The heavy rain weve been seeing may have contributed to a partial roof collapse in the san jose. A fire alarm went off near concourse drive. Some of the debris rained down inside of the building. The chp responded to more crashes than usual, especially those solo spin outs, all due to the slick roads. Significant flooding in the city of san jose on 880 near the exit for the alameda, crews had to close the on and off ramps for a time in order to clear the standing water. This is the road where the creek has just spilled over the road, its now rushing over it. This happened at yesterday at noon, we took these pictures just in the last couple of hours. Cars got stuck in it yesterday. And the Fire Department had to help pull people out. The road is now barricaded but we have seen trucks and suvs still go through it this morning. Its still something that the authorities dont want people to do. We spoke with one local man who says he bought this truck specifically for situations like this. It always happens, just a little bit of rain, it gets it like this in a couple of hours. Before, i remember, i grew up here and it used to take a couple of days for it to get this bad and now in a couple of hours, you get like that. They shut it down. Reporter well, first, mieshg it happened here on meadow view drive, the neighbors say a lot of children live here and walk to school. Authorities say the driver of the car lost control and struck a 6yearold boy, who was walking to school, with his sister and grandmother, before slamming into the pole. He had stopped on his way to school to bend down and look at worms, he was bending down at the same time that this car lost control. Reporter the boy was taken to the hospital with severe injuries, possibly to his leg. The california Highway Patrol says the driver ran off and not stopping to check on the child. Authorities say the car was stolen, neighbors say they heard the accident, and came out to see the boy lying on the ground. The child was crying very loudly, im not a doctor, but i would say he was in shock, his leg was greatly damaged. Reporter and was he saying anything . No words. That i could hear ch i was standing like a half a house back. Reporter you said his sister was with him . Yeah. Reporter she was what was she doing . Crying. And she was you know, kind of hugging him and saying its okay, youll be fine. Reporter now, earlier, authorities thought they had the driver, but it turns out it was not the right person. Police are investigating another Sexual Assault that happened right near the uc berkeley campus, weve been reporting on similar attacks in the past weeks. The attack over the weekend and the others may be linked to one man. Reporter Berkeley Police confirmed there have been four Sexual Assaults that have happened in the south of campus area, all in the span of less than a month and they believe that the same man may be behind all of them. Here is a map of the attacks. The first Sexual Assault happened on february 11th. Near the intersection of telegraph. There were two that happened on the same evening of february 16th, one at durant and another at dwight. The most recent Sexual Assault happened this past saturday on etna, between dwight and parker streets. Earlier saturday morning, just after midnight, the police say a man grabbed a 1 1yearold woman from behind, pushed her to the ground and Sexual Assaulted her. She screamed and the man took off running down etna street. Police are hoping anyone who heard the screams are saw a man running away, anyone who may have seen something, give them a call to help them with the investigation. Berkeley Police Released this Surveillance Video of a possible suspect, hoping someone recognizes the man. This was captured after one of the february Sexual Assaults. But again, Police Believe the man here may be connected to the Sexual Assault that happened on saturday. And thats why theyre sharing the video again. The description of the suspects is in the four cases, very somewhat, but Police Believe the same man is behind all of them. Theyre walking alone, not in isolated areas, but darker areas, the suspect is running up from behind them and can grabbing them and then at that point, knocking them to the ground, or physically holding on to them. So in each case, we believe theyre connected based on the pattern of attack and how hes approaching these women.
