They 2broke out inside a three story condo when firefighter as ride flame was coming from second floor back window. Firefighters say they rescued one person inside that condo. She wasp conscious and suffering smoke inhalation. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The flames also damaged a condo next door. We are able to stop it from spreading. These buildings are connected. It could get from one building to another. Thats why we called a second alarm. We saw smoke out of this second building off the rooftop. As we fought the fire we determined it did spread to the second unit. It took about 30 minutes to put that fire out. The cause is under investigation. The man who is has not been identified was found in the street behind the parked car. He died there at the scene. People who live nearby say they heard five or six shots. So far no arrests have been made. Another freeway shooting in the east bay is under investigation this happening just before noontime on the redwood road off ramp of eastbound 580. Investigators say people in a bronze suv and in a silver hatch back were shooting another each other. When deputy as lifed this the scene no victims or suspects were found. Just bullet casings on the ground. A Sheriffs Department spokesperson said investigators checked surrounding homes and businesss in the area to make sure they werent hit by stray bullets. A convicted sex offender has been on the run in Washington State was caught a a homeless camp in berkeley.
