I pretty much saw what i expected to see. Reporter in a highly controversial statement during the debate, trump fire back that if he were in president , clinton would be in jail for destroying 33,000 emails that could be under subpoena. Ryan said he will neither defend nor campaign with the republican nominee. Though when the establishment fires at trump tonly seems to fire up his base. The debate set records on social media last night. San Francisco Bay tweeted that this was the most tweeted president ial debate ever with more than 17 million tweets. Twitter said the question of trumps treatment of women dominated the discussion. Trump disagreeing with pence was the top tweeted. He said he would assign a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton if he upon were president. According to the social media giant, it was the most talked about debate on facebook ever. More than 22 million generating more than 92 million likes, posts, comments and shares. 76 of all of those were about donald trump. To help pay for a 1. 9 billion dome stadium that would be right near the strep strip. A group of casino owners is also pledging to pitch in 650 million toward the project. Meanwhile, Oakland Police are search for example three people they say kidnapped and raped a woman. It happened friday morning on international boulevard near 25th avenue. About three blocks away from oakland District Community school. Police say the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, following the attack. Just a few hours ago here, crews with the San FranciscoPolice Department marine unit tried to head on the water trying to locate a sail boat that capsized. Emergency crews say 30 people were on board when the boat flipped over on pier 45. Eight people, including three children were rushed to the hospital. All of the accident victims have been released, except for one 4yearold boy who was not breathing when he was pulled from the water. The bay waters are very, very cold. Hypothermia can set in very quickly. Add the potential that somebody could be injured. At last chicago, that little boy remained in the hospital in stable condition. Meanwhile, investigators are still trying to figure out what caused that to flip over. All lanes are back open this noontime. When the bus caught fire, the driver noticed flames coming from the back of the Santa Cruz Metro bus. Near hamilton and camel. He immediately pulled over and got off the bus with all the passengers. The man accused of killing two men in palm springs and wounding a third officer saturday is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow. John felix, who is an admitted gang member is going to be charged with felonies. If convicted, could face the death penalty. His father said felix was acting crazy, that he had a gun, and that he wanted to shoot Police Officers. Several shots were fired. And the three officers were hit. The Palm Springs Police chief said his entire department is in mourning. What i do have to share with you is pictures of our two deceased officers. Employees are broken. If theres ever a time to pray for palm springs p. D. , its now. The officers who died are 63yearold jose gilbert vega. And 27yearold leslie zarebne. Vega planned to retire this year after 35 years in the department. Zarebne had to return early after having a baby just four months ago. How are you guys . Were okay. I imagine things are difficult there at the Police Department and throughout the city. It is a little tough. And i guess the irony was, this was set up to be a real weekend of celebration with a huge concert that was coming into town over the weekend. So the town was really looking forward to that. Though palm springs is a Fairly Famous city, its ultimately, a fairly small town. Theres like 500,000 yearround residents. So the last Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty in palm springs was way back in 1962. There is something that this is certainly something that is a shock to the community. Weve reported on that concert down in the desert there. Were extra Police Officers there from the Palm Springs Department kind of moved over and extras brought in to fill those spots . Thats exactly right. Every year, coachella is a weekend two. And its old chela as theyre calling it. And its 100,000 people. And a polo event. And its a massive event, which, of course, needs a Massive Police force and police presence. They bring in officers from all the desert cities and all over Riverside County and Southern California to work that event. And these two particular officers actually volunteered to cover those spots in the palm springs Police Department on that saturday pause so much of the staff had gone down to cover the mega concert. Wow. And did we know the officer who died after coming back from her Maternity Leave early, was this her first day back . Or should she already been back for a little bit before this happened . She had been back for a little bit. But she was a fairly new Police Officer. Anyway, about a year and a half on the force. And obviously a portion of that on Maternity Leave. Which is why she was partnered with officer vega, and his 35 years experience. Thats why they were together. Very sad. O, you jeno, you talk gino, you talked about the palm springs and how the department is in mourning. What about palm springs the community . Ive been down there numerous times. Ive had family live there. How is the community handling this right now . Los angeles well, mike, you know. It is ultimately, a pretty small town. We double in size for the season, the winter and the spring. But for those of us that live here yearround. Its a small town. So you really have the overwhelming sense of loss. And its from one end of the Coachella Valley to the other. And its unusual. We have crime like any other city. But this sort of Violent Crime and the gunning down of three Police Officers with a gun big enough to go through a front door and body armor on these Police Officers its pretty terrifying for, like i say, ultimately, i small town. Thanks, gino. A new study finds there have been hundreds of unreported policeinvolved shootings, here in california as well as texas. According to the Texas State University study, about 440 use of force fatalities in california and 220 in texas were not reported from 2005 through 2015. They were supposed to be reported by registries created by those two states. According to the houston chronicle, the california and Texas Attorney generals office, and police eventual officials in both states have confirmed many were missing. Supporters of a rich man who supposedly had was beaten. As they explain, they want the d. A. s office to file hate crime charges. Well, friends of the victims say this incident has not only traumatized him. But also the inthier Sikh Community entire Sikh Community this n in this area. This case has also gotten the attention of the National Sikh coalition. Attorneys for that coalition believe 41yearold sikh culsa was targeted in this beating because of his ethnic nit and ethnicity and religion. Police say a group of six men in a pickup truck threw a beer can at his car. He stepped out to pick up the can and throw it out. And thats where two of the men jumped out and attacked him. He suffered a black eye, cuts and bruises. Attorneys say he may need several root canals. And that one of his fingers may need to be amputated. Police arrested two men for the crime. One from texas, the other from louisiana. They are facing assault charges. Under california law, a hate crime enhancement for a felony could mean an extra 2 to 4 years in prison if the person is convicted. The Contra Costa CountySheriffs Office is reviewing the case. Richmonds mayor put out a statement, encouraging people to lend their support and solidarity to the people in the Sikh Community. And the mayor expects hate crime charges in the next week. An 11yearold girl is recovering after being hit by a bullet fragment. Police say it appears the gun accidentally discharged. The baby girl was taken to santa rosa memorial hospital. Then transferred to Childrens Hospital in oakland. Investigators say she is expected to survive. Survivors of the 1991 east bay hills firestorm are preparing themselves for an emotional anniversary. Next week marks 25 years since the fire that killed 25 people and injured 150 others. Yesterday, a rededication ceremony was held at the rock ridge bart station to remember those who died. Officials from oakland, berkeley and bartons vale carried the black. The burn that rose from the ashes. Survivors also talked about what they remember from the fire and the days that followed. It has been 25 years and i still remember how the sky became dark with smoke and ashes.
