But i want you to remember this our campaign was never about one person or even one election. It was about the country we love. Secretary clinton also thanked president obama and the first lady for their efforts. Then president obama gave his first reaction to trumps win. Were not democrats first. Were not republicans first. We are americans first. Were patriots first. We all want what is best for this country. Thats what i heard in mr. Trumps remarks last night. Thats what i heard when i spoke to him directly. And i was hearted by that. President obama invited trump to the white house tomorrow to make sure there is a successful and peaceful transition of power. Lets bring in our ktvu political analyst ross palombo for what happens tomorrow. Donald trump, president obama at the white house tomorrow. To be a fly on the wall at that meeting. He is coming to the white house after he has questioned the truthfulness and accuracy of obama being president in the first place. It has been a nasty campaign. We saw Hillary Clinton doing her best to congratulate donald trump and move beyond this and the president himself doing the exact same thing. Saying he was encouraged by Donald Trumps words when he spoke of unity last night. The next thing that happens is the transition. Donald trump wins the campaign. Now the business of actually governing takes place. Chris christie is in charge of the transition team. They have to make some 4,000 political appointments in coming weeks. A lot of familiar faces we might be coming back. It is difficult to say. They are being tight lipped at this point. We dont know if he will pick people who are loyal who can make change in washington. Rudy giuliani has been a staunch supporter might not be as effective in washington and be able to make that machinery work. You have to decide do you pick loyal people or political pay back or pick people who can make things happen in washington, d. C. Which is a very different political animal. Donald trump, ross, so many promises over his campaign. What do you foresee in his first hundred days in office here. Its so difficult to say because donald trump has said so many things that would be the first thing that he would do. He said he would change immigration policy immediately. But no one is speaking of the deportation squads this morning. He said the first thing that he would do is to end obamacare. Something that he really cannot do by executive order. But we assume we will see that first off. Will he get more done because the house and the senate are controlled by republicans . Yeah. This is the whole thing of the donald Trump Presidency. Now he controls congress or his Party Controls congress as well. Paul ryan coming out saying he pulled off a feat this morning and he intend to work with donald trump. Keep in mind that republicans like paul ryan have different ideas of what needs to be done than donald trump. That has been the disagreement along the way. It seems it will be super easy for donald trump to get through what he wants to get through. But there are people who have to vote on it. Because the republicans have in control of congress, it has been a fractured party for many years. Thank you, ross. We will move to lauren who is live in new york with more on the reaction to the results and what International Leaders have to say. Lauren. Reporter good afternoon, gasia and mike.
