Oakland police tell us that it all began at 88th avenue and international with a report of a fight and an apparent assault on the officer. A police chase ended up at 98th and eves before they slammed right into the side of the cement truck. Henry lee is there now. What happened . Reporter so frank, youll take a look behind me as im at the corner of 98th avenue. Youll take a look at this stolen gray Chevrolet Impala still wedged against this area that it all started at 2 16 this afternoon and that there will be a fight about ten blocks west of where im standing at 88th avenue and international boulevard, the report of a fight involving a woman when the oakland officer would arrive on scene that the woman and the suspect apparently in their fight. They ran into the officer with the stolen car. The woman took off and the other officer spotted that Chevrolet Impala and began chasing this vehicle eastbound on eaves avenue. We believe that the vehicle had a red light as it approached eastbound eaves. On the corner of eves and 98th avenue that it is where the collision happened near the cement truck as you can take a look at this truck that obviously that it will be very heavy and they would drag the vehicle by about 50 to 75feet south of the intersection where both vehicles can move up to the station as we would speak to police and a witness about what they saw is what they said. The suspect vehicle was traveling eastbound on the avenue and they would collide with a cement truck that was traveling southbound on 98th avenue. The vehicle was occupied by five females. And they would report the ages of the females from three years old to 32 years old. I heard a car and i couldnt understand if they would keep going and they kept going hitting the fema truck. Preferably right there. Me and my son were right literally at that intersection. I would try to pull them back and he started trying because i almost didnt make it to them as they kept going so it wasnt near us, they would scare us so bad. Reporter the female suspect was driving the vehicle initially pinned in the Chevrolet Impala as we do have at least two children in the car and one as young as three years old that we do not have a condition of any of these five occupants. I do notice that oakland homicide and internal affairs will be on their feet. But again we do not know the condition of the driver, nor the other passengers. Reporter well this point because of the severity of the crash as well as the fact that at least that suspect will be severely injured as a result of the actions involving the oakland police. Any time that they are involved in that incident involving the severity or the death that they will bring in internal affairs. But again at this point we dont know anyone who has actually died, just that several people have been injured . Reporter thats right. We do know that the woman was taken to the hospital as well as for the people in the car including two of the children. No reported times of the death at all at this point, but they will be here as a precaution at this point. Henry lee in oakland tonight. Just a couple miles away from that scene as they are investigate wag appears to be a homicide. That they would surround their home on fresno street off of 73rd. Sky fox was overhead about an hour ago. And from above that we could see what appeared to be a dead body on the porch of that home and that someone was also taken away from the scene by ambulance. And a witness told us that the victim was a woman who may have been caught in that crossfire. So far that there is no indication that this was in any way connected to the chase and crash that henry lee just reported on. Reporter Surveillance Video shows you shortly before 3 00 this morning that four suspects are backing the white van onto the sidewalk in front of the Camera Stores on fisherman wharf. It appears that the vehicle was being used as a battery ram to bust into the shop. This seems to be pretty well orchestrated. And that it is an unconventional way of doing the smash and grabs. And three large bags that would need to enter inside and grab as many items as they possibly can and under four minutes that they will be able to successfully take out as many items as they can to jump back into the van and take off before they showed up. Reporter in San Francisco Tara Moriarty ktvu fox 2 news. Delta airlines canceled 300 additional flights today and a day after the computer glitch stranded thousands of passengers. In a statement the airline said todays cancellations were to reset their operations after a computer outage yesterday disabled their communication and booking system. Thousands of passengers would remain stranded again today and that getting those customers to the destination wont be easy. 90 of their delta flights were booked full before the Computer Systems went down. We have been taking them out by the planes twice. And that we have been given every excuse in this time. Its a compliment. But what are you going to do about it . Before yesterdays massive outage, delta would have an impressive record going 100 days this year without one canceled flight. In addition to todays 300 cancellations that 3,000 delta flights were delayed. As they have issued a public apology and the airline is offering refund and travel vouchers to customers. There are new developments in the fight against the massive soberanes fire burning in Monterey County north of big sir. It has expanded to more than 104square miles since breaking out three weeks ago. More than 5,000 firefighters plus air tankers and helicopters have been making progress. One person has been killed, 57 homes have been destroyed. Hundreds of other homes are still threatened. Katehi has been on paid leave since april while the university investigated a number of possible violations at the university policy. The deputy public defender would spot their signin sheet yesterday in a courtroom as you can see that the sheet would ask those witnesses for their names and their phone numbers, and then instead of defendant, the handwritten sheet would ask you to name the quote, bad guy involved in their case. Today we would talk to the attorney who discovered that list and took a picture of it. I approached the clerk to ask her about something on calendar. Embattled stockton mayor Anthony Silva is speaking out following their arrest at silver lake camp this week. That silva is facing three misdemeanors in connection to providing alcohol with minors as well as a felony for allegedly recording a game of strip poker with camp counselors. The jury also found pg e guilty of five additional counts for violating minimum Safety Standards for pipelines carrying natural gas. They include obstructing investigators, misleading them about how it was identifying highrisked pipelines. Pg e denied that it had a policy of pumping gas through aging pipelines including the san bruno line. That pressure is up to 10 above federal limits. The five other charges involved the Energy Company violating Pipeline Safety regulations with shotty recordkeeping and pipeline maintenance. We spoke with the legal analyst and by phone with the mayor of san bruno. We are very gratified in san bruno that six of these counts were convictions. The jury found out over the last six or seven weeks what weve known for years that pg e put profits ahead of safety and as a result eight people lost their life in our city and a neighborhood was destroyed.
