This but she is cooperating with police. This all happened shortly after 8 30 this morning. Two women in their 60s were crossing the canal trail. A portion of that trail crosses oak grove road where there is a cross walk. The driver who police say is in her 20s was driving southbound on the road when she hit the women in the cross walk. She did stop and is again cooperating with police. The two women were transported to the Medical Center here in walnut creek with critical injuries. Theres no indications of anything obvious but we will find out by the time this is over we will know the estimated speed, if there was Electronic Devices being used at the time but at this point no indications indications. This does mark the third pedestrian hit by a car in the past two weeks here in walnut creek. It happened at a motel 6 near the coliseum after waiting for hours they heard several shots and found him dead after apparent suicide. Livermore police say he is 18 yearold jason brown right here wanted for at least two killings including one in a parking lot of a livermore cvs but they arent confirming his name until they notify his family. 27 people are confirmed dead from a hostage situation from an American Hotel in west africa. Six americans were inside but they got out safely. They are searching the hotel for remaining attackers. Alex savage has more on the islamic extremists being blamed. Dramatic images show military leading hostages to safety today. Gun men were holding 170 people captive inside the Radisson Hotel in the capital of mali. The heavily Armed Islamic extremists stormed the hotel early in the morning reportedly shouting god is great in arabic. The day long siege came to an end as soldiers forced their way inside exchanging gunfire with the attackers. 27 bodies were found inside the hotel. Its unclear how many of those victims were hostages. The u. S. Military was also involved in this stand off and at least six americans were staying at the hotel and they were all safely evacuated.
