the dog and left with the dog now theyre request the contact and area. They quickly called authorities. The California Department of fish and wild life and San Mateo CountySheriffs Department responded finding paw prints at the scene. They agree this was likely a Mountain Lion. The Mountain Lions a wild animal. Its a predator, its a hunter, its immediatier. It entered the room with the intent to do that.
