You know, at the end of the day we once again are in one of these media cycles, and we are talking about health. And in two days it will be something else. But for clinton some of these things are lingering. And it is hurting her. And for trump these things will reemerge as issues, no doubt. With trump, i mean, let us be honest, it was completely stage wade the dr. Oz thing, and now it is going to air tomorrow. It just seems so peculiar to me. And then on the other side with Hillary Clinton when she got pneumonia last week and it turned into this big story and she said, well, i didnt think it was that big a daily, i didnt think i needed to tell people about it, honestly, how could she not think that was a big deal and think that she didnt need to tell reporters that she was suffering from pneumonia . It just goes to that whole transparency issue that seems to constantly follow her. Yeah, you know, so many of these things, frank, by both of these candidates, these wounds are selfinflicted. Hillary clinton could have come forward very easily and said, im suffering from pneumonia. And by the way, millions of americans everyone would have said, okay. And instead, its the coverup and as we have said, one wonders whether had she not been videoed, whether she would have even come forward and talked about the health scare in the first place. I think if all the emails had slammed trump or all the e mails had slammed clinton, it would be a bigger deal. Reading through some of that it looks like colin powell is not impressed with either person, probably clinton more than trump impressed with her, but certainly critical of both. Why it resonates is that colin powell holds a special place in the american mindset around what a general ought to be and what a secretary of state ought to be and what a statesperson ought to be. So when he talks, when he makes a comment, people do listen, julie. Brian, were getting close to the first debate. It seems to me that all of this is just making the focus on that first debate that much more intense, and it feels like if we look at the debates, i think there are three scheduled, really the first one, thats going to be the key debate. Witnesses say it all started after the elderly man confronted the suspects girlfriend and accused her of parking illegally in a handicapped spot. A stunned witness tried to intervene while his girlfriend recorded what was happening with her phone. All of a sudden the guy just attacked the older gentleman, opened up his door, grabbed him around his neck, punched him a couple of times. The suspect and his girlfriend then took off in separate cars. Anyone with information is asked to call Fairfield Police. Police in oakland are looking for suspects in a deadly shooting early today near the Fruitvale Bart station. The victim was found sitting behind the wheel of his car at the intersection of 35th avenue and east 12th. Police identified the victim as 66yearold tony smith of oakland. He worked in San Francisco as a security guard. Investigators are hoping Surveillance Video may show what led up to the fatal encounter. There are extensive cameras within the area. One of two men accused of killing two girls in yuba county in a cold case there made his First Court Appearance late this afternoon. William harbor pleaded not guilty. Reporter its been 43 long years for two families filled with emotion after witnessing one of the men accused of killing their loved ones in the 70s faced a judge for the first time. 43 years ago we went through this and found ways to put to the rest and to live with it and deal with it. Today all of those emotions are open. We go through emotion after emotion. Reporter stans aunt doris and her best friend valerie lane were murdered in november 1973. They were just 12 and 13 years old at the time. These people have walked around for the last 43 years, and theyve lived their life to where my aunt never had a chance. Reporter the sheriff announced the arrest of suspects william harbor and larry patterson. Both are now 65 years old, 22 at the time of the murders. This familys emotions are even more complicated now, knowing that for all these years harbor remained living in olivehurst but was never caught. Extremely difficult knowing that as children running around and growing up in the neighborhood that we were running around with some of their children, and its just you know, it is a slap in our face. Reporter the Yuba County Sheriffs Department reopened the cold case in 2014. Modern Dna Technology used on original crime scene evidence allowed them to identify the systems. Investigators hope this break in the case provides closure. Our sympathies are with the families, and were just glad to be able to start the healing process for them even if its 43 years later. The other suspect, larry patterson, lives in oklahoma. It is expected that he will be sent back to yuba county soon to face trial. And were tracking that weather out there.
